Hytale is a sandbox adventure game that blends block-based building with exploration, RPG combat, and creative tools. Get ready to fight creatures, craft tools and armor, gather resources, and build your base. Build anything block by block, and use in-game and external tools to design models.
You can play with friends on official or custom servers and create your own gameplay experiences. Each zone and biome has different resources and enemies. Hidden dungeons offer rare gear and blueprints.
Part 1 of the Hytale walkthrough includes punching and using tools to collect wood, stone, and early materials. Use a Workbench and Furnace to make stronger gear. Keep your hunger filled with food you grow or find to maintain health.

Getting Started
After getting inside the world filled with enemies, your first objective is to craft basic tools, gather resources, and kill enemies. The Exploration mode required you to explore an Echo of Orbis. Build, craft, and survive. You will find yourself in the First Gate of the Echo in Emerald Wilds.
You can collect the Stone Rubble from your left. Press the TAB button to open the inventory and M to open the world map. Collect all the essential items by pressing the ‘F’ key from here to use them later in the game. Approach the exiting gate in front of you and press the ‘F’ key to open it.
Gather Useful Resources
Once you make your way out, your objective is to collect the useful resources and explore the zone. Punch the tree to get the sticks and wood. Find the Berry Bush from outside and the ‘F’ key to harvest the Wild Berries. You can consume them directly to gain some energy. Punching the grass allows you to obtain the Plant Fiber that is required to craft new items.
Craft Crude Sword
After moving in a straight direction, you came across the pile of sticks. Make sure to collect and add them to your inventory. Open the inventory to craft the weapon. You have the Crude Sword (one-handed weapon) to craft using the required materials. Use 2xAny Rubble, 2x Plant Fiber, and 2xStick to craft this sword. You don’t need to interact with the workbench to craft this weapon.
You can use the Crude Sword to deal damage to enemies you encounter during the journey. This weapon deals less damage, but it can make a huge difference in the early game. The enemies will rush towards you and attack with a powerful hit with the weapon. You can block their attack and follow up with a powerful attack to eliminate them.
Defeat Enemies You Encounter
Defeating the first two enemies allows you to gain Scrap Sword, Linen Scraps, and Bone Fragments. Continue exploring the area and collect the useful resources. You have the health and stamina bar. The health depletes when you take damage from the enemies. The stamina bar is mitigated while running fast and attacking the enemies with a weapon.
Enter the Cave
Collect the Brown Common Mushroom from the ground and harvest a mature carrot. Make sure you have enough resources to use the latter to craft new items. Eventually, you will find a cave while collecting the items. Get inside the cave and collect the Brown Cap Mushroom.
Get Copper Ore
Use the torch to light your way. Add one of your Torches to your Utility Wheel to hold a torch and mine at the same time. Your objective is to find the Copper Ore. You can mine in the cave using the Crude Pickaxe. Open the inventory and use 2xAny Rubble, 2xPlant Fiber, and 2xStick to craft the pickaxe.
You need 1x Plant Fiber, 1x Tree Sap, and 1x Stick to craft a Crude Torch. Be aware of the deadly wolf that can attack you. Equip your weapon to eliminate this enemy to obtain Raw Wildmeat and Light Hide. Find the Copper Ore and use the Pickaxe to mine it.
Get Inside the Ancient Tomb
Use your sword to defeat all the enemies in the cave. The copper nodes are also attached to the ceiling, so make sure to check them. After collecting the Copper Ore, make your way out of the cave. Use 2x Any Rubble, 2x Plant Fiber, and 2x Stick to craft Crude Hatchet.
Find the opening of the tomb and get inside to pick up Azure Fruit. Collect all the essential items from here and take the stairs on the left to go underground.
Once you reach down, you will find a big enemy in front of you. Equip your sword and start attacking the enemy to kill it. The enemy’s one hit can take much of your health, so maintain a good distance. Defeating this enemy allows you to gain Emerald, Cobblestone, and Green Crystal Shards. Explore this area thoroughly and collect the other useful items.
Edge of the Echo
Interact with the high roll chest to get your hands on Copper Ores, Medium Leather, and a pickaxe. Get inside the portal to move into the Forgotten Temple in Edge of the Echo. Collect the Marble Rubble and Quartzite Rubble from the left. Make your way out of the temple and continue collecting the useful items.
The zone is filled with multiple wild animals like deer and rabbits. This area acts as a hub where you unlock the Memory feature and interact with several NPCs. There’s a one-eyed NPC (Trader) just to the right of the temple.
Approach this NPC and press the ‘F’ key to trade. The Rootling Merchant is just in front of the trader. You can purchase new items like Salt, Berry Bush, and Apple Pie by using the Essence of Life.
Return to the Old Map
Interact with the Heart of Orbis in the temple to unlock the ability to collect memories from the creatures. Explore the area thoroughly and return to the Heart of Orbis to record the memories to obtain the rewards. Make your way to the portal to return to the previous zone.
Open the base and mark the location of your base. Continue moving towards your base using the compass. Keep collecting the required items while making your way towards the base. Use the Crude Hatchet to break any wooden pillar to obtain Sticks, Beech logs, and Plant fiber.
On your way, you will find a cave with a bear inside. Equip your weapon to start dealing damage to this deadly enemy. Doing so allows you to unlock a new ‘Grizzly Bear’ memory.
Get Inside the Large Building
Eventually, you will find yourself in Seedling Woods in Emerald Wilds. There are a lot of enemies in this area, so make sure you have maximum health and a sword equipped. Make your way inside the large building and take the stairs to move up. You can find a bed on the top-most floor, along with the small ancient chests.
Take the stairs down and move out of the building. Open the map to mark the location on the river on the right side of the map. Follow the compass to get to the set location. Collect the Wild Berries and consume them to gain some health. The rats and rabbits here will attack you, so stay alert.
Unlock New Memories
The enemies also use the arrow and bow to attack you. You need to quickly close the gap and use the sword to eliminate them. The cows and hens can also attack you, so keep holding the weapon while traversing. Defeat any creature you find on your way to unlock a new memory.
You will reach the abandoned area filled with multiple enemies. Use your best weapon, like a sword or an axe, to eliminate them. Be aware that enemies can also block your attack, so use the right strategy to tackle them. Take the stairs up to find the small check. Interacting with it allows you to gain Rusty Steel Halbert, Copper Hatchet, Lesser Stamina Potion, Iron Ore, and other useful items.
Explore the Abandoned Place
You need to get inside the cave, so open the inventory and add the torch to the wheel. Take the stairs to move up and interact with the small chest to acquire Copper Battleaxe and Copper Ore. Use the stairs to go to the bottom floor and interact with another chest to get Rusty Iron Shortbow. This weapon allows you to deal damage to enemies from a safe distance.
More deadly enemies will spawn during the night that can attack you from anywhere. Continue exploring the map, and defeating the enemies at night allows you to gain Essence of the Void. You will eventually find a house with the railway track.
Open the inventory and select the Tavern Bed to put it in the quick bar. Place it on the top floor of the house and press the F key to interact, allowing you to set a respawn point. If you die while fighting the enemy, you will respawn from this house.
Get out of the house and continue exploring the map. That’s where the Part 1 walkthrough of Hytale concludes.
