Honeycomb: The World Beyond – Walkthrough Part 1: Settling On Sota7

Honeycomb: The World Beyond Walkthrough

Honeycomb: The World Beyond is a survival adventure game where you play the role of Henessy. In this alien world, you’ll have to explore and discover plants and local wildlife that thrive on this planet. Furthermore, you’ll also have to build and craft structures to ensure that Henessy can survive by herself in this strange new world.

For more information about the game, please visit its official Steam page here.

Arrival In Sota7

As Henessy wakes up inside the pod, she’ll be suffering from a headache. The tutorial asks you to open the menu and select the Status option, where you can see what negative effects Henessy is currently suffering from, alongside a relevant treatment option.

Look around. You’ll find a fabricator to your right, and a locker to your left. Open the locker and take everything inside it. You’ll obtain an Analyzer, several other essential resources, and three painkillers.

There’s also a mirror inside the pod that you can use to alter your hairstyle and costume. Now, open the menu and select the inventory option. Pick the Painkiller Pills from here and use them.

This will treat Henessy’s headache. After that, interact with the door of the pod to step into Sota7.

After you’re out in the open, follow the path from the pod to reach an elevated spot. Once you get there, IVS will make its introduction. It’s an AI OS that will be helping you on your journey.

Talk to IVS and open the menu. Navigate to the Databank option and read the bioengineering goals document from there.

The document mentions that you have to study all of the flowering plants on Sota7 and scan all large animal species. You’ll also have to investigate and document any unusual phenomena that may impact the mission’s success as per the document.

However, the Bioengineering Goals document also mentions an assisting team, but there are no signs of anyone else on this planet.

Crafting Essential Tools

Approach any nearby flowering plant. IVS will ask you to activate AR mode. You can activate AR mode by pressing the Right Stick button on a controller.

Once you see anything that is unidentified, you’ll get the option to open the pie menu and equip the Analyzer in one of the empty slots. Do so and select the Analyzer from the pie menu. Use it to scan the unidentified object.

Even after scanning, you won’t be able to pick any items from the plants or the ore deposits unless you have tools. To obtain tools, you’ll have to find some Titanium. Open the map to find a Titanium deposit near the landing pod.

Unlike most other resources, you can pick titanium off the ground without any tools. Pick at least 3 units of titanium and return to the landing pod. There will be a fabricator inside. This device can be used to craft tools.

At the Fabricator, you’ll need to craft a Chisel, a Trowel, and a Pruner. These three tools will let you gather most of the resources early on.

After obtaining the tools, look for the Sunbeam Lumus Fruit. It’s abundant near the Landing Pod area. You can open the map to locate the nearest resource point for this item.

Follow the updated quest marker, and you’ll find the Sweet Tarax plant. This one has more nutritional value than the Sunbeam Lumus, and you can also use it to craft Textile Fiber.

Gather and consume the Sweet Tarax. Note that this will be your primary source for quenching Thirst until you build a Water Dispenser.

Drone Builder

The Drone Builder is an item that allows you to build structures. Open the Blueprints option in the menu and pin the Drone Builder.

You’ll need three Carbon Fiber, five Magnetite, and a Wiring Kit to craft the Drone Builder. IVS marks a location on the map where you can gather most of these resources.

Carbon Fiber requires Graphite, and the Wiring Kit requires Silver and Copper. All of these resources can be found in the marked area.

When you reach the marked area, you’ll find a location here, made up of hexagonal blocks and full of pink flowers. You can find all of the resources here, except for Copper.

To find copper, you’ll have to go to the southeast edge of the marked area. Going through this path will let you reach the landing pod more quickly as well.

After returning to the Landing Pod, interact with the Fabricator. You’ll have to craft Carbon Fiber and the Wiring Kit first.

You can then craft the Drone Builder. You can equip the Drone Builder to the pie menu in the same way as you did with the Analyzer. Now, the game asks you to locate a suitable spot for a base. The quest marker will lead you to the riverbank. It’s a good spot because you can reach it by following the river if you’re exploring the nearby areas.

Setting Up The Multiroom

After reaching the designated area to build your home, you’ll first have to build a water pump in the river. Equip the Drone Builder and open the build menu. Select the Water Pump from there and place it in the river.

Next, you’ll have to build a wind turbine. The wind turbine can’t be placed on water, but you’ll still have to try to place it as close to the Water Pump as possible.

After that, you’ll have to build a Multiroom. It is a little elevated from the ground. Once you’ve placed the Multiroom, use the Drone Builder to craft a door. This will allow you to enter the room.

As you step inside the Multiroom, you’ll have to set up a bee-pipe. There can only be one bee-pipe in a multiroom, and you can only place it in the centre.

To build most of the other essentials, you’ll need Bauxite. There’s a deposit near the river where you can pick some up. It looks like clay from a distance, so you can spot it fairly easily.

Next, you’ll have to set up a Fabricator and a Multicooker. This will eliminate the need to run back to the Landing Pod to access the Fabricator. You should also set up a bed if you’re running low on rest. Use the Fabricator to turn Sweet Tarax into Textile Fiber and use that, alongside a unit of Bauxite, to build a bed.

Growing Plants

Harvesting fruits can sometimes get you seeds. You can also interact with fruits to get their seeds directly. Once you have a working Multiroom, you can set up growbeds here. Just put some seeds into the growbed and wait until the plant fully matures and produces fruits.

There’s a lot of depth to growing plants. If you place two different types of seeds that share the same family into the same growbed, you can get a hybrid. But you won’t have to worry about that now. For now, your focus should be to get more fruit so you can sustain yourself better.

Building A Water Dispenser

To quench your thirst more effectively and to stay hydrated, you’ll have to build a water dispenser. You’ll first have to craft a filter at the fabricator.

You’ll need a unit of titanium, a filter, and a wiring kit to craft the Water Dispenser. Make sure you’re getting enough power and water from the Water Pumps and Wind Turbines outside of the multiroom to keep the Water Dispenser functioning.

If you’re not getting any water bottles out of it, you can go out of the multiroom and place a water pump and a wind turbine near the area where you’ve placed the Water Dispenser inside of the multiroom.

Crafting A Hoverboard

The first Hoverboard that you can build is called Viper. You’ll have to build a Hover Generator before you can build the Viper. Both of these items can be crafted at a Soldering Station.

Once you’ve crafted the Viper, you can equip it in the open world to traverse. Keep in mind that it deteriorates fairly quickly, and you’ll have to craft one again after it becomes useless.

IM Pump

Once you’ve got a functioning home, the IVS will tell you that your chemical shield is no longer working, and you’ll have to craft your own device to negate the alien pathogens of Sato7.

This feature works like radiation. The longer you spend outside in the open world, the IM meter will keep dropping. You can restore it easily if you enter an EON structure, such as your Multiroom or the Landing Pod.

To craft an IM Pump 1, you’ll need three units of Mars Filoy, three units of Green Naga, 3 units of Graphite, and 1 unit of Silver.

You can get Graphite and Silver easily, but for Green Naga and Mars Filoy, you’ll have to look around. IVS marks a location on the map where you can find both types of flora.

After obtaining all the required resources, return to your multiroom. Interact with the Fabricator and use the resources to craft an IM Pump 1.

This will provide you with minimal protection against the alien pathogens. Note that the further you stray from the landing pod, the stronger these pathogens will become, and your protective rating will go down more quickly. You’ll be able to craft more powerful versions of the pump later on.
