Grime II Walkthrough Part 6 – Underheads

Welcome to part 6 of our walkthrough for Grime II.

The meeting at Manzil’s House gave us a new set of objectives: to find the three components to forge a weapon. The closest of the three components is to the southwest, past the tunnels of the Underheads.

Reaching the Sunken Faces Surrogate

From Manzil’s House, exit through the lower floor and head right. You’ll see a barricade up ahead. Break it by striking it a couple of times and then continue forward.

You’ll spot a ladder along the way. Use it to head down.

There’s a sign you can read on the left at the bottom, but it’s not important. Grab the ladder and go up a bit. Then jump to the right and use dodge to cross the falling sand.

Continue forward and down. You’ll have to cross another falling sand obstacle when you get out of the tunnel. With that, you’ll officially enter the Underheads.

NOTE: We’ve already explored the eastern side of the zone when we defeated the Mountainborn earlier. But this time, we’ll navigate the western part, unlock the path to the eastern part, and also open the way to the next zone.

You’ll have to fight a Small Prey up ahead for another Hunt Pigment.

Once it’s down, jump to the ledge on the right and dash through the sandfall.

Use the glowing stone to boost jump to the platform on the right and continue forward.

You’ll have to fight two more enemies once you cross another falling sand trap. Take them down and continue heading right.

This will take you to a section where you have to jump across two glowing stones. There’s a Bloodroot Splinter (marked in the image above) that you can pick up here.

Keep heading to the right, and you’ll soon reach the Sunken Faces Surrogate. Activate it to save your progress.

Upgrading Breath Capacity & Unlocking a Shortcut to Faceless Mountains

From the Surrogate, you’ll see a path heading down on your left. This leads to a wall that’s breakable from the other side. There’s a Seal on the other side of the wall, but we can’t reach it just yet.

Continue right, from the Surrogate. The main path is through the lower section. But we’re going to collect a Breath Capacity Upgrade first. Reach the upper floor using Grasphook.

Then continue heading right, past the falling sands, using dash. You’ll reach a room full of glowing stones.

Use them to ascend through the section, and use Grasphook to reach the upper area.

This brings you to another short parkour segment. Use the glowing stones to make your way across, timing your jump when the sands stop falling.

Pick up the Spike Ball from the ground once you make it across. Then drop down the hole on the left.

You can break the floor on the right to open a small shortcut to the Surrogate. When you’re ready, continue along the left path.

The next part is pretty straightforward. Just keep moving up and left until you run into a Dropot Runner. Take it down, then continue going up.

Continue forward, past some breakable walls, until you see a Grasphook ledge above you on the right. Head left first and pick up the Breath Capacity Upgrade from the ground. This should give you a second complete Breath Charge, which means you’ll be able to heal twice in a row.

With that done, keep going up, using the Grasphook ledge you saw on the right. After breaking a wall at the top, you’ll see the ladder that you saw earlier when activating the second Seal in Faceless Mountains. Return to the Surrogate after opening the shortcut.

Activating the First Seal & Unlocking the Underheads Map

Head right, from the Surrogate, and take the lower path past the falling sands next. You’ll have to fight some enemies up ahead.

After the first Stacked Forged enemy, you’ll spot a hole on the ground. Ignore it for now.

Continue heading right. At the far-right wall, break the small rock on the floor to clear a small opening that you can dash through.

Pick up the Spike Ball item on the ground. Then go up.

At the top, you’ll spot an NPC. Talk to them. Run through the dialogue and Absorb/Eat them to Assimilate Forged Little.

Go back out the way you came. There’s a path below you. Drop through the platform.

Go left and stand at the edge, just before the falling sands. If you duck, you’ll see the glow from a green stone below you.

Drop down and jump to the right, then boost jump once again to reach a safe platform.

Go right, and make your way all the way to the bottom while sticking close to the wall. At the bottom, you’ll have to fight another enemy. Take it down and then pick up the Atriums on the ground on your right.

On your left, you’ll see another platform that you can drop through. But sands are falling through it periodically.

Time your descent and drop down using the platforms below you to reach all the way to the bottom. There are some more Atriums in one of the small sections on the left as you descend.

Pick up the Fallen Boulder Legs at the bottom platform before dropping down again.

Take out the enemy below you and head right once more.

You’ll see two green stones leading up. But take the path on the right instead.

This will lead you to a short parkour section. Head up and right.

Pick up the Forged Boulder Hands on your right. Then continue going up using the glowing stones and wall jumps.

Break the wall at the top and keep ascending.

Continue heading up, and head all the way to the top. The Seal will be on your left, but go right first to unlock a shortcut to the Underheads area you explored previously while heading to Kankan.

Take out the Forged Sergeant for another Hunt Pigment.

After defeating them, head right and drop through the platform up ahead. You’ll find some Atriums below you.

Go back out and head right to spot a breakable wall. Break the wall, and the Curling Nails Surrogate will be up ahead. But we don’t have to go there.

Go all the way to the left and use the glowing stones to make your way across and activate the first Seal of the area. Break the wall on the left to unlock a shortcut back to the area where you found the Forged Little. If you’re low on health, make your way back to the Sunken Faces Surrogate if you’re low on resources before moving on.

Activating the Second Seal & Unlocking Area Warp

From the Surrogate, continue heading right and take down the Stacked Forge. Then drop down the hole on its right.

You’ll have to fight some more enemies next. We’ll be taking the left route this time.

There’s a grapple point above you to the left. Grapple up to the area above instead of heading down.

You’ll find the Forged Pick weapon on a platform on the left. Pick it up, then drop down.

There are some more enemies to fight as you drop down and get to the platform on the right.

Go left and descend to the bottom, while avoiding the sands. Take out the enemies once you reach an open chamber.

Head left and head up. The Forged Boulder Chest piece will be on a small platform on the left as you go up.

Continue moving along the path above you and to the left until you reach an area with a Stacked Forged. Take it out.

Take out the enemies here and climb up using the glowing stones.

Go right and up again to find the second Seal on your left. The breakable wall on the right unlocks a shortcut back to the Sunken Faces Surrogate.

Unlocking the Bottom Path to the Surrogate

Return to the area where you fought the Stacked Forged earlier and use the three glowing stones at the upper part of the room to head left.

Go left and dash across the falling sands, use the glowing stones to stay airborne, and dash through the falling sands on the left again. You’ll find another Spike Ball once you cross this section. Dash through the hole in the wall to your right afterward.

Drop to the bottom and dash through the wall on the left.

Complete another short parkour challenge to pick up a Scatter Stone charge up ahead. Then head right and return to the chamber outside.

Go all the way to the right and jump to the middle platform to pick up a Bloodroot Splinter. Continue jumping across the stones to the right.

Drop through the hole on the far-right part and then continue heading down while making your way past the fragile platforms.

Jump across the stone rocks, and you’ll reach a breakable wall on the right. Break it to unlock the path back to the Surrogate. Check your map to get a better sense of where you are.

Reaching Dregbourg

Backtrack to the area shown in the image above and head down.

Go all the way to the bottom section, where you’ll have to fight another Dropot Runner. There’s also a Broken Forged nearby.

Take out the enemies and continue heading left. Now that you have wall jump, you can access the upper area past the falling sand.

Interact with the golden barrier and use Breathcrown to pass through.

From here, you have to continue heading forward while parkouring across short sections involving glowing stones, falling sands, and spikes.

At the end, you’ll spot a Bloodstone Shard that you can collect.

There’s a breakable wall on the left. Dash past the sludgefall to enter Dregbourg.

Take a few steps forward and activate the Dregbourg Entrance Surrogate.
