Welcome to the first part of our walkthrough for Emberbane.
In this walkthrough, we’ll cover the first two regions of the game as we fight through multiple gauntlets and unlock a brand new ability for Ophelia.

Unlocking the Sand Prison Solace

After waking up at the Sand Prison, you’ll watch a short cutscene of Ophelia burning the iron bars away with her hand.

Start moving right, and you’ll see the tutorial for healing. For now, you have only two heals, but you’ll unlock more later on.

You’ll also learn how to use the Fireball in the next room. This area is pretty linear. So just keep moving forward.

Jump across the platforms in the next room.

You’ll spot an enemy on the other side of a wooden barricade. Strike the barricade a few times to break it and then take down the enemy.

Jump across the pit of spikes to the platform on the right and take out another enemy.

After that, use the floating platforms on the left to make your way forward.

Slide under the clearing on the left and keep moving.

Jump across another floating platform to encounter a few more enemies.

Once they’re down, jump between the walls to make your way up.

There are some more enemies in the upper section that you’ll have to fight.


Continue making your way up using the steel floor to fight some more enemies.

Fall through the floor afterward to the path below.

From here, go right and strike at the altar to light it on fire and open the path through.

Go forward and use Fireball to light the altar on the other side. This creates a floating platform. Use it to get over the spike pit.
Continue right and through the door to get to the next section.

In the next room, you’ll encounter an Archer. Take them out. There’s also a Maceman on the platform right above him.

Once you take out both enemies, continue moving to the right. Jump across to the next section to fight another enemy. This area is filled with enemies.

Up ahead, you’ll see a spike trap. Wait for the spikes to go down before heading through.

Jump across to the platform on the right. The lower path has another spike trap, so stay on the upper platform

Keep moving right to spot a fireball trap. When the trap stops firing, drop down and slide to the right.

Take out the enemies up ahead quickly.


Once they’re dealt with, go right. Jump between the walls to go up. Then go slide under the fireball from the left and jump to the upper platform using another wall jump. Watch out for another fireball trap up ahead, and finally use wall jump to reach the top section.

Go left first and take out the two Macemen here.

Slide under the clearing and take out the enemies on the other side. There’s a blue crystal node here that you can break to collect some Sparks. You can use Sparks to upgrade your mastery and purchase items from merchants.

Go all the way to the right once you’re done and through the door to reach the next room. Wait for the spikes to disappear and run to the right.

Use the ropes over the water to get across.

Continue forward to enter the first gauntlet of the game. Take out the waves of enemies to unlock the path forward. After the fight, you can hit the gong in the middle of the room to trigger the gauntlet again.

Continue forward after the gauntlet, and in the next room, you’ll come across the first Solace. This serves as your save point where you can increase your Element Mastery and equip new Relics.

Increase your Fire Element Mastery as much as you can and equip the Touch of Midas relic before moving on.
Obtaining the Fire Dash & Reaching Nashra Dunes

Continue along the right-side path from the Solace to reach the next room. You’ll trigger another gauntlet up ahead.

This gauntlet is a bit harder and will have some new enemies for you to fight. Once the enemies are defeated, head forward to the next room.

You’ll reach a drop-down with a rope hanging from the ceiling. The path on the right is inaccessible because of the spikes. So head down.

At the bottom, head left first to enter a room full of crystals. Break them for some free Sparks.

Then go all the way to the right till you reach another drop-down with spikes on both walls. Jump down through the hole.

Go left and interact with the statue to unlock the Fire Dash ability.

Go right and dash through the passage without touching the spikes. Use the rope on the other side to climb up.

Keep going left to make your way back to the previous room. Use the rope to climb all the way to the top.

Jump and Fire Dash through the spike to reach the right side of the area.

Keep going right until you make it out of Sand Prison and reach Nashra Dunes. You’ll unlock another Solace along the way. Use it to increase your Element Mastery.

Talk to the Stranger NPC up ahead.

After running through his dialogue, continue moving right. You’ll reach a pool with some floating platforms above it. Avoid the falling rocks and use the floating platforms to make your way across.

On the other side, you have to traverse across a rope while avoiding more falling rocks.

Keep moving forward till you reach a grate. There’s a rope heading down. Drop through the platform to the bottom.

You’ll find another Solace here that you can unlock.
The Nashra Dunes Gauntlet

From the Solace, use the ropes on the right to make your way to the platform on your right.


Cross the water using the ropes while avoiding the fireball traps.

Slide through the clearing to drop down to the next zone.

From here, slide under the wall on the right to fight an Earth Mage. These enemies can be annoying, but Fireball works great against them.

This zone is filled with enemies. You need to keep heading right as you take them down.

There’s a platform with spike traps just above two Earth Mages, where you’ll find a Codex Page.

Go all the way to the right of the zone across a pool with six fireball traps to fight another Maceman. Once it’s down, use the walls to make your way to the top.

You’ll find a door on the right at the top.

There’s an Earth Mage waiting just on the other side of the door. Take it down and go right.

Use the rope to go up while avoiding the fireballs.

You’ll have to fight a Spearman at the top.

Take out the Spearman and go right to find another rope. Use it to climb up to the next section.


This area can be tricky because of all the enemies you have to fight. Take your time and use Fireball from a distance to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
Go left across the spike trap to reach a platform with an Earth Mage.

Jump to the next platform on the left while avoiding the falling boulders.

Keep making your way to the left while avoiding the hazards and defeating the enemies.

You’ll reach an area with swinging pendulums that you’ll have to avoid while making your way across.

Keep moving forward until you reach a floating platform with a rope going down. Before making your way further up, jump to the rope and use it to head down.

You’ll notice a path heading left. Jump and Fire Dash your way across.

Continue heading left, and you’ll notice a drop-down up ahead. You don’t need to go down. Instead, jump across the gap and continue moving forward.

You’ll soon find yourself back outside. Continue running left and drop down up ahead.

Keep moving, and you’ll see an altar below. Strike it to light it up.

This creates a floating platform over the pool on the left. Go across the pool using the platforms.

This takes you back to the start of the zone. It’s a handy little shortcut that you can use if you die.

For now, return to the platform where you used the rope to climb down. Then continue ascending through the area till you reach the next section.

Continue heading left to trigger another guantlet. Take down all the enemies.
Reaching Edenwood

After the gauntlet, continue left and use the rope to climb up.

At the top, go all the way to the right and slide under the clearing to spot another rope. Use it to go down.

This brings you to the other side of a door. Strike the hanging skulls to open the door on your left. This path leads back to the guantlet. Go right, through the door to the next section.

This leads you to another Solace. Save your progress and then continue moving right.

Keep moving to exit the area, and eventually you’ll reach a merchant. If you’ve got enough Sparks, you can purchase some items from the merchant.

Continue running right, past the merchant, to find another Solace. There’s a door on the right that will take you to Edenwood.
