Unlocking The Air Dash Ability

grime ii walkthrough

From the Dregbourg Entrance Surrogate, start heading left. Continue running left until you reach a bridge and a short trigger.

grime ii walkthrough

To enter the left side, you need to figure out a way to reopen the bridge using the lever.

grime ii walkthrough

Go right and enter through the opening. You’ll find the Throwing Nails here.

grime ii walkthrough

Continue running back toward the Surrogate. Just before it, there’s a path heading down.

After dropping down, you’ll see a pin at the bottom that you can pull to raise a slab from the ground. This lets you reach the platform above you to get back out. Don’t worry about this for now.

grime ii walkthrough

Run to the right, and you’ll spot a Bloodroot Splinter that you can grab before the edge.

grime ii walkthrough

Jump to the wall on the right and go up for some Fragments.

grime ii walkthrough

Drop down from the edge to reach the lower section and head left to encounter a Small Prey. Taking it down will grant you a new Hunt Pigment.

Go right and drop down through a platform to descend to the lower floor. Pick up the Atriums on your right and head left again.

grime ii walkthrough

There is some more useful stuff around the area, but the main idea is to keep heading down. As you reach the bottom, you’ll enter a new zone called Nailglade.

Head right and activate the Town Outskirts Surrogate. From here, if you continue heading right, you’ll eventually encounter a boss. But we’ll save it for when we explore the Nailglade zone.

grime ii walkthrough

For now, start going left from the Surrogate. You’ll reach an edge with some red spikes on the wall below you. Pick up the Bloodroot Splinter. Then drop down to the left.

Keep heading left and dash in through the wall past a Long Finger enemy.

grime ii walkthrough

You’ll find a Discarded Flesh in this chamber. Pick it up to gain the new ability, Air Dash. With that done, you can return to the Dregbour Entrance Surrogate back the way you came. You’ll have to use the new ability to get past some obstacles.

Activating the First Seal & Unlocking the Dregbourg Map

grime ii walkthrough

Return to the bridge from earlier and use Air Dash to activate the lever and reopen the path into Dregbourg.

Go across the bridge and take out the first enemy up ahead. Then continue moving forward.

grime ii walkthrough

You’ll have to fight two more enemies as you go forward. One of these enemies will give you a Hunt Pigment.

grime ii walkthrough

Go left till you reach a spike pit. Use Grasphook to pull out a block and use it to climb to the ledge above.

Continue heading left till you encounter another set of enemies. Take them down, then pull down the block in the middle part of the area, and use them to head up through the opening

grime ii walkthrough

At the top, you can either go left or right. We’ll go right first to activate the first Seal of the zone. Take out the enemy up ahead.

grime ii walkthrough

Use the block on the right to go up.

You can grab another Hunt Pigment on the upper floor by defeating the large enemy.

grime ii walkthrough

Press on to the right and you’ll eventually notice a path heading up past some enemies. Use the pin on the ceiling to pull down a block and use it to head up.

grime ii walkthrough

Keep following the path upward. You’ll find a Bloodroot Splinter along the way.

grime ii walkthrough

Dash past the waterfall of sludge up ahead. Ignore the pins above you. We can’t go there just yet.

grime ii walkthrough

Head to the right, past the waterfall, and drop through the platforms to reach the first Seal. Activate it to unlock the map.

Keep following the path to the right, and you’ll eventually drop back down near the Dregbourg Entrance Surrogate. You’ll find a Prismatic Pearl along the way.

Unlocking a New Breathcrown

Make your way back to the area shown in the image above. This time we’ll be heading left.

grime ii walkthrough

Jump across the gap and take out the three enemies here.

grime ii walkthrough

Head left, and you’ll see a path above you. Remember this place; the main path through the zone is to the left.

Go up and take out the two Forged Pebbles on the upper floor. Then go up the wall on the right. Loot the Atriums on the floor.

grime ii walkthrough

Use the block on the ground to reach the upper section. Then head right.

Drop to the arena on the right and take out the enemy here. Note the sigil on its head. Enemies with this sigil give you a new Breathcrown once you defeat them.

Defeating this enemy gives you the Forged Breathcrown that lets you heal even when your Breathmeter isn’t full, although for a lower amount.

From here, you can continue heading right for some additional loot. The path will eventually loop back to the first Seal. When you’re ready, return to the main path that we talked about earlier.

Unlocking the Burst Jump Ability

From the main path, continue heading left, and you’ll encounter two enemies. Take them down and continue heading left.

At the far left, there’s a hole in the floor that you’ll have to drop through.

Keep going left, pushing past another enemy till you reach an area with some moving blocks. This marks the beginning of a small parkour segment. But it’s not too difficult.

Use the moving blocks to make your way forward.

You’ll eventually drop into a large area. On your right, you’ll see a path above a wall of spikes that you can’t get past. Head left instead.

You’ll see some Forged working in the background. There’s a path heading down. But for now, go all the way to the left.

An NPC will talk to you right before a breakable wall. Break the wall after the dialogue and head inside.

Interact with the Forged Haven Surrogate to save your progress.

Go right and drop down through the platform.

Use a plunging attack on the breakable floor to reach the lower part. There’s an NPC on your left that you can talk to. They will give you a Long Marah Strand.

Go right and drop down again. Grasphook the Discarded Flesh to unlock the Burst Jump ability.

If you keep heading right, after picking up the Burst Jump ability, you’ll be able to fight a Galloping Dropot Runner.

Activating the Second Seal & Unlocking the Area Warp

With the Burst Jump ability unlocked, return to the wall of spikes that you saw as you dropped into the area. Use your new ability to reach the ledge on the right.

Use the moving block to go down, then jump to the right and use Grasphook to pull out the block from the pit. From here, you’ll have to use Burst Jump from the block to get to the right side.

Continue right and use the moving blocks to go down. Use Burst Jump to jump through the ceiling with the enemy.

Fight through the enemies and keep heading right.

The second Seal for the zone can be found up ahead.

Unlocking the Shortcut to Dregbourg Entrance

Continue heading right after activating the second Seal. You’ll reach another moving block section. Instead of going up, we’ll take the long way to pick up some useful loot.

Ride the block down and head right. You’ll have to pull out a block while jumping ot the right and dash under a clearing to reach safety.

Continue following this route past the parkour segments.

You’ll eventually reach a breakable wall just before a Bloodroot Shard. Pick up the shard and break the wall to continue forward.

Go up and take out all the enemies in the area. You’ll get a Hunt Pigment.

Head right and use Burst Jump to jump over the spiked part of the wall and continue ascending.

Use the moving blocks above to go right and break through the ceiling.

Continue moving forward until you spot a path heading down. This leads to the boss arena. There’s also a breakable wall on your right. Break the wall to unlock a shortcut back to the Dregbourg Entrance Surrogate.

When you’re ready, return to the area shown in the image and drop down to head toward the boss fight against Anvilhead.

How to Beat Anvilhead

Anvilhead is a mandatory boss found in Dregbourg who guards one of the three components you have to find for Manzil. The boss wields two giant hammers and constantly creates shockwaves in the arena that you travel across.

For this fight, you’ll want to stick close to the boss and dash behind him whenever he winds up for an attack. The boss is slow, and using a fast, Dexterity weapon will put you at an advantage. But the fight is still manageable with a slow-swinging weapon if you position well.

Many of the boss’s abilities can be dash-countered. So keep an eye out for the round glow indicating you can dash into the boss to deal damage and stagger.

During the fight, the boss will fire a laser beam from the top. The laser beam will track you briefly before firing. You can bait the laser to hit and damage the boss if you dash through him with precise timing.

During the second phase, the boss will gain an additional attack where he sends some homing orbs toward you. These orbs will create a damaging puddle as they hit the ground, and you need to dash or grapple them based on the indicator shown above them to disperse them.

After defeating the boss, you’ll gain the Forged Anvil, which is one of the three components you’re looking for. Absorb the Mold to increase your Breath Capacity.

Head left at the boss arena to reach a breakable wall. This will lead you back to the Forged Haven Surrogate.
