Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Growbot! At all times, it is recommended that you explore the space station for yourself, talk to everyone you can, and use all the items you can on everything else. There’s no way to lose or die in this game! If you do get stuck, though – consult this guide, where we’ve laid down the steps for how to proceed with the story.

The Scary Flower

In the inside of the Nursery, you’ll find a large, multi-colored disk. This disk has four quarters, each one sectioned into a different number of sections. You need to press the quaters in descending number of sections: 4, 3, 2, 1. That is to say, press in this order: Purple, Orange, Pink, Red.

Press them quickly in sequence, because if the lights of any of the quarters ‘runs out’, you have to start over again.

This will cause the Scary Flower to appear. Interact with it to get the flower sound from it.

In the upper area of the screen, you’ll find the Head Gardener has appeared. You can talk to them to learn more, including the formula for the Rolling Ripple attack shield. Otherwise, the formula is also present in your guidebook, under the Flower Arranger section.

The formula is: Scary Flower, Lily, Bio-Lumi, Scary Flower, Lily, Bio-Lumi.

Open up the Flower Arranger, arrange the flowers as given above, and press the ‘Attack’ switch along the bottom of the hexagon. Then, press the Attack button on the left, where you would have typically found ‘Create’.

With the Shield now in your inventory, head left from the Coral Reef, all the way to the first maze we encountered in the ponds.

From the Coral Reef, go left twice and up once to reach the maze.
