Act 2: Citadel of Song
Grand Gate Section
Opening the Gate and Buying the Map
Go to the right and step on the switch to open the gate. It’s the next area pay the Rosaries to get a map of the Grand Gate.
Elevator Crash Sequence
Exit through the right side and in the next area, get on the elevator and hit the switch.
The elevator will start moving down. It will stop and slow down, keep hitting the switch till it breaks.
Temporary Bench System (15 Rosaries)
The elevator will go crashing down. Go to the right and play the 15 Rosaries to pull up a bench.
Rest now and know that these benches are temporary. You will need 15 Rosaries every time you need to rest.
Go to the right and you will exit into Underworks.
Entering Underworks Area
Climbing the First Platforms and Defeating Shelled Enemies
Jump up on the first platform on the right and keep climbing. Enemies here are quite tough, they will shell up to defend themselves.
Activating the Left Switch
Hit the switch on the left.
Finding the Underworks Map
Reaching the Map Platform
This will drop a platform on the far end. Get up on it and keep going up till you see the platform on the left.
Inside you will find a map of the Underworks.
Secret Area Behind the Grate
Break the grate on the left to access a secret area.
Collecting the Bone Scroll
Watch for the steam and go through till you reach the end, and you can pick up a Bone Scroll.
Go back out now. Go to the right side platform and go through.
Navigating Grinding Gears and Hazards
Timing Dashes Through Sharp Gears
In the next area, you will come across two sharp gears grinding and dropping sharp debris. There isn’t space to jump, so wait and dash through.
Crossing Temporary Disappearing Platforms
Skip over the gap and in the next bit you will get temporary platforms that get eaten up quick, so move fast.
Avoiding Moving Blocks with Sharp Edges
Go through and exit. In the next area, there is a block with sharp edges moving up and down. Wait and go through.
Smashing Blocks Section
Timing the Two-Block Passage
Go down and to the left. You will see two blocks smashing into each other.
Once they separate, drop down to the left. Go down the shaft here and exit to the left.
Defeating the Big Bug Enemy
Inside is a big bug that you need to take out.
Second Secret Area with Spinning Fan
Once again break the grate on the left and go through to another secret area.
Collecting the Shard Bundle
There is a spinning fan here, jump over it and get a Shard bundle at the end.
Exit back out and then jump across to the platform leading out to the right. In the next area, jump over the gears and dash through the moving block. Do the same again and keep moving to the right.
As you kill enemies, you will notice that the Rosaries drop is very very low. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have farmed up some Rosaries in Act 1 before coming here.
Wall Switch and Locked Pathways
Opening the Right Pathway
Go to the right and hit the switch on the wall.
This will open the pathway to the right. Go through and leave this area.
There is no point in jumping over to the other side and going through, as this path is locked out.
Finding the Frayed Rosary String
Instead, go up and to the right.
Inside you can take out two bugs and pick up a Frayed Rosary String. Go back out and go back up. You will notice there is a bench path to the left.
Temporary Bench Area
Reaching the 15 Rosary Bench
Jump over the platforms and keep moving to the right. Jump on the platforms you see up ahead and hit the switch and go up.
Pay 15 Rosaries and rest at the bench.
Finding the Shard Chest
There is a chest full of shards at the top here.
Confession Booth (25 Rosary Scam)
On the right path by the benches you can find a confession booth that takes 25 Rosaries.
Basically, the Citadel will have just scammed you out of 25 Rosaries.
Gauntlet Fight Section
Collecting Rosaries on Upper Path
Drop back down and go to the left. Jump over the temporary platforms and keep going.
Exit through the left. In the left area, take the first path leading upwards to get a few Rosaries.
Fighting the Big Enemy and Gauntlet
Go to the left and fight another big guy and a subsequent gauntlet.
Completing the Arduous Battle
This can be a long and arduous task. Keep at it. Go to the left when it is done and exit this area.
Final Exploration Before Choral Chambers
Finding Rosaries in Top Left Corner
Go up and to the right.
In this area go to the left. Take care of the enemies, explore the area. At the top left corner you can find Rosaries.
Collecting Central Shaft Shard Chest
There is a chest of Shards up on the left in the central shaft.
Activating the Top Switch
At the very top you can find a switch.
Free Bench Location
The path up there leads to a bench that you don’t need to pay for. Rest and head to the left.
You will now be in the Choral Chambers.
