Muhit Rahman lives off two things: gaming marathons and endless cups of tea. He writes guides, reviews, and occasionally forgets that real life doesn’t come with checkpoints. His favorite genres are Soulslike and Metroidvania, with Dark Souls III, Hollow Knight, and Dota 2 forever holding top spots on his all-time list.
Finding new pieces to add to your miniature wooden army is one of the main parts of Inkshade. This hex-grid tactical turn-based strategy game, developed by Studio Vezelle, has plenty of puzzles to test your wits, and the candlestick puzzle is the first one you’ll encounter.
Of course, like most puzzles in the game, this is optional. But since solving it rewards you with a new unit to add to your collection, you’ll not want to miss out on it. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the solution to this elusive little puzzle that you encounter early on.

Candlestick Puzzle Solution in Inkshade

You can access this puzzle as soon as you get the first key from the Game Master after the tutorial segment.
With the key in hand, you can unlock the door to the dining hall in the mansion. At the far end of the hall, you’ll see a small chest on a table with five candlesticks behind it.

The first step to solving this puzzle is getting your hands on the lighter. You’ll find it on top of a cabinet on the right side of the dining table. There are two candles and a lamp on the cabinet.
Now head back to the small chest. You can use the lighter to light up the candles behind the chest.

On the floor carpet near the chest, you’ll notice an “X” marked spot.

Stand on the “X” and look towards the dining hall table. You’ll notice the candles on the dining table start to line up in a way that you can only see six of them. Some of them are lit while the rest are off. This is the solution to the puzzle.

Now head back to the chest and light up the candles number 1, 3, 5, and 6, counting from left to right. You’ll hear a small click, and the chest will be unlocked.
Loot the chest for a handful of Scrips and two new troop pieces to add to your army.
The candlestick puzzle is just a taste of what Inkshade has in store for players. While some can get tricky, the rewards hidden behind them are always worth the effort. Check out our guide hub to help you get off to a strong start.
