In Metal Gear Solid Delta, blending into your surroundings can make or break a mission. Pick poorly, and you’ll be spotted in no time, with armed soldiers swarming your position.

To save you the trouble, we’ve rounded up every camouflage option available in the game, along with how you can track each one down or unlock it. Naked

You start the game with this camo in your inventory but it doesn’t provide any benefit in game.

Olive Drab

You start with this all pupose camo in your inventory. It’s useful at the beginning of the game.

Tiger Stripe

This is a started camo and its the one that lasts the longest in early game – Dremuchij, Dolivodno and Rassvet areas get mileage out of it.

Leaf

Another starting camo, it’s good for the first mission and the early parts of Operation Snake Eater. One of the best ones for tall grass.

Tree bark

Another starting option, this is great to blend in with trees.

Choco Chip

The Choco Chip camo is one of those hidden goodies you can snag while sneaking around Bolshaya Past South. To grab it, start by slipping under the fence gap on the right-hand side, then work your way left across the area.

Move slow here—there are Claymores scattered around. Eventually, you’ll come across a tree you can climb. Walk out to the end of that branch, drop down, and you’ll land on the other side of the fence.

From there, stick to the right. You’ll run into a little pool of water with a path running alongside it. Follow that path and you’ll discover the Splitter Uniform. Look ahead and you’ll also spot a Kerotan Frog sitting at the base of the trees.

Before you move on, deal with the guard stationed on the left. Once he’s out of the picture, head toward the nearby fence gap he was covering. Pass through, and check the hollow tree stump near the area’s edge—you’ll find the Choco Chip camo tucked inside.

And if you somehow miss it here? Don’t worry—you can also snag another one on the second-floor balcony of the Graniny Gorky Lab.

This one is good for Deserts, mountains and rocky areas in general.

Splitter

while sneaking around Bolshaya Past South. To grab it, start by slipping under the fence gap on the right-hand side, then work your way left across the area.

Move slow here—there are Claymores scattered around. Eventually, you’ll come across a tree you can climb. Head up, turn around, and you’ll notice a GA-KO perched on a nearby branch. Walk out to the end of that branch, drop down, and you’ll land on the other side of the fence. From there, stick to the right. You’ll run into a little pool of water with a path running alongside it. Follow that path and you’ll discover the Splitter Uniform.

Places like Groznyj Grad, the Graniny Gorky buildings, and the Ponizovje Warehouse are great locations to use this camo.

Raindrop

You’ll cross the famous bridge in Dolinovodno twice in MGS Delta, but the Raindrop camo only becomes available during your second trip through the area.

Start in the Dolinovodno area and deal with the guard by shooting down the hornet’s nest—the swarm will chase him off for you. Once you’re across, hang a left and follow the narrow trail that winds down underneath. The ledge is tight, so press yourself against the wall to avoid falling. Inside, you’ll find the Raindrop camo.

Good for use in the rain. I don’t remember it raining even once.

Squares

This is another starting camo – this is useful during the Krasnogorje Mountain missions.

Water

To get the Water camo, you will want to head to the Bolshaya Past Base. There, in the center of the area, will be a large building. Climb on top of it via the red ladder on the front of the building and head into the back left corner of the roof to collect the Water Camo.

Good for underwater areas in Ponizovje South, Ponizovje West and Chyornyj Prud.

Black

This is also a starting camo. This is great for dark areas during the night. .

Snow

You will find the Snow camo in the Peschera Cave. When you make it to the Peschera Cave, stick to the path on the right. It’ll lead you into a chamber where a skeleton is sprawled out on the ground next to an M37 shotgun. Grab the weapon, then drop down into prone position—you’ll notice a small crawlspace hidden just behind the skeleton. Squeeze through the opening and you’ll come out in another cavern. Inside is the Snow camo.

This camo is great for the final boss fight in the game.

Animals

Every boss in MGS Delta has a special reward if you take them down without lethal weapons. You should already have the Mk22 tranquilizer pistol in your gear—equip it when the fight starts and use it to put Ocelot to sleep instead of finishing him with live rounds. You’ll automatically get access to it when you move on to the next zone, the Chyornaya Peschera Branch.

This is one of the first camouflages you will get with an effect that activates when the camo is worn.

Hornet Stripe

To unlock the Hornet Stripe camo, you’ll need to take down The Pain without killing him. Keep up the pressure until The Pain’s stamina is gone, and he’ll drop the Hornet Stripe camo once the battle ends. You’ll find it sitting on one of the small islands in the middle of the cave’s lake. To get there, head toward the exit door and take the path on the right. Follow it all the way to the end, then leap across to the nearby island.

This camo is good for desert and rocky areas. It also deters bugs like leeches and spiders, and also allows you to harness the power of hornets.

Spider

You get this by taking out The Fear non-lethally.

It is the best camo in the game in terms of stealth but it reduces your stamina significantly.

Moss

You have to earn it by holding The End up at least three times during your fight. This involves sneaking up on him so quietly that he does not hear you and pulling a gun on him before he notices you. After you have successfully held him up, point the gun at his head or crotch to get him to wiggle.

The Moss camo is easily one of the most useful outfits in the entire game. It blends perfectly into forest and jungle environments, giving you an outstanding camo index—and if you pair it with the Woodland face paint, you can even hit a full 100% camo rating. On top of that, it comes with a unique bonus: while wearing it, Snake can actually regain stamina in sunlight through photosynthesis.

Fire

You earn it by defeating The Fear non-lethally. After successfully defeating The Fury non-lethally, the camo will be sitting in the rubble to your left. Make sure you remember to pick it up.

Spirit

You get this camo by defeating The Sorrow non-lethally. It also allows you to sneak silently, giving you far more stealth prowess. It also allows you to reduce enemies’ stamina more efficiently in CQC, making it a great option to use during your first boss fight against Volgin.

Cold War

You get this by defeating Volgin non-lethally. This is great for the motorcycle chase following the Volgin fight.

Snake

Defeat The Boss non-lethally in her boss fight encounter.

GA-KO

When worn, it allows you to hear the call of Kerotans, so you can hone in on them and find them more easily. The GA-KO camo is found in Chyornyj Prud, the large lake area.

Fly

Hidden in a bathroom stall on floor 2F of Graniny Gorki Lab.

Desert Tiger

You can get your hands on it at the very beginning by choosing the “I like MGS2” option when starting your game. If you do that, the Desert Tiger camo will be in your pack when you collect it from the tree. You can also get this camo in NG+.

DPM

You can get it at the very beginning by choosing the “I like MGS1” option when starting your game. If you do that, the DPM camo will be in your pack when you collect it from the tree, or during NG+.

Flecktarn

AUSCAM

By choosing the “I like MGS1” option when starting your game or in NG+.

Banana

Grenade

Officer

The Officer camouflage is obtained from Raikov, the officer you’ll need to deal with inside the Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab. To secure both the outfit and the mask, make your way to the East Wing of the lab. Head upstairs, turn right, and watch out for the guard stationed around the corner before moving in on Raikov.

Maintenance

The Maintenance uniform comes in handy during your time in the Shagohad Hangar. Wearing it lets you pass as one of the workers on site, making it much easier to move around without drawing attention.
