Kingdom of Night is an indie RPG game with horror elements. The game is quite big, and its pixelated art, combined with the overall theme, creates a perfect blend of style and atmosphere. The creepy music and sound effects further add to more perfection of this game. If you are a fan of the 80s horror setting with perfectly placed RPG elements, then this game is a must for you. It also has a very positive rating on Steam. For more information, head over to its official Steam page.
The game gets quite confusing at some points, and you may not always know where to go. That is what happens in RPGs, but worry not. I already have a complete walkthrough of the prologue and Chapter One. In this walkthrough, I will guide you on how to complete Chapter Two and defeat the second main boss in Kingdom of Night.
Disclaimer
My walkthrough of Kingdom of Night – Chapter Two follows the order in which I visited locations. As the game is an open-world RPG, some areas may not connect directly to the main story. If an NPC doesn’t appear for you, it may be because you missed something or haven’t completed a related quest. In most cases, these NPCs are tied to optional content, so there’s no need to worry.

Alternate Route To The North Miami Sewers

I found a shortcut to the sewer quite near the F.o.S compound. From the entrance, head right and then go north. Go around the house to the right side and then head south. You will be in the Desert Loop area. Head south a little more and then take a right. You will notice green fog, and there will be an entrance to the North Miami Sewers.

Head inside and then take a right to progress. You can also go left, follow the path, and then head north to come across a merchant. He will sell you pretty solid items. Explore the area for some loot and then head back to Stinky’s Tavern. I explored the sewers for quite a while and could not find the route ahead.
So, head back to the tavern and upon exiting, a boy will steal the Frog Teraphim. If you have three Wits, you can choose the third dialogue option. He will then escape. Now, from Main Street, head right and enter the building to the left of Tom’s Hardware. Enter the sewer, go to the other side, and you will reach the other building.
Head To The Miami Industrial Zone

There will be Doctor Arnoldson, so talk to him and then exit through the south, and you will be in the Miami Industrial Zone now. Explore the area for some loot and then head to the Greenbelt Park. There in the middle, you will find James. This will start the quest Close Encounters of the Sticky Kind.

Talk to him, and something weird will happen. Defeat the enemies and then talk to James again. However, be careful as there are going to be a lot of enemies and they all will hit pretty hard. Pay attention to your health bar, or it will be depleted before you know it.
After defeating the enemies, talk to James, and he will now be at the tavern.
Head To Mesnard Refinery

Now there are two ways to enter the Mesnard Refinery. One through the main gate, but for that, you will need the refinery key. I spent a lot of time finding the key, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find it. So, I managed to find an alternative route, a simpler one.
From Edgar’s supermarket, head to the North Miami Sewers. From there, head right and enter the room at the northeast corner. Enter and then interact with the lever. Upon doing that, a wall to the left of the setting being shown on the screen will disappear.

Interact with the lever again, and now the gate will open. Interact with it again, and this time the wall to the right will disappear. That is what you want. Head to the right and follow the path above. Head straight ahead, take a right, and eventually you will reach The Hatchery. This is the place you want to be, as it lets you go to the Mesnard Refinery, too.
However, from here, you can also head to the Mesnard Refinery (through the white steel ladder), so if you want to go check it out, do so.
Explore The Hatchery

Now, from the ladder that takes you to the Mesnard Refinery (it will be on the east side, right next to the plank), head to the right. There will be many monsters ahead, so keep that in mind. Defeat the monsters and keep going to the right. At the far right, you will see two containers with green and purple fluids. Destroy them, and the game will show you that the door at the west to the north can now be opened.

So head to the room to your left and then head north. Keep going ahead and now destroy both containers at the north left side of the room. Loot the area and head out through the south. You do not have to fight the enemies, just run past them and make sure to avoid getting hit.
Open The Gate To The North

Head out of the room, and then follow the path to the left. Once you reach the next room, head north, enter through the door, then go left. After that, enter through the door at the north and interact with the computer. With this, you can print out the data as well as open the north gate.
After opening the gate, head out of the room, take a right, and then go north. Keep going ahead, and then enter through the door you just opened. Then head west and keep following the path. Eventually, you will notice a path to the right. Head there because you need a key to progress on the path to the left. So, head right and once you enter the room, follow the path to the east. Then, take a left, and a short cutscene will commence.

The way ahead is blocked, so head south and then take a right. Destroy the two containers and then talk to Donna. After talking to her, talk to The M.E.G, who seems to be Sarah.
Choose To Either Release The Subject Or Decontaminate The Tank
Then head over to the computer, and you can either decontaminate the tank or release the subject. If you choose to release the subject, the M.E.G will be free. I chose to release her as that seemed like a better option. After that, destroy the two other containers at the north and then head to the left.
Then, take a right and head straight ahead. After that, enter through the green fog, and you will be inside a room. From there, head to the top right and go through the space. Then, head to the tavern and talk to the new faces. After that, if you had started The Beauty Queen quest, you can conclude it now.
Conclude The Beauty Queen Quest
Please speak with Mr. Bogomil and inform him that you have found Sarah. You can either lie to him and say that she ran away, or you can tell him the truth about what happened to her. I chose to lie, and her father was finally at peace. After that, he will ask you about Donna, and the quest Beauty Queen will be concluded. This will reward you with a whopping 4,000 EXP.
Head To The Central Sewer

Important Note
Heading into the Central Sewers isn’t essential; it’s just something I did during my playthrough. If you’d rather skip the optional loot, jump ahead to the section titled “Get The Frog Teraphim Back.”
Now head back to the central sewer through the supermarket. Head straight and then take a right. You will then come across a lever. Interact with it to remove the eight-toothed gear and then defeat the monster. After you have defeated the monster, pick up the gear. You can get some loot from the north and south sections, but to proceed, head right.
Head south to find the four-toothed gear and continue down the path. Eventually, a short cutscene will commence featuring the opening of a door. Enter through the door to find some old faces. After talking to them, head out, take a right, and keep following the path while staying on the east side.
Pick Up The Two-toothed Gear

On the way, you will notice there are two more paths on the north and south sides. Head to the northern one and collect all the loot. Destroy the boxes (also make sure to activate the lever at the top right side) and then head to the left. Inside the room, there will be another lever. Then go back and keep following the path to the right.
Open The Door By Activating The Levers

Once you reach a room, head south, and the door will be locked. You now need to unlock it. One lever will be on the left side and one on the right side. Activate both of them, and the door will be opened. Do note that there is a lot of loot in this area, so make sure to collect everything before you head through the door you just opened.
How To Solve The Lever Puzzle

Make sure to explore this area and then head south. There is plenty of loot along the way, so make sure to collect everything. Keep following the path, and you will then come across a lever. Use the two-toothed gear, head to the south, then go left, and you will find another lever. Place the eight-toothed gear here and then go back to the first lever and replace the gear with the four-toothed one.
Head north and then take a left. After that, take a right, a left, another left, and then one more. With the last turn, you will finally be out of this maze. Follow the path ahead, and you will come across another lever. Use the two-toothed gear and then head through the door to your north. Then go left and continue straight ahead.
Explore The New Area, Crypt

You will come across Charon along the way. Enter through the door, and you will reach a new area, the Crypt. Head north and then take a left to get the Silver Skull from the statue on the west side. Then go back and head north. Interact with the skeleton in the middle and place the Silver Skull.
Talk to Antipater Mesnard and then head to the southwest side of the room. Follow the path and then head west. One of the stone walls on the left will have the Ancient Signet Ring, one of the best accessories in the game. It gives you +1 Muscle, +1 Guts, and +2 Wits. At the northwest corner, there will be a chest. Open it to get a lot of health and some loot. I could not find much else in this area, so it is time to look at a different one.
Get The Frog Teraphim Back

Important Note
There’s also another way to reach the Tree House: head to the Construction Site and go north from there. The path is straightforward, and you’ll arrive at the Tree House quickly.
In order to find the snot-nosed kid again, go back to Valley Heights and follow the path to the south. You will eventually reach Desert Loop. Keep heading south, and when you hit a dead end, go left. Shortly after, go south, and you will see an open gate. Head through there, and you will be inside a new area, the Maze.

From there, follow the path to the north and go up the stairs. You will be inside the Assassin’s Guild Hideout. The kid will run again, so head left and talk to the so-called Shadowlord. Talk to him to start the Harmful Dodger quest. After that, get out of the hideout and head left.

You will then reach the construction area. From there, head to Vista Del Plata, and you will notice an RV right next to a pole. East of that will be another RV. Head inside that and enter through the hole.
Explore Insect Burrow (Optional)
On the north side of the area, there will be a strange monster. It will not attack you, and there will not be an option to interact or start a conversation. For now, get the loot and head south. Keep following the path and do not interact with the cacoons, as monsters will hatch from them. Explore the area thoroughly for some pretty great loot. Head to the east side, then make your way around by going north and then left. Head to the south section and continue following the path for more loot. Enter through any exit you find, and eventually you will find a way to an RV.
You don’t really have to enter through the hole if you just want to progress the story. You just have to explore the Vista Del Plata area thoroughly. Head to the east side, and there you will find Wendel and his gang. However, they are not who you are looking for. You need to find a caretaker and one more person to continue progressing the story.
Find The Caretaker Foley

Important Note
To progress the story, you need to follow a specific sequence. First, speak with Brandon on the left side of the area. After that, go to the caretaker at the far north end and talk to him. Next, speak to the final NPC. Once that’s done, defeat the bugs and return to the caretaker. Ask him about the locked RV; he’ll tell you to get a soda while he looks for the key. This is meant to be a trap, but he fails, and you eventually obtain the key. Then, return to Brandon. Make sure to follow this order. If you speak to the caretaker before talking to Brandon, you won’t unlock the necessary dialogue options.
Brandon will also be outside one of the RVs on the east side. He wants to help you with the stolen teraphim. Make sure to enter every single RV, as there is plenty of loot. This way, you will also find the caretaker. His RV is on the southeast side, and there will not be any cocoon in front of it. The lights will be on, so that is your sign.
Talk to Caretaker Foley, and the stolen teraphim quest will be updated. Now you need to find another NPC. He can be found east of where Wendel and his gang are. His RV will have a porta-potty and many barrels around it, so it will be easy to spot. There will also be many cacoons on the way.

Talk to him and defeat the bugs in front of his RV. After that, talk to him again, and the stolen teraphim quest will be updated. He has gone to where the caretaker is, so head there. Speak with them, and the quest will be updated again. Now talk to Brandon, and the quest will be updated once more.

Head inside the RV, interact with the bed, and enter through the hole. Talk to Brandon again and then loot the area. You will find .38 SPL 130 grain FMJ. This is an important item, so make sure to pick it up. Then, approach Brandon and give him the item you just picked up.
Head Back To The Assassin’s Guild Hideout

Now head back to the assassins’ guild hideout and talk to the shadowlord. This will update the quest again. Now head out, and Matthew, along with Brandon, will be waiting for you. They will show you the way, so follow their lead. Once you reach the destination, head north to go inside Pazuzu’s Lair. From here, head north to find Jimmy. This will update your quest, Pazuzu.
It seems like the one who was attacking you from above in the Insect Burrow is Pazuzu. Head north, and your character will pass out. Then the POV will shift to Brandon, and after a while, you will be taken to the Yellow Nursery by some yellow bugs.
Explore The Junkyard

From here, head north, and some bugs will block your path. To pass through, head back down and take a right. You will notice green fog coming out of something. Head there to be covered in the green fog and then head north. After that, take a left, and the green bugs will let you pass. Follow the path ahead, and the way will be blocked again, but since you have the green fog around you, you can pass through the green bugs at the very right.

Pick up the fur boots from the north and get back. This time, head west and change the fog to yellow. Then go north past the yellow bugs. There you will find Xanthar and Ashley. To approach him, you need the green fog.
Head left and then north. On the right side will be the blue fog, and on the left will be the yellow one. Explore the area and get the loot with the yellow fog. When done, come back and change the fog to blue. Then head north and then left. After that, keep following the path, and you will come across Brandon.

Talk to him and then defeat the invisible level ten bug. After that, defeat the other bugs and head over to Annie. Now your fog will be green, so head back from the right side and approach Xanthar.
Talk To Xanthar

Xanthar is none other than Tucker, so talk to him and then head north. There you will find Jimmy talking to Pazuzu. The monster will then fly into the air and throw poison bombs from above. You have to run north, and note that many other bugs will be running along with you.

If they hit you, all of your health will be depleted. You just have to follow Jimmy’s trail and avoid getting hit by the poison bombs, and you will be fine. After a really intense chase, you will escape through the gate, and Pazuzu will be there.
How To Defeat Pazuzu

The boss fight of Chapter Two in Kingdom of Night will now be triggered, and you have to defeat Pazuzu. The fight will start with Pazuzu summoning some poison bombs from the sky. Head over to him and deal as much damage as possible. However, stay attentive, and if a poison bomb is about to hit you, dodge and keep on attacking.

Pazuzu will then change locations and summon some bugs to assist him. Ignore them and keep hitting him. Once he changes location again, defeat the bugs and start attacking Pazuzu again. Pazuzu will keep on summoning more bugs after changing locations.
Important Note
This boss summons a large number of bug monsters, and getting surrounded by them can quickly lead to a game over. Their attacks can put you to sleep, and if several hit you at once the damage can be fatal. Try to stay at full health as often as possible and use healing items whenever your health drops.
You can simply ignore them and keep on attacking him. They will take damage as you will be spamming the attack button. If you need some health, defeat one of the bugs, as they will drop some. The bugs are not that quick, so as Pazuzu changes his location, quickly follow along and keep on attacking.

However, make sure not to get hit by the bugs, as their attack can cause you to fall asleep. If that happens, you will be attacked by all of them at once, which can be deadly. After defeating Pazuzu, Jimmy will appear to look cool, and then you will get the rewards. Make sure to pick up the Locust Teraphim. After that, talk to the others, and a cutscene will commence.
Getting The Frog Teraphim Back

You will then play as Ophelia and learn more about the one behind everything that is going on. Explore the area, and then eventually you will be back as the main character. Now head south, and the hideout will be to the west. Head inside the hideout and talk to the Shadowlord. After that, talk to Timothy and select the option “Stolen Terpahim” to get your item back. With this, Chapter Two in Kingdom of Night will be over
