Growbot Walkthrough – Garden Part 2 (The Captain’s Mind)

Stuck in Growbot? This walkthrough will take you through finding the loopy berries for the Captain and using the Protect shield on him.

Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Growbot! At all times, it is recommended that you explore the space station for yourself, talk to everyone you can, and use all the items you can on everything else. There’s no way to lose or die in this game! If you do get stuck, though – consult this guide, where we’ve laid down the steps for how to proceed with the story.

Garden (The Captain’s Mind)
Once inside the Captain’s mind, examine the open book on the Captain’s desk to learn how you can help him.
Specifically, you need three loopy berries, infused in a beverage, to help snap the Captain out of his negative thinking loop.
Pick up the small golden key on the left shelf (next to the golden flowers). Use the key with the glass case above the Captain (containing the locked-up plant).
Use the opened door to get access to the plant… or not. You’re blocked by a shield!
You’ll notice this shield requires some new sounds. You can easily get these by examining the flowers in the room – the golden one on the left is called Chinese Lantern, and the one at the bottom-right is a Sunflower.
Now interact with the shield again. The order you need is: Sunflower, Chinese Lantern, Bio-Lumi, Chinese Lantern, Sunflower, Daisy.
Create a shield key as usual and use the shield key with the shield.
Interact with the open door of the glass case now to get three loopy berries. Now pick up the blue ‘bottle of something’ on the Captain’s desk and use your three loopy berries with this bottle.
Use the mixture with the Captain.
Apparently the Captain is terrified, so you’ll need to administer some impromptu therapy.
Examine the loose paper on the Captain’s desk, to the right of the book you examined before. Here, you’ll learn how to make the Guiding Light shield and help break the captain out of the negative thought loop.
The order you need is: Bio-Lumi, Sunflower, Chinese Lantern, Bio-Lumi, Chinese Lantern, Sunflower.
To create this shield, bring up your Flower Arranger manually from the inventory, click on the ‘Protect’ button in the lower-left side of the Flower Arranger, arrange the flowers are given above, and click on the button to the left (which should say ‘Protect’ instead of ‘Create’ now).
Once you have the Protect shield, use it on the Captain.
The Captain is alright now!
After fixing the Captain, you’ll enter a conversation with him. Ask him how you can help fix the station. You’ll learn that your first task is to fix the Cloud Machine, for which you need to first fix the Water Machine, and then supply the Cloud Machine with solar berries and light pollen.
