Enigma of Fear Walkthrough – Spiral Castle – 1st Floor


Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Enigma of Fear. This guide will try to cover as much of the puzzles and mysteries as we can.

Enigma of Fear is a game of investigation and mystery in Pixel Art/3D where your deduction is your guide. Play and enjoy this story in the way that you want to, so we highly recommend that you explore and interact with its world as much as possible.

Perimeter

Back inside the maze, reset yourself to the camp by going back the way you just came.  Head down the stairs and across the bridge. Then run past all the bridges till you get to the Perimeter.

Head straight then to the left past the red truck. You will find a medkit on a table besides a lantern. Keep heading north, past a yellow truck. You will have reached Spiral Castle.

Spiral Castle

Head straight up the path and go left. You will come across an ooze monster, kill it. Further ahead you will reach a crossing with a pipe and weird symbols carved on the shore.

Switch to Lupi and cross through the pipe to the other side. Hit the button on the box near the shore and the ooze should solidify.

Cross the ooze river and check the note on the table. Now head back the way you came to the stairs and go up. Run past the ooze monster and get up the stairs to enter the castle.

Bathroom

Once inside the castle enter the bathroom on the left for a medkit that is on the sink. But also there is a cursed item on the table in the left corner.

Fireplace Room

Go back out and enter the room on the opposite side to find Medical Attendance forms for Diogo Laiks. Pick up the ammo from the fireplace and listen to the recorder on the coffee table.

The door is locked with a keypad and we don’t know the combination. Use the radio to talk to Agatha about the tree with ooze. Exit this room and head into the corridor. If you take the path to the left and open the double-paneled doors into the dining room, you will run into a huge ooze monster so avoid that door for now. Instead go straight into the statue room, and take out the ooze monster here.

If you need to avoid enemies – Select the radio, hold right mouse button and press left mouse button. On controller hold LT and press RT. This will allow you to teleport away or behind the enemies.

Head into the next corridor and keep going till you reach Yuri’s Room – the room on the left. Avoid all the monsters by running around them or teleporting.

Yuri’s Room

In the library, check the crumpled paper on the floor. Use UV light on it.

Pick up the ammo from the sink in the adjacent bathroom. On the bench near the table you can pick up the clip board to read about “The Spiral Theory”. Use UV light on it for more context. Go back to the statue room and head into the room behind the statue.

The Team Office

You will find the map to the castle in this room.

Pick up the Medkit from the shelf and ammo from the table. Check the notice board next –

Exit the Team Office and head into the Kitchen on the left.

The Kitchen

Pick up the Medkits and the ammo from the counter tops. Exit through the door in the back. This will lead you the Dining Room.

Dining Room

Avoid the Giant Ooze Skeleton and kite the smaller one out and take it out.

Go back in and pick up the ammo from the table. While the Giant’s back is turned towards you, check the prosthetic arm on the floor.

This is the code for the locked door in the fireplace room. So go back there –

Enter the code and enter the unlocked door. Once inside, pick up the letter to George. Then check the notes on the center table. Listen to the recorder on the dressing table and check the picture on the bed. Enter the door at the back. Pick up the ammo from the table. You will find the schematic for the Anachronic Device here as well.

If you now mess around with the Anachronic Device next to the bed, we still don’t know what to do with it. Check the recorder next to the bed – we now know the Giant Ooze Monster is called the Tyrant. Head out through the door next to the Anachronic Device into the lobby with the statue. Go straight through and you will see the Tyrant. Kite it towards you your UV light and then teleport behind it.

You can reach the Garden now.

The Garden

Nothing of note here at first glance but the note on the left. Pick it up. Next go to the tree by the table – where you can pick up ammo. Shine your UV light on it and then knock it down with your crowbar.

Cross over to the other side and head to the Library on the left. Check the note from Diogo on the central table (use UV light on it as well) and then check the note on the floor near the table. We learn that we need the Crystal Flashlight which is in the Crystal Cave. Open the door at the top of the room and head to the Underground.
