Reaching the Mainframe

Make your way back to the Central Elevator when you’re ready. This will take you to the Lower Levels, the final zone of the game. So make sure you wrap up any exploration before you head down.
Get on the elevator and select Lower Levels to trigger a cutscene.

Follow the Captain and the Soldier along the passage. Another cutscene will trigger shortly after this.

After the cutscene, you’ll get the new objective Unknown Signal. Head through the door to the left.

You’ll reach a Restoration Pod and a Workbench up ahead. Use it to save your progress, then descend using the elevator.

Go left and then up toward the giant blast door. It will open as you get close to it.

Walk up to the giant block up ahead to trigger a cutscene.
Activating the Release Protocols

After talking to the mainframe, your main objective is to activate the two Release Protocols. Leave through the giant door and go all the way to the left. Then go up and head into the room to your right.
You’ll see a Safe Room nearby. Use it to save your progress. Then head through the door to the left.

You will reach a room with a floor similar to where you had Security Turret encounters. Head through the door straight ahead.

This will lead you to an Energy Node Door. Trace the lines to the previous room and break all the nodes.

This triggers a Security Turret encounter where you have to defeat four Security Pod Type C as well.

Return to the Energy Node Door afterward and head through. Use the lever to release the first Protocol.

Leave the room and head through the door on the right. Continue forward till you reach an elevator. Use it to head down.

Take out the enemies below and go right to find the Utility Tunnels Key.

Retrace your steps till you get back to the Safe Room. Go down the staircase to spot a door. Unlock the door using the Utility Tunnels Key and head through.

This tunnel is filled with Husks, with a Husk Brute near the end. Keep moving forward past the enemies.

You’ll eventually go up another staircase. The door to the right near the staircase leads to the next Release Protocol area. But first, loop around to the back of the room to open a shortcut back to the Mainframe area.

Head through the door near the staircase and, like before, break the Energy Nodes. Take out the enemies afterward to open the Energy Node Door past this room.

Go inside and use the lever to release the second Protocol.

Leave the room and head through the door on the left and use the lever to unlock the door up ahead. Then work your way back to the Mainframe to trigger another cutscene.

Return to the elevator you used to reach this zone and head back up.

Use the Restoration Pod to save your progress. Then work your way back to the room where you received the Unknown Signal objective. The door to the right will now be unlocked.
Obtaining Level 1 Access

Keep heading right. You’ll reach a room where you see a locked door to the north. This is a shortcut we’ll unlock later.

At the end of the path, you’ll reach an elevator. Use it to head down.

You’ll reach an area with a metal walkway. Go down and then right.

Continue forward until a body drops from above, in a passage with a door at the end. You can scan the body.

For now, head through the door on the right and then go down along the passage. There’s another door to the left.

This will take you to another area with metal walkways. Go all the way to the left and then climb down the ladder.

Run to the right and pick up the Level 1 Access next to the body. As soon as you do so, you’ll be ambushed by a bunch of Unformed Specimen A, the same enemy that you saw falling from above earlier.

These enemies are highly resilient to your weapons for now. But we’ll be picking up a weapon that makes short work of them soon. So it’s best to just run past them for now.
Obtaining the Incinerator

Work your way back to the passage where the first Unformed Specimen A dropped from above. Then head through the door to the north.

There’s a Safe Room to your right. Save your progress and use the Level 1 Access to open the door to the left.

There are more Unformed Specimens here. Ignore them for now. Run up the staircase and head through the door on the upper floor to the right.

Continue down the passage and into the room on the left.

Run all the way to the end and call the elevator. Use it to head up. There’s a chest nearby you can loot for some Fragments.

After getting off the elevator, you’ll spot a door right above you to the left. But first, go all the way to the left while hugging the lower side to open a shortcut. When you’re ready, head through the door in the middle section of the room.

As you enter the next room over, the area goes into lockdown until you defeat the enemies. This will also be your first encounter against Head Crawlers.

These are mutated spider-like enemies that have a devastating grab attack and can revive dead Husks. Use the Riot Breaker or Grenades to take them out quickly.

Head through the door on the left once the enemies are down. You’ll find the Incinerator on the ground right above you to the north. Pick it up.

The Incinerator is a powerful flamethrower that can burn the Unformed Specimen-type enemies. The only downside to this weapon is that it eats up a lot of your ammo quickly.

Go down after picking up the weapon and use the lever to unlock a shortcut back to the previous zone.

Then continue heading north until you spot a Safe Room. Use it to save your progress. I would suggest stocking up on Incinerator Ammo here.
Obtaining the Neural Chamber Access

Leave the Safe Room and head along the path to the right. This will take you to an area filled with enemies. You’ll also face Unformed Specimen B here. You can fight them if you want, or simply run through the door above you to the left.

Continue forward and take the door on the right along the first turn. You’ll be ambushed by an Unformed Specimen B from the left. So watch out for that.

Stick to the lower section and continue heading right. There’s another Unformed Specimen B in the passage up ahead.

Head through the door past the enemy to reach a Parasitic Growth on the wall. You can burn it away using the Incinerator.
But before you do so, head down and then left to open a shortcut back to the Safe Room from earlier. There’s a boss fight coming up.

Burn away the Parasitic Growth and head inside. Continue along the passage to trigger a boss fight.
Failed Experiment Boss Fight

The Failed Experiment, similar to the Unformed Specimens, is extremely weak to fire, making the Incinerator the best choice for this fight. This fight can get chaotic because you’re not fighting the boss alone.
As you progress through the fight, more and more Unformed Specimens join the fight.

There are several Explosive Containers scattered in the arena that you can use to your advantage. If you can bait the boss to the container and shoot it, the resulting explosion will eat up a huge chunk of its health pool.
All in all, it isn’t the most difficult boss you’ve fought so far. As long as you can kite the enemies around while dealing damage to the boss, you’ll be fine.

Head through the door on the left once the enemies are down to find the Neural Chamber Access. Pick it up.

Return to the area shown in the image above and use the Neural Chamber Access to open the door to the north.

Continue forward to find the lifeless body of Soldier E-19 on the ground. Unlock the door to the right to open a shortcut back to the previous Safe Room. Then head through the door past Soldier E-19.

Keep running forward until a cutscene triggers, after which you’ll face the final boss of the game.
Fractured Being Boss Fight

The Fractured Being is the final boss of End of Abyss. It’s not exactly a hard boss fight, but the fact that it does massive damage with each hit and can potentially one-shot you, coupled with its huge health pool and damage resistance, can make the fight tricky.

The fight is split into two distinct phases. During the first phase, the boss will try to get close to you and do a melee slam attack. The attack has a slightly delayed effect, so you’ll want to hold your dodge until you hear the audio cue.

He also has a swipe attack that can eat up a huge chunk of your health pool. But the range is short, and it’s pretty easy to dodge it.

Periodically, he’ll do a short-range slam that sends a shockwave along the ground. You’ll want to dodge it by either rolling through it or rolling away to the side.

If you get caught in the shockwave, Cel goes down, and you’ll have to button-mash to make her get up.

Should you fail this, the Fractured Being will unleash a devastating grab attack that can one-shot you. You’ll have a second chance at freeing yourself by mashing a button.

The boss also has a gravity attack. You’ll see particles start flying in the arena. After a brief moment, you’ll get swept up and slammed down into the arena, dealing massive damage.
The only way to avoid it is to deal enough damage to the boss to stagger him out of the animation. The Riot Breaker is great for this.

When you bring the boss’s health down to zero, a short cutscene triggers, after which the second phase begins.

During the second phase, the boss ditches its melee attacks and uses its tendrils to attack you from afar. The tendrils also have a delayed effect, so listen for the audio cue. Sometimes, it’s a quick two-hit combo, and other times, it’ll attack only once.

The shockwave attack also gets amplified, expanding outward in all directions with the boss at the center. You’ll have to dodge toward the boss to avoid getting caught in it.
This fight isn’t about trying to take down the boss quickly. The massive health pool of the Fractured Being means you’ll have to take things slow and be methodical with your movement and positioning.

Focus on learning its attack patterns and dodging them. There are plenty of openings to deal damage. Keep firing from a safe distance, and eventually, the boss will go down, triggering the final cutscene of the game.
