Welcome to the Gloomy Eyes walkthrough. In this “self-coop” adventure-puzzle game, you’ll alternate playing two very different characters—Gloomy, a zombie boy who must avoid light but can move heavy objects, and Nena, a human girl who can walk freely in the light but must steer clear of the undead. Set in a world plunged into eternal night, filled with handcrafted rotatable diorama levels, the story follows their forbidden bond and quest to bring back the sun. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each chapter: how to use both characters’ strengths, solve the environmental puzzles, avoid danger, and uncover secrets hidden behind every twist of the diorama. Let’s journey from the shadows toward daylight together.

Chapter 1: Gloomy
After the short cutscene, head to the left and pick up a bone from pile of bones.

You cannot step into the light, so throw the bone at the power system of the lamp to take the light out. Next, pull the coffin all the way to the right – in front of the metal gate.

Pull the metal gate open and push the coffin into the hole in the floor. Go back around and pick up another bone and climb up the steps. Take the next light out and push the statue down below, opening up the path.

Pick up another bone from the pile nearby and take the light out again. Walk through and drop down. Pick up a bone on your way to crossing over the coffin you had pushed earlier towards the opening. Watch out for the zombie that pops out and head through the opening.

Take out the spotlight and climb up the steps. On the other side, you will notice a big green lock blocking the exit. Go up the path on the left and pick up another bone. Go up and move the lamp over the candle to the right by throwing a bone.

Go past the lamp and pick up a bone from the pile. Take out the next lamp to be able to pick up the green triangle key.

Drop the key and pick up a bone from the pile on the right. Move the lamp with the yellow marker further to the left, pick up the key and go through.

Go down to the gate, use the key and go rhough to the main street.
Chapter 2: Ceaseless Routines
In this next area, go down the path and pull the coffin towards the back and clear the path through.

Go through and up the stairs. Go to the left and pick up a bone. Throw the bone to break through the barrier. Keep going and then drop down the ledge.

There are two street lamps behind you now. Head down the street and pick up a brick from the trolley. Go behind the billboard and throw the brick at the power system of the lamp above the billboard.

This will trigger the large truck at the top of the path to come barrelling down. Push the billboard down to create a makeshift bridge and cross over.

Keep moving past the bicycle shed and across the street. A truck with lights will come through looking for Gloomy. Hide in the shadows and make your way through.

Keep going till you reach the factory with a large light blocking your way through. Pull the panel on the trolley to the right.

This will provide cover for you as you make your way across. Stop at the stairs, turn and head down. Pick up a brick from the trolley and head behind the logs.

From here aim and take out the spotlight on the right.

Go back up and stairs and move the trolley to the end. Leave the cover and go up the stairs. Pick up another brick and take out the generator.

This will move the exit open. Go through the exit. Pick up another brick and head through the exit.

Go through now, till you reach the exit with the fireflies.
Chapter 3: Nena
As Nena now, head through the opening under the desk. On the other side, go to the left and go down the stairs. Go behind the stairs to pick up Nena’s diary.

Next, pick up a coal from the box near the exit with the red lock. Go back to Nena’s room and put the coal in the furnace. Hit the yellow switch to it and the steam will push down a bowling ball, creating a hole in the floor.

Jump down the hole on to the piano. Go into the living room and pick up the ladder rung next to the fireplace.

Climb back up and around to the ladder on the outside.

Climb up and turn the switch off – that was keeping the zombie downstairs in check.

This will distract the Priest. Climb back down and into the room where the Priest was and pick up the Red Cross key from above the drawers. As the Priest is coming back in, go back up to your room and through the other side to the exit.

Chapter 4: Into The Woods
Sneak past the man in the hood, going opposite to his patrol direction.

Position yourself behind the man in the hood and pick up the fuse from his back.

Use it on the fusebox near the gate. Go through in the next area and drop down the path on the right. Go through the hollow log and jump over the gap and continue up the path. Climb up the vines and then continue up the right. Go through and climb down the vines. Head past the toxic pool keeping out of range of the zombies. You will end up at the shed soon to end this chapter.
Chapter 5: An Awaited Encounter
Move Nena close to the seated zombie and switch to Gloomy.

With Gloomy, pick up a brick and turn the light around on the generator. This will immobilize the zombie on the other side. Switch to Nena and get her to climb up the vines next to the zombie now. Leave her on the second floor and switch to Gloomy. Pull the dumpsters out of the way to reveal a door hidden behind them.

Go through the door and pick up a brick. Switch to Nena, go down the ramp and go to the right and past the electrified puddle and hit the generator switch at the back.

This will cause all the lights on the level to go off and the puddle will be safe to walk over now. Switch to Gloomy and push the lockers behind the ramp.

Go up the ramp and turn left to access the lockers, then proceed up to the second floor. Move the plant root to the left.

Climb over the locker and push the next set of lockers out of the way and pick up the Red key from behind the heater. Switch to Nena and climb up to the second floor – the path to the fuse should be open now.

Pick it up and climb back down. Insert it in the fuse box.

Go back up to the second floor and climb up the ramp. Up the boxes and the broken ladder and position her infront of the zombie before switching to Gloomy. Now, use Gloomy to unlock the red lock – get on the elevator. This will cause the lights on the other end to go up and immobilize the zombie in front of Nena. Get Nena to pick up the fuse and go back and insert it in the fuse box below. This will allow Nena to move through out of this area and to the broken bridge. Switch to Gloomy and go down the path on the left to end on the opposite side of the broken bridge.
Chapter 6: The Hidden Refuge
Go down the path with Nena and climb down the vine at the ledge at the end.

Follow the path and climb up the vine. Keep going past the yellow pool and up the path and follow it till you find the ladder rung.

Drop down the vine at the end and jump across the gap and go down the next set of vines.

Follow the path and climb up the vine and keep going till you reach the path leading up to the center and use the rung to climb up the ladder to the platform.

Climb up the vine and jump over the gap and into the cave. Go up the stairs, then cross over the gaps and pick up another rung. Go down the stairs and climb up the vines.

Go up the ramp and then across the gap and climb the ladder.
Chapter 7: A Perilous Venture
Move Nena past the light, pick up a log and bring it back to Gloomy.

Switch to Gloomy and throw the log at the light to turn it around. Might take a couple of tries to clear the path over the bridge. Pick up the fuse with Gloomy. Give it to Nena and insert it in the fuse box. Switch to Gloomy and move past the three next to the fuse box and the hooded guy’s tent – careful not to get spotted. Go down the path.

Do the same with Nena and move her past the light and the second hooded guy by timing the move with the log cart passing by.

Pick up the fuse and go back up. Head to the fuse box with Nena and insert it. Bring Gloomy back as well. Pick up a log. This will immobilize the zombie up ahead, opening the path up for Nena – so go through. Jump across the gap on the right.

Press the switch to turn the light off on the other side. Bring Gloomy down the path on the left past the zombie near the sleeping hooded guy and ring the bell on the washing closet.

Once the hooded man is distracted, go around to the left behind the tree and pick up the fuse. Bring it back for Nena and insert the fuse in the box.

Go down the path to the fireflies with Nena. Switch back to Gloomy and go past the tracks and then head on down to the fireflies.
Chapter 8: Rising Threats
Go up the path with Gloomy past the switch and the closed off mine entrance and push the box down over the electrified puddle.

Brinng Nena up over the box and turn the switch off to turn the electricity off. Go past the hooded guy with both Nena and Gloomy and then climb up the ledge with Nena.

Keep her up there and switch to Gloomy and bring him up there as well. Pick up a log from the passing cart.

Throw the log at the light on the left. Now move Nena past the first two zombies and place her infront of the second zombie.

Now throw the log at the lamp on the right. And then on the left. Now move Nena through to the switch and press it. This will send a cart all the way across the map. Hide Gloomy behind the plant near the lights, from the hooded guy. Move Nena in front of the second zombie and then hit the light on the left first and then the right to immobilize the middle and the right zombies and move through with Nena.

Wait for the hooded guy to move to the left. Move Nena back up the ledge and go past to the next area. Bring Gloomy up to the next area – throw logs at the two blocked off planks at the back.

Move Nena to the space created behind the carts now. Wait in the first one for the carts to move, and then go to the next one and through to the other side.

Go up the path and hide behind the plank and move through behind the hooded guy. Go up to the top and press the switch at the watchstation.

This will distract the big guy up there causing him to roll down as well as move a cart towards the fireflies near the exit. Switch to Nena and move her back all the way to bottom.

Move Gloomy with the passing cart past the big guy waiting on top.

Move both of them past the hooded guys near the watering closet and into the exit.
Chapter 9: The Sunken Light
Go down to the beach with Gloomy and go up the platform on the left. Pick up a log and then throw it at the generator.

The door on this side will open. Pick up the waterwheel inside with Gloomy. Bring the waterwheel down to the beach on the left and fit it on the Swan boat.

Next go over to the other side of the beach and pick up the duck neck and bring it back to the boat and fit it.

Move both Nena and Gloomy far to the right, near the platform with the two lights and get Get Nena to climb up the platform and move the lights with the switch.

Position Gloomy under the platform and use Nena to move the lights again. While they are moving move Gloomy to the other side and pick up the Pedal. Move the lights again with Nena and move out with Gloomy and back to the boat. Come back to the platform with the two lights with Gloomy. Pick up a log from underneath the platform. Get Nena to move the lights again and move through with Gloomy at the same time.

Use the log to crash through the blockage on the right. Climb up the stairs and the planks with Gloomy and pick up the Rudder at the top.

Step on the elevator and step down and now move down to the boat and fit the Rudder on the boat. Bring Gloomy back up here again after. Now move Nena to the ladder on the side and climb up.

Now move Gloomy into the elevator and get him to go down.

Now, get Nena into the elevator next to the ladder.

Once it comes down, get Gloomy to get in it and then step out with Nena. Go down to the gear room with Nena and then use the switch to stop the lighthouse from spinning the other way. Now move Nena up to the elevator on the right – where Gloomy was before. And have Gloomy move out of the elevator on the ladder side. So the elevator will come back up for Nena.

Get Nena on the elevator now and go down and past Gloomy and up the ladder on the other side.

Drop the elevator down and get Gloomy to get on it.

Now take Nena up to the very top of the lighthouse. Now step inside the elevator up top.

Step out of the elevator with Gloomy and head to the top. Now move in synch with the light.

Pick up the seat and get Nena to get back to the gear room and make the lights move the other way now. Now, move with Gloomy and the seat down the ramp and step inside the elevator.

Now move to the boat and fit the last part in. Bring Nena to the boat and exit this stage.
Chapter 10: Shimmers of Hope
Bring Nena up to the ladder on the right and climb up. Keep going till you see the ride seat.

Step on the platform for the ride and go down. Bring Gloomy to the platform now. Cross over the platform with Gloomy. Pick up the blue key from the zombie here.

Go up the stairs and over to the other side. Pick up the fuse near the counter. Get Nena to jump over the gap and meet Gloomy on this side. Pick up the fuse with Nena from Gloomy and climb up the ladder. Then unlock the Fireflies.

Pull the lever to get the merry-go-round moving. Now get Nena to move up and flip the switch.

Climb up the ladder with Nena and go past the sitting zombie and down the stairs. Cross over to the other side.

Insert the fuse in the box. Now go back up and past the sitting zombie and press the switch.

Switch to Gloomy and pick up a brick from the pile near the seated zombie with the balloons. Come back to the platform where Nena is and throw the brick at the signage to block the light.

Move with Gloomy towards the light, and then get Nena to turn it off. Cross over and get Gloomy and move the popcorn cart.

Get Nena to come down and move both of them to the Ferris wheel. Use Nena to power it and get Gloomy to get on one of the cars. Get off at the top platform when it stops.

Push down the cart here and get back on the ferris wheel. Meanwhile pick up the lantern from the cart with Nena.

Go to the other side and get a firefly from the other cart.

Now send over the firefly into the lantern on the switch for the Ferris wheel.

Get on a ferris wheel car with Nena and Gloomy will come back down. Switch back to Nena and wait for it to start moving again and once she gets close to the other stopped cart, pull a firefly off that carriage.

Go back down with Nena and get both of them in the same car. Get both of them off at the ledge and use Nena to switch the firefly to the lantern on the door.

Move both of them to the fireflies to exit this area.
Chapter 11: Chilled to the Bone
Push the gate open with Gloomy and get Nena to go to the back of the house to the switch.

Go to the back of the haunted house to pick up a brick with Gloomy.

Get Gloomy on the first elevator on the left that came down. Get in with Gloomy and get the elevators to go back up by Nena hitting the switch. Go to the left and throw the brick at the generator.

Move the bridge and cross to the other side and move the bridge to the end and get on it.

Switch to Nena and move her to the south side of the house and press the switch.

This will rotate the bridge and then you can hop off with Gloomy and push the bridge again. Cross over and push it to the end. Switch to Nena and rotate the bridge again. Rotate again and push it up to the north of the platform.

Switch to Nena and hit the other switch to drop a rail and bring up another rail on the north side but it will drop one in the south side. So bring it down to the south so the bridge goes down.

Cross the bridge with Nena and pick up the fuse on the other side and insert it at the fuse box.

Use the elevator that starts to move now to get Nena up to the platform to get a lantern.

Bring the lantern below to the door near the fireplace.

Once the door opens, get both Nena and Gloomy through and exit this area.
Chapter 12: The Salvaged Sanctum
Avoid the falling rocks and kick away any hooded figures off the platform.

Kick the blocks the doesn’t break on impact towards the Priest’s organ.

After two hits, a homing net will be added to the attacks you need to avoid.

Keep kicking blocks at the organ. After two more hits, the frequency and intensity of the attacks will increase. After two more hits on the organ, you will now need to dodge a laser.

Chapter 13: Fading Hope
Move across the gap with Nena. Climb up the ledge and hide in the cove when the wind hits. Climb up the wall at the end. Hide in the next cove and jump over the gap. Keep making your up next, following the firefly. Hide in the coves as you make your way through or you will freeze.

It’s a straight path so keep following it till you reach the skateboard. Move down to the right and push the rock blocking the way away. Pick up the block from inside the cave and throw it at the ice wall.

Move the second one out of the way as well and switch to Nena. Climb up the wall and pick up the rock from the top.

Hand the rock over to Gloomy and throw this one at the ice wall as well. Now climb up the wall on the right with Nena.

Pick up the rock on the right side and bring it back to Gloomy. Throw this one at the ice wall to finally break it. Go through to the next area and up into the cave with Gloomy, and move the rock away. Next bring Nena into this area and climb down the ledge near the bottom.

Go through to the other side and to the fireflies. Gloomy can now get down to the fireflies as well.
Chapter 14: The Last Glimmer
Move Nena up the slope and hide behind the box. When the big guy passes by nick the key off his back.

Unlock the cage and this will take out one of the lights and another boss fight will start. Run around dodging the claw and the nets shot by the guys on the ledges. Break the cages holding the fireflies.

Three of them are encased in ice. If you break two of them, it will trigger a cutscene. The game will now switch to Nena, go up the slope. Avoid the big guy up there and head to the back. Jump over the gaps.

Cross the bridge to the cage with the green lock. Go past it and then steal the key off the back of the tall guy.

It’s a yellow key, use it to unlock the cage with the yellow lock. Now pick up the green key from the truck door.

Go up the slope and free the fireflies there. Watch the cutscene and then break the cage open that the laser just melted. Now the kite the lasers to the other ice encrusted cages.

Once you have opened all the cages – the ending cutscene will start.
