Table of contents
Withered Trail

This chapter starts as soon as you exit the town of robots. Keep hiking up the trail, walking forward.

You’ll have to shimmy along a ledge near the peak.

Continue walking as you reach the other side until you spot a tree with a bird’s nest. Send Twig to the bird’s nest, and he’ll return with an egg.

After the cutscene, take a few steps forward and use Focus Light on the seed that you can spot through the trees.

This creates a bridge. Go across the bridge and head inside the cave up ahead. This leads to the next chapter of the game.
Time Passage

Head through the cave until you find the path up ahead blocked by some purple stones. Focus Light on them to get through.

Further in, you’ll reach a dead end. There’s a green Crescent Moon switch on the right.

Focus the beam on it to shift the timeline. This creates a passage in front of you that you can head through.

Keep going forward, dashing through the vines and obstacles up ahead. You’ll spot a Rising Sun switch on the left. Use it to open the path up ahead and continue moving.

Soon you’ll find yourself on a broken bridge. Use the Moon Switch in the background to shift the timeline.

Continue forward along the repaired bridge. Up ahead, you’ll see part of the bridge drawn down. There’s a crank on the other side. Send Twig to sit on it.

Slide the crank along the path in the image above to retrieve it with Twig.

Backtrack along the bridge and send Twig into the panel that comes up. Wind the crank to lift the drawbridge.

Then continue moving forward across the bridge. Use the Rising Sun switch on the other side to remove the rubble and head through.

You’ll spot another purple stone blockade a few steps forward. Use Focus Light to get rid of it.

Use the Full Moon Switch on the right side of the door. Then send Twig to the crank on the left and rotate it to open the door.

Go through the door and you’ll reach a large chamber.
The Hall of Elders

Step on the large cog on the ground up ahead and press A to dock. Now you can rotate left and right to control the three monoliths in the middle platform.
Your goal is to face each monolith towards the door so that the light from them shines on the respective symbols at the back.

- First, shine light on the Rising Sun switch to control and rotate the cog to control the Red Monolith. Set it up in the correct position.
- Then use the Full Moon Switch to control both the Blue and Green monolith. Set it up so that the Blue Monolith is in its correct spot.
- Finally, use the Green Crescent Moon Switch to control the Green Monolith. Set it up in the correct position to open the large door.

Go through the door to reach the Pollen Fields.
Pollen Fields

Keep walking through the canyon and dash through any obstacles that come up.

When dashing through a vine, some fluffy balls of cotton will get stuck on the lighthouse. This unlocks the ability to jump by pressing A and glide when you hold down the button.

Press onward till you reach an area with puddles of water. Jump on the two rocks on the left.

Shine your light on the cotton balls below the platform that’s out of reach. Jump onto the platform once it comes down.

Continue heading forward, jumping across the platforms. You’ll have to use Focus Light on another platform just ahead.

Once you reach the elevated platform in the north, stand on the fumes coming from the ground to get launched upward and reach the next section.
Pollen Falls

As you take a few steps forward, you’ll watch a short cutscene. This marks the beginning of the next chapter. Once the cutscene ends, head left and jump on the rock formation. We’ve marked the path you need to take in the image above.

Make your way across the floating platforms. You’ll have to pop cotton balls by focusing your light, but otherwise, this part is pretty straightforward.

Once you reach the top platform on the left, you’ll be able to send Twig to a crank. Rotate the crank to open one of the pillars and create a platform nearby.

Get on the new platform and climb up to the floor above. Walk forward to find a pressure device in the wall that’s blocked by cotton balls. Use Focus Light to break the cotton balls.

Send Twig to sit on the device. This creates two more platforms.

Jump across the new platforms to reach another area.

Head right to find a cog on the floor that you can dock on.

Turn the cog after docking to create a passage through the waterfall on the right.

Jump through the hole and continue moving forward. Use the jumping pad (pink fume) to reach the next chapter.
The Great Pollen Tree

When you arrive at the large open area, you’ll see a giant waterfall up ahead. To stop the waterfall and unlock the passage, you need to solve two crank puzzles. They are on the platforms marked on the image above.

Head for the left platform first. Use the pink fumes to float through the air.

Send Twig to sit on the crank and pull it down to the bottom. The stone disc in the middle will keep rotating. Use the grooves in the stone disc to pass the crank.

Drop down to the bottom and jump on the two small rocks on the right. Focus the light on the cotton balls under the larger platform to bring it down.

Now you can use the pink fumes to reach the second crank puzzle on the right side of the waterfall.

Focus the light on the crank to get rid of the cotton balls and send Twig to bring the crank down to the bottom area.

Go through the passage in the waterfall to reach another open area.

Use the pink fumes to head for the platform on the right side of the waterfall.

Break the yellow rock around the crank using Focus Light.

Then send Twig and rotate the crank to open a passage through the waterfall.

Go through the passage and continue going forward. Use the fume inside to go up.

This takes you to another platform with the second crank puzzle for the area. Break the cotton balls off the panel, and then send Twig to bring the crank all the way down to the bottom.

Once that’s done, break the cotton balls on the platform on the right and jump across through the opening on the left.

Focus the light on the strange yellow and blue formation on the ground. This will create a pink fume on the ground.

Jump on it to transition into the next chapter.
Rainfall

You’ll arrive at the peak of the mountain in the middle of a storm. This part is pretty straightforward. Just keep moving up. You’ll have to occasionally use Focus Light on Seeds to create a path forward.

There will be strong gusts of wind from time to time that can stop you from going forward. When that happens, use Dash to resist the wind.

Eventually, you’ll reach a point where the path splits off in two directions. Climb over the ledges on the right first.

There’s a seed on the other side. Use Focus Light on it.

Return to the fork on the road and continue along the left path.

Keep moving up the mountain, dashing through the storm. It’ll eventually trigger the cutscene, which gets you to the next chapter.
Out of the Muck

When the cutscene ends, press A to break free of the moss. You have to press the button a couple of times to free yourself.

You’ll notice that you’re now a boat.

Keep pressing A to splash around till you reach the water.
Clapperclaw Cove

Move along the river and head through the ramp to jump to the other side.

Keep moving up along the river, dashing through ramps until you see a narrow passage through the mountain on the left. Go through it to start the next chapter.
Slime Grotto

Go through the passage and take the right path to see a blockade up ahead. Shine your light on the bulbous growth on the right to open the blockade.

Keep going forward, and you’ll reach another blockade. This time, there are two growths on either side of the gate. Shine your light to break them and open the way forward.

Swim through the blockade after destroying the growths, and you’ll soon reach the area marked in the image above. Shine your light on the flower as seen in the image to reflect the light on the growth and break the blockade on the right.

There’s another blockade up ahead that requires you to destroy three growths. All of them are nearby. Once you break them, the blockade opens and you can swim through it.

Keep going forward, and you’ll reach one final blockade. This one has three growths, but you can only see one on the door. Destroy it and then swim to the right side of the chamber to find another growth.

Destroying this growth opens the ceiling. The light from above lands on two flowers, which send out beams on the two remaining growths. Go through the path that opens up.
Molter Run

Keep moving forward to eventually reunite wth Twig and a sweet little surprise.

Watch the cutscene.

Once it ends, keep swimming forward to reach the sea and trigger another cutscene.
The Coral Sanctum

After the cutscene ends, keep swimming forward along the river. You’ll spot a small island up ahead.

Go near it and press A to dock and pick up a passenger.

Continue moving forward and watch the short cutscene.

Head toward the gate and send Twig by pressing X. This time, he’s not strong enough to lift it alone.

Once his son joins, use the left and right sticks to pull the gate off, opening the path through.

You’ve officially entered the Coral Sanctum. Dock on the first island up ahead, to drop off the passenger you picked up. You need to find three more. Thankfully, they are all nearby.

We’ve marked the location of each passenger in the image above.

Head to the island on the right first. It’s covered with rocks with growths on all sides.

Go around the island and break the growths using Focus Light. There are five in total. Once you’re done, you can dock on the island to pick up the passenger.

You can drop him off if you want, but let’s go to the second area in the middle to pick up our next passenger. When you reach the area, you’ll see the passenger we want is trapped on the roof of a shell.

Focus your light on the bushes on the left. This will lure the villagers away. The passenger will jump down, and you can pick them up.

For the final passenger, just head to the marked spot on the left. Dock on the island to pick them up. You don’t have to solve any puzzle for this one.

When you have all three passengers, return to the first island and drop them off.

After the cutscene, you’ll spot a shiny object on the right side of the island. Send Twig to retrieve it.

Tug it free.

Swim towards the lamp in the middle of the sanctuary and send Twig again to drop it off. You’ll have to press X to peck it into place.

You’ll see a short cutscene of a giant machine emerging from the water.

Swim towards it and go toward the blue vines on the right. The machine will fire a beam of light at the vines to break them.

Jump across the ramp that opens up to reach the next chapter.
The Lock Keeper

When the cutscene ends, continue heading forward towards the lamp peeking out of the water straight ahead. Send Twig to put the bulb back into its slot and watch the short cutscene.

The cutscene ends with a giant machine rising from the water on the left. You’ll also find two smaller lamps rise near the one that you just fixed, but they don’t have their bulbs. Once the cutscene ends, go toward the giant machine.

You’ll spot a small island on the right as you head towards the light beam from the machine. Head toward it.

Send Twig to operate the crank. This will move the pot at the top left or right. Move the pot all the way to the right under the falling water.

Next, rotate the crank counterclockwise to position it above the one-eyed creature on the island. Focus your light beam on the eye to drop the water, freeing up the one-eyed creature. He’ll join you from this point onwards.

Continue heading forward, past the small island, and guide the light beam from the giant machine towards the door on the left. The machine will focus the beam powering up the door.

Head through the door to reach a fork up ahead.

Take the left path first to find a growth on your right. Focus your beam on it to break it.

Then send twig to the red vine formation on the right to remove it and break another growth underneath.

Another one-eyed creature on a floater will join you at this point.

Return to the fork from earlier and head right. Use Focus Light to break the growth.

Go through the open path to find a light bulb on a platform. Send Twig to tug it free.

Once you have it, return to the first lamp that you activated. You can insert the bulb into another lamp nearby. Send Twig to insert it and watch the short cutscene that follows.

After the cutscene, head to the location marked in the image above.

You’ll spot another one-eyed floater here. Get close to it and press X a couple of times to do Bird Emote.

Once it starts to run off, start following it. It’ll lead you to an area blocked by tendrils. Another one-eyed floater will join you at this point. Since you’ve unlocked the second giant machine, it’ll fire light beams to break the blockades.

Continue moving through the blockades to reach a large bone. Let the cutscene play out.

Once it ends, head up the ramp to reach a small area. The bulb that you’re looking for is on your right.

Send Twig to tug it loose and ride up the nearby water current.

Return to the area with the lamps and insert the final bulb into the lamp on the left.

Go through the open gate to trigger another cutscene.

Once the cutscene ends, you’ll find yourself in a grim area. You’re still a boat. Keep heading forward, and eventually you’ll enter a cave that transitions you to the next chapter.
