Day 3 in inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories starts us finding a key to the locked drawer. We place orders to restock the dwindling stock and spend the night with Chief Maksuda.

August 25^th, 1993

The shift starts with a couple of choices.

Check out the sky and then play a bit of gacha. But you need Capsules. Head to the storage room. But first place the Zen tea in the sales section. In the storage room, check the notice board to find a note about the Ink Pad. The ink pad is running low and needs ink which is locked in the drawer and you need to find the key. You will also see that you need to remove the leftover products and stock Zen Leaf Lemon Tea and Koro-Pori Corn snack in the sales section. Finally, you will see a notice that says: if there are any products with no replacements on the storage shelf, call Kiyoshi’s and order more.

Next check the storage shelf and you will see Milk is short. Call Kiyoshi’s to order more. They are on speed dial. You can place the order for both kinds of milk or just any type. I ordered both. Check the work desk to find a note about the key to the drawer.

There is also a mysterious card on the table with a number to call.

Next, check the small shelf near the exit of the storage room. You will find the keys to the drawer here.

Open the drawer and pick up the cap. You will see a photograph and camera but no ink for the stamp pad. You should hear the Chief out in the store. Go see to him. He wants to chat, tell him you will come see as soon as you are done. Go around the place and restock every shelf. Go back to the store room and get the Capsules for the gacha machine. The box is under the work desk. Go outside and the machine will be filled automatically. You should have 2 25 coins. So roll the dice. Once you are done restocking, speak to the Chief. When the chief calls for help, he will want the Ramen you suggested last time. For me it was the Ramen Express Luxe, so I got one for him.

Finish this bit of the conversation with the chief. Next, check the chief out. The chief will then want to eat the noodles in the store. As the chief eats, check the store’s back door and the bowl. Go back to the phone and call back Kiyoshi’s and add Coffee and Rice to the order.

Speak to the chief out on the floor. Have a meal with him. Exhaust all the dialogue options with him. He will want to chat some more when you come back after a while. Check Makoto’s jacket for some coin for the gacha machine. Remind the chief about getting a treat for Mimi now. Clean up the chief’s ramen and fix the chair. When the chief calls for help now, go to him. The Chief wants milk, there is just one carton in the store.

Bring it back to the Chief. You can either give it to him or tell him milk is bad for cats. If you do, he will not take the milk. He will need help again. He wants a small can for his cat. There are small cans – Cat Food Tuna in the Canned Goods Shelf.

Once this is done, check the Chief out. He will then leave. Go to the storage room and call 444-112, the number from the card. It’s a hotline that will tell you spooky story. You can call back tomorrow to hear one more story. Go to the rest room and pass the time. A new customer should soon walk in. If you have the retro cap on she will comment. Speak to her in a bit and she will want Canned coffee, which you don’t have in stock and have ordered more of. You can suggest conbini coffee but she wont want it. You can then offer a different drink after asking her how many cups she has already had of the coffee.

If you ask enough questions you can get her to consider any other drink that will get her to focus. Offer her the Vigorman X Energy Drink.

The customer is a reporter for a local newspaper. She needs inspiration for an article. Speak to her again after a bit and she will want a pre made meal. She wants a filling meal that is unusual and cant be found in the city. Give her the Konbini Bento box from the Ready Meals Shelf. Finally then you can check her out. Once that’s done she will ask Makoto if she has any ideas about the article. Eventually she will ask you for the names of people who come to the store. Tell her about the Chief, The mysterious man and Satoshi. After the conversation, Makoto will need to call the reporter another taxi. So head to the back room. Call Benten taxi service from the speed dial. Go back out and tell her the taxi is on it’s way. Have a bit of a chat and she will head into the restroom. When the taxi comes in knock on the door. She will then ask Makoto to set up a meeting with Satoshi. And we finally have her name, Naomi. Next the delivery will come in and you will new products. But also you need refill the ink on the stamp. But the ink is not in the bottom drawer. Refill the shelves with the products that have just been delivererd. Put 6 packets of rice into Mr. Takahashi’s delivery box.

You will hear Satoshi out on the store floor. Go speak to him. He wants Yoko Rich Cream. If you don’t have it in the store tell him so. Finally tell him about Naomi, wanting to speak to him. He will give you the number of his manager during the conversation.

Satoshi will call for help again and he needs help with the Soybean Natto. Take it off the top shelf and give it to him. Go back to restocking the shelves with the new delivery and then Satoshi will need help again. He needs an inexpensive sweet treat. Offer him the Piu Piu Biscuits.

Finally check everything out for Satoshi. Check him out and give him change in 25 coins. Next help him make a poster for his business. Almost every option works while designing the poster, but try to incorporate more Konbini stuff into it.

Finally suggest a discount for a recommendation and make the first delivery free. Ask him to change the name of the delivery service. Finally he will leave, go outside and watch him play the gacha machine. Remind him about his delivery time and he will leave. Answer the call on the phone. Aunt Hina will call and tell you about Mr Hatsuno, a local poet. She will also tell you that she is closing down the store. Watch the cutscene to end the shift.
