Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough of Chapter Three, Returning Home in Halloween: The Game.
Halloween: The Game, developed by IllFonic, is based on John Carpenter’s 1978 film Halloween. In the single-player mode, you play as Michael Myers, while in the multiplayer mode, you can even play as the Heroes. For more information, check out the game’s Steam page.
For the other chapters, please check out the game’s walkthrough hub. Here, in this guide, we will provide you with a walkthrough of Chapter Three: Returning Home in Halloween: The Game.

Chapter Three Challenges
As usual, there are six challenges in this chapter too, and the first one tasks you with eliminating Jennifer using the campfire. The second challenge tasks you with executing Thomas using the Weight Bench. In the third challenge, you have to use the Motorcycle to kill Marcus.
To complete challenge four, you will have to kill both Gloria and Keith. In order to complete challenge five, you have to kill three targets with a Wood-Axe. Lastly, to complete the sixth challenge, you will have to kill all of the residents in the neighborhood.
Now, these challenges can take time, especially the last one. So, there is definitely no need to complete all of them unless they offer an item you really want. Also, you can come back to these chapters to complete the challenges later on, which is what we would recommend doing.
There is no need to try to complete all of the challenges in a single run, as that can simply become tiring and frustrating.
Halloween: The Game – Chapter Three: Returning Home Walkthrough
As you start Chapter Three, Returning Home, in Halloween: The Game, a cutscene will commence. The cutscene will feature Michael Myers’ home, which you have to return to. That is also going to be the first objective, so simply head to the home.
As you get close to the house, a cutscene will commence, and after that, you will get a new objective.
Go To The Back Of The House
You now have to go to the back side of the house, so go ahead and turn right. Then, head to the back side. Enter the house from the back door, and do note that the game has shifted to first-person mode for now.
As you enter the home, you will be tasked with getting a kitchen knife. Then, open the top drawer, and you will get the kitchen knife. It seems like this is an event that took place in the past.
Sneak Upstairs
Do note that you cannot walk quickly, so you will have to bear with the slow pace and go upstairs like this. You have to be sneaky, so sprinting will simply ruin that. Now, do not instantly head upstairs, as someone will be coming down the stairs. Wait for them to leave the house, and then go up the stairs.
Once you are upstairs, you will get the task of putting on the clown mask. Do so, and then you will get your next objective.
Kill Judith Myers
Judith Myers is in the room to the right of where you found the mask. She is doing her hair, so you will have to sneak behind her and take her out. Once you are behind her, press the left mouse button, and then it seems like you are back in the present. You will also be introduced to a new mechanic.
The pop-up will tell you about the new special ability, Detection Pulse. This ability is very helpful because now you will not have to worry about finding the victims. Detection Pulse sends out a pulse of energy that outlines the radius in which the victim is located.
Chase And Kill The Intruder
Now, you need to head right and pick up the wood axe. After that, you have to chase and kill the intruder. So, what you need to do is head down the stairs and then get out of the house using the back door. Up ahead, you will notice a person along with a dog standing there.
That person’s name is Vagrant, so make sure to use the sneak ability, as he will not notice you if you are still inside the house. As he also has a dog with him, the dog can attack you and give away your position. You simply have to kill the intruder, and it will only take two swings with the axe.
You will now also be introduced to the Bloodthirst Meter, and it increases as you stalk and kill people. So, as you increase this meter, Michael will become stronger. That said, do note that the Bloodthirst Meter can be lost by standing in the light, taking damage, or getting knocked down.
Also, if you reach the third tier of the meter, you will be able to perform special executions.
Hide The Dead Body
Now that you have taken down the intruder, you have to hide his body too. There is a shack ahead, so you can hide the body there. Once you have done that, a cutscene will appear, showing you where the other targets are.
Find And Kill Three Nearby Special Targets
The first target, which is not the special target, is going to be just ahead, where you will also see a giant question mark on the map. She will be looking out of the window, but from where you are standing, she will not notice you. So, stalk her and then enter the house from the northeast side.
Make sure to be sneaky and then execute her. With that, your meter will reach tier two. Then, hide her body and leave the house from the other door. After that, use the new ability you received to see where the targets are, and you will see the covered area.
Then, go ahead just a little bit, and a cutscene will commence. The cutscene will feature Thomas, so now you have to take him down.
Kill Thomas
Do note that you need to execute him using the Weight Bench, so make sure your stalk reaches level three to do that. From where you are standing, complete the level three stalk and then sneak behind him. Then, grab him and take him close to the barbell.
Once done, perform the execution, and the challenge will be completed. You have also taken down one special target. Do note that there is a telephone line on the right side, so cut that. Then, carry Thomas and hide his body. Once you have done that, exit the garage and then head left inside the house.
Kill Keith
The man who appeared in the last cutscene will be inside. His name is Keith, and challenge four is about killing him and Gloria. So, build up the stalk when he comes in, from where you can see him from the entrance of the house, and then sneak behind him.
Once you have killed him, exit the house from the front door. Then, head to the right, and you will be able to see Josephine through the window. Build your stalk and then enter the house to take her down too. Then, exit the house from where you entered and head left.
Keep going left and then enter the home to take down Richard. If the meter has reached tier three by now, you can perform a Bloodthirst execution. Hold the right mouse button and then enter the digits correctly to perform it. Then, exit the house, and there is another resident in the house right ahead. Take him down, then exit his house and go right.
Kill Marcus
As you head right, a cutscene will commence featuring Marcus. He is the same guy who managed to escape from the bar, so it is time to take him down. First of all, destroy the phone line right ahead, and then you will notice that Marcus has exited the house to go to his bike.
That is when you have to build the stalk to level three, and once you have done that, head to him and finish him off. Make sure you perform the Motorcycle execution in order to complete the challenge. Gloria is the one featured in the previous cutscene, so enter the house and take her down to complete another challenge.
Now, there is just one special target left to take down. So, head out of the house, take a left, and then take another left. From there, keep going ahead, and a cutscene will commence.
Kill Jennifer
You now have to take down the last special target, Jennifer. So, what you need to do is build the stalking tier to three, and it will be instant, mainly because your Bloodthirst Meter is very likely to be at level three. So, once you have done that, head to the right side of the shack-type building and approach Jennifer.
It does not seem like she moves from this spot, so grab her and then take her to the campfire. Then, perform an execution, and now you just have to escape the neighborhood unnoticed.
Escape The Neighborhood Unnoticed
To do so, you simply have to press Q to enter the Phase Jump, where no one except dogs can sense you. Then, simply head to the marked area, and once you have done that, a cutscene will commence. With that, Chapter Three, Returning Home, comes to an end in Halloween: The Game.
