Eastern Era Walkthrough – How To Build Your Camp

A detailed walkthrough of the initial objectives in Eastern Era.

Eastern Era is a recent base-building video game release from Funyoo Games. This game not only gives you control over how to design your own empire, but it also allows you to individually control your disciples that inhabit your camp. For more information, you can visit the official Steam page here.

This walkthrough deals with the initial opening hours of Eastern Era, where you have to build your camp properly and start your journey as the newly trusted leader.

Build Camp I

Building camp in Eastern Era.

Your first main objective after beginning the tutorial is to start building your camp. Scavenge some trees, bushes, and hay to start building. The game even marks these structures during the first main mission.

Once you gather the materials, open the house menu at the bottom of the screen and start building a shelter. Place two mats for your disciples and two depots for materials inside the shelter, and the first mission will be complete.

Build Camp II

For this objective, open the production menu and build a bonfire first. You’ll need five log and five stone to build one, so farm for these materials if you’re missing out.

Click on the bonfire, open the simple cook menu, and start cooking stewed flatbread. Once the dish is cooked, click on one of your disciples from the list found on the left side. Click on the feed option, and feed your disciple the stewed flatbread to complete this objective.

Tech Research

Researching in Eastern Era.

Start by building a research table, which can be found in the production menu, and you will need five log and five stone again. Click on the research table, then press the research menu, and start researching on a simple research paper.

Unlocking skills in Eastern Era.
Researching to further build your camp in Eastern Era.

A quick tip is to fast-forward time when tasks take too long. Once you have the research paper, click on the tech menu and use the paper to research agronomy.

Farming And Observation

Farming for crops in Eastern Era.

Click on the newly unlocked farming menu and place a field of wheat and a field of cotton next to your camp. Your disciples should start planting in these fields. If they don’t, just click on the fields and make sure that planting has been checked.

Observing unknown crops in Eastern Era.

Your next objective requires you to observe an unknown plant in the wild. The game automatically takes you to its location. Just click on the crop and press the observe button.

Activities And Scheduling

Changing activities in Eastern Era.

Select the work menu found at the bottom left and change the activities and priorities for an activity of a disciple. Priorities can be found by clicking the red toggle in the work menu.

Changing schedule in Eastern Era.

Next comes the scheduling, and the schedule menu can be found next to the activities menu. Here, change the schedule of a disciple and add a new schedule to complete the objective.

Crafting And Hunting

You’ll need the crafting table to start crafting. But before doing that, make sure you have a research paper, and if you don’t, then use the research table. Open the tech menu and research carpenter to unlock the crafting table. Construct a crafting table, which can be found in the production tab, and you will need twenty log for it.

Placing entertaining rock in Eastern Era.

Your next objective is to build an entertainment distraction rock, which can be found in the relaxation tab right next to farming. Gather stones if you’re missing out on resources for the rock.

Making weapons in Eastern Era.

The game wants you to hunt an animal for your next objective. First, make sure that you craft a lightwill spear. Give the spear to one of your disciples and make them hunt an animal in the wild, close to your camp.

Drafting disciples in Eastern Era.

Some bandits will attack you next, and you will need to protect your camp from them. Click on a disciple and press the draft button so you can freely move them. Make sure your disciples have weapons so they can defend the camp.

Making A Dirt Structure

Your next big objective is to make a dirt structure in your camp. Firstly, you’ll need three research papers, which you can obtain by using the research table. Then, open the tech menu and research dirt structure.

Now you’ll have access to dirt structures in the house tab. Firstly, lay down a 5×5 dirt foundation and cover the foundation with walls from all sides. Next, add a roof up top and build a door on any one side of the structure to finish this objective.

Awakening Dantian

In order to awaken the dantian, you will first need to build an arena for your disciples to train. You will need three research papers to research the shelter section in the tech menu to unlock the arena.

Build the arena in your camp and change the schedule of your disciples that you want to train. We recommend replacing the working hours with cultivation hours instead to make your disciples train all day long. Once your disciples have cultivated enough XP through training, you can awaken the dantian for these disciples.

Your next objective requires you to announce your sect to the world. Click the option on the bottom right of the screen to finalize the name, origin, and leader of your sect. The very next mission requires you to change up some roles in your sect, which can be done in the structure menu of sect management. Swap the position of the disciples here to complete this objective.

Now you’ll be tasked with recruiting, and the game automatically makes a recruitment request pop up on screen, so don’t accidentally miss out on it.

Breakthrough

This is another long objective, which first requires you to construct another dirt structure. Lay down a 7×7 dirt foundation and cover it up with walls, doors, windows, and a roof. Once the structure is built, make the roofs disappear, and click inside the room to change it into one of the four required training grounds.

We changed it into the metal crimson glow hall, for reference. Next, click on a disciple, go into the combat tab, and click on the breakthrough option to complete this objective.

Building Defenses

It’s time to build defenses for your camp, but before you begin, you’ll need thirty research papers. Start researching on the research table and fast-forward time if you have to.

Once you have the papers, open the tech menu, go to the handcraft section, and research master outfit and combat arts I. This allows you to build crossbows in your camp, and you’ll need to make two in order to complete the current objective.

You will also need to research refined metallurgy, which is also found in the handicraft section of the tech menu. Build a refining furnace to make iron ingots, which are needed to construct crossbows. If you need iron, it can be mined easily in the world, and if you need jade brick, then it can be formed in a normal furnace.

This concludes our walkthrough of the initial objectives in Eastern Era, which deals with the basics of how to build your camp and get your sect on the map!
