Day 1 in inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories starts off simple, but there’s already a lot going on beneath the surface. You’re just getting familiar with the store, the routine, and the steady flow of customers—but even here, small choices and interactions begin to shape the tone of your story. Take your time, pay attention to details, and don’t rush—this first day quietly sets up everything that follows.

23^rd August 1993

After a short intro cutscene in which Makoto speaks to Aunt Hina, press R to bring up your notebook.

You need to restock the shelves and open the store. You can check the Work Desk in front of you. Among the Documents above the work desk, you will find a postcard from Aunt Hina that she never sent out.

You will also find a phone number for Matsuda’s Treasures – 335-111. Check the filing cabinet on the left and you will notice you cant open the bottom drawer without a key.

You can call the number you just found from the wall phone but it will direct you to an answering machine. Next, check the notice board for the sidequest “Lost Ring”.

Check the storage shelf for a note from Aunt Hina.

Stock up on the “Tokyo Pop Soda”. Fill up the basket and go to the store floor. On the way to the floor, check Makoto’s jacket’s pockets for some coins.

Go to the Soft Drink Refrigerator and restock the soda.

Check all the shelves in the store to see if anything is misaligned. You can make a cutesy full length pic with the Dairy Delight Milks.

Next, check out the promotional flyers on the table.

Check Charlie’s Notepad next to the Flyers. Then, go back to the store room and pick up the Ramen Express Luxe (Hot & Spicy) and the Ramen Express Savory Curry from the shelves.

Go back on the floor and restock the noodles display. Move the bread from the fridge to the baked goods section as well.

After the final check around the place, flip the sign to open the doors. Speak to the first customer that walks in: it’s Chief Matsuda. Getting to know him will unlock an achievement.

When the Chief asks for help, go talk to him. He will want your opinion on which noodles to get.

Suggest the Luxe to him. He will once again ask for help to find a hypoallergenic cat food.

Give him the Cat Food Special with Chicken. Give it to him and he will move on. When the Chief is done, check him out.

You need to rotate the product so that the bar code is up to scan them.

When the chief hands you the cash give him change back. 40 Yen in coins would be good.

The chief will ask you to show him a sign that his life will improve. Pick any of the options that fit your character.

I chose to cheer him up. He won’t leave the store so go talk to him again.
