Gecko Gods Walkthrough Part 2: Volcanic Temple Gate

Gecko Gods Walkthrough

In Gecko Gods, our Gecko is stranded on an archipelago where it finds remnants of the Gecko Gods. And there, it is now bound to wake them from their slumber through completing puzzles and exploring all the areas. In the previous walkthrough, I covered numerous objectives, including all Gongs to awaken the Great Water Gecko.

And in this Gecko Gods walkthrough, I’ll cover the next set of objectives, beginning with “Explorer!”.

Explorer!

Gecko Gods Volcanic Temple
The Raft Outside The First Island.

The Great Water Gecko is now awakened and asks our Gecko to explore the islands further. A small hole will open before you. Go through it to interact with a switch, then rotate it clockwise to light up the circle below; this opens a door for the raft. Jump on the raft and hold its switch to control it, and outside, you will find five vast islands spread across the archipelago.

Your main objective is to explore all the islands and complete their puzzles. First, head to the closest island and climb it; don’t forget where you have docked the raft.

Singing Peaks

Singing Peaks is the first island’s objective, where you have to ring all five bells. The first bell is across the bridge in the north. Get to the southeastern end of the island, and there you can find the second bell behind a giant waterfall. Jump towards the bell to ring out.

After ringing the second bell, look towards the waterfall and turn left to find a small bridge that leads to the other towering rock. Climb it, and there will be the third bell at its top. From here, look right and cross the wooden bridge; it will lead you to an intersection.

The two remaining bells can be found in both directions. Ring them and watch the hidden door unlock. Get there to find another switch and rotate it clockwise to complete the first island’s challenge. Return to the raft and visit the middle-most island on the map.

Ancient Hill

Gecko Gods Volcanic Temple
Entering The Ancient Hill.

This island initiates the Ancient Hill objective, which requires two Sliding Pieces puzzles to be completed to unlock a door. Visit the nearby cave to find two towers with wires, and follow them to find the puzzles.

Unlike how these puzzles are in other games, here you only have to match the distinct piece from the disjointed corner; it will take a while, but it is easy to solve. After completing both puzzles and lighting the towers, head inside the recently opened room to find another puzzle with eight pieces.

Gecko Gods Volcanic Temple
The First Puzzle in Ancient Hill.

It can be a bit challenging to solve. Here is the process to solve it:

  • Take the middle-right tile and place it in the empty top-left space.
  • Move the hexagon tile in the middle-right.
  • Slide the middle-left tile into the center.
  • Take the wooden-bar tile from the top-left and move it to the middle-left spot.
  • Grab the top-center tile and move it to the top-left corner.
  • Again, take the top-right tile and slide it into the top-center.
  • Move the middle-right tile to the top-right corner.
  • Move the Hexagon tile again into the middle-right.
  • Finally, take the center tile and move it to its specific place.

The Final Puzzle, Solved.

The process isn’t the same for anyone and doesn’t provide a specific solution for the puzzle. However, it will allow you to cycle the tiles easily and keep moving them until the puzzle is solved.

Once that is done, wait for the floor to open up, and then rotate the switch clockwise to complete the Ancient Hill objective. Climb up the wall (Don’t sprint, otherwise you will fall off), and move upwards to exit the cave. Return to the raft and move towards the southwestern island with four rings at its entrance.

Sailing Isle

Going Through The Rings at Sailing Isle.

As the name suggests, Sailing Isle consists of numerous rings that you have to go through. Follow the rings, starting with the golden aura one, and then keep circling the island. Wait for other rings to pop up, move through them, and repeat the process until a gate to the main chamber opens.

Visit the main chamber and rotate the switch clockwise to complete the Sailing Isle challenge. Return to the boat and visit the Volcanic Island in the southernmost area of the archipelago.

Volcanic Temple Gate

One of The Shore Gates at Volcanic Temple.

The Volcanic Temple’s gate is locked with a mechanism. After reaching its entrance, turn right to find a set of stairs. Climb them and enter a chamber with a small golden circle. Go through it and watch the floor rise to the ceiling.

Highlighted Ring.

To escape, look at the highest floor section and interact with the golden circle inside. This will further raise the floor sections. Move around and find the next golden circle; it will create a new yet tight path before you. Continue forward, go through the next golden circle, and repeat the process until the seventh circle appears.

The Volcanic Temple Island.

Completing this set will open the ceiling that leads to the main switch of the temple. Rotate it clockwise, as usual, and unlock the first door; there are four in total. Now, return to the middle ground and find the five gecko statues. Interact with them to learn the location of the remaining switches.

Dungeon Master

The Projectile-Throwing Crabs.

The three remaining switches are divided into sub-objectives of the Volcanic Temple Gate objective. For the Dungeon Master, look right from the direction of the gecko statue that’s in the middle of the other four, and circle left to the massive structure to find an entrance.

There, jump down to the bottom and wait for the tight entrance to close and projectile-throwing crabs to spawn in. Defeat them to unlock a section of the Dungeon. There will be four more giant projectile-throwing crabs. Defeat them again, and repeat this process until you reach a switch. Rotate it clockwise to activate the second gecko statue. Talk with a bird outside to unlock another objective called “Great Desert“.

Circuit Trouble

Going Through The Southern Rings.

If you feel lost during the process, interact with the slabs of the five gecko statues to get hints. For the Circuit Trouble objective, return to your raft and reach the southern end of the Volcanic Temple island. There, steer the raft through five circles to open an entrance that leads to the three divinities.

Head inside the entrance and climb the structure ahead to find two switches behind it. First, activate the switch at the bottom and create a connection. Then, when both ends are connected, turn the second switch right and jump on the elevator as fast as you can.

Creating a Connection For The Elevator.

It will take you to the main chamber, where you have to unlock numerous paths with four main connections: Up, Down, Left, and Right; two at once. Create a connection between the upper and left paths to access the elevator again. However, it brings the elevator down, so to reach the upper floor, break the connection with another wheel inside the chamber, and jump on it to access the third floor.

Rotate the wheel behind you to connect the wire to two ends. There is another switch in the room to open a door that leads to the bottom floor’s right room; rotate the switch to the right wire. Return to the ‘two ends’ room, break the connection with one end, and use the elevator to reach the bottom floor.

Channeling Electricity Between Two Switches.

There, follow the highlighted wire to activate the first main switch; there are two. Return to the main chamber and access the main connection wheel to connect the down and right wire. And, in the newly opened room, rotate the last connection wheel to the left to activate the second main switch.

Climb up to find a newly opened path, and at the dead end, turn right to go through an extremely tight space to access the main switch. Lighten it up to complete the Circuit Trouble objective.

The Altar

Now, for the objective to unlock the Volcanic Temple’s door, the Altar objective must be completed. Return to the five gecko statues, move in the opposite direction of the middle statue to find the island’s main entrance (check the map above for an exact location).

The door is covered with a fence. To enter the final puzzle chamber, look above to find an entrance on the ceiling. Climb there and immediately turn right to find a switch. Rotate it clockwise to open a door, which is time sensitive. As soon as the door opens, look left and drop down to the first floor.

Spiked Walls In The Altar Chamber.

Climb the gecko statue and go through the door before it closes. Avoid the spikes, and move forward with multiple small platforms available in the room. There is a switch at the far right end of the room. Activate it to create the first connection. Head inside the main chamber with the three minor divinities, and look right to find a rotatable switch.

Rotate it either clockwise or anticlockwise, but make sure to leave it at 11 o’clock. For the middle switch, leave it at 8 o’clock and do the same for the third switch. To complete this puzzle and unlock the Volcanic Temple gate, climb up to the roof to find the final switch, rotate it clockwise, and wait for the doors to open.

Activating The Three Minor Divinities.

The gate to the temple will open, but the main puzzle is inaccessible. With this, our Gecko Gods walkthrough part 2 comes to an end, and we’re heading for the Great Desert in the next one. Check out our Gecko Gods complete Walkthrough Hub right here.
