Remember the fuel truck Leon sent you to find earlier in the game at the church in John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando? Now it is time to remove the sludge that is holding it.
But before you can do that, you need to track down its source node. Leon seems to have a clue about how to accomplish this, and it involves locating a specific radar hidden within the sludge. Thankfully, you still have the anti-sludge machine, so things should be easy, right?
Finding The Source Node

The entire map in this mission is covered in heavy anti-sludge, which means you must stay within the vehicle barrier to avoid being affected.
Before you drive, make sure to refuel the vehicle and then start moving. The vehicle has only one seat, so your remaining companions must travel on foot while staying within the radius of the shield.
Find The Radar System

Your first objective is to head to a nearby terminal to obtain the location of the radar system that will help you locate the node.
One should spawn nearby, so drive to its location and climb the structure to reach the terminal. The console will need to restart, and you will have forty seconds to hold your ground.

Once this is complete, you will receive the location of the radar system, and it will be marked on your map. Make your way there.
Now that you have reached the radar location, you will find a device that you need to activate. Leon will establish the relay and attempt to create the remote connection.

Your mission here is to help accomplish this by positioning yourself to create a mesh network and stabilize the connection.
In simple terms, each of you will need to stand still in a specific zone and avoid leaving it.

You will have one minute and thirty seconds to hold your position while hordes of zombies approach.
Leon will then establish the connection and find the source node location.
Destroying The Node

The node is located near a motel that Hopewell repurposed into a deployment point.
You will receive the marker on your map, so drive there using the Anti-Sludge vehicle.

Once you reach the location, you need to park the vehicle on the extractor and proceed on foot.
Do not forget to pick up the device from the vehicle, as you will need it to navigate the area.

Make your way to the car wash and unlock the door. Inside, you need to find explosives to pick up. There will be several zombies that you must deal with first before reaching the explosives you need.
Pick up the explosives and place them at the motel door to gain access inside. Interact with the switch to blow open the entrance, then proceed inside.

Go deeper into the building until you reach a barricaded door blocking the path. Remove the door brace by interacting with it, then place the device into the field expander so you no longer need to carry it.
Survive

Now this is the source node that you need to destroy, and it will not be easy. Just like the final phase of every mission, you need to set up defenses, open weapon crates, stock up on ammo, explosives, and healing, and set up traps.
Once you are ready, activate the field expander and the battle will start. The first objective is to shoot the sub-nodes, which will be marked by red glowing objects.

There should be two on the sides of the source and one underneath you indoors, but since the game has a dynamic environment, you might encounter them in other locations during your run.
After you shoot all the sub-nodes, the shell will guard the source node, and you will be attacked by many zombies. Before you can engage the node again, you need to eliminate every single one of them.

Once that is done, a few Blasters will spawn around the area, and you need to take them out. Be careful, as they can deal significant damage using their beam attack.

The next step is to activate the amplifier to remove the shell guard and expose the node, but that will not work and will only reveal more sub-nodes for you to shoot.

Destroy every one of them, and this will finally force the shell to expose the source node.
Once it is revealed, this is the best time to use your heavy weapon to deal massive damage to its core.

After you destroy the source node, all the tendrils will disappear, and the truck will be free to collect the fuel.
