Chapter V: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished
Abadoo’s Quest Continued and the Old Restroom Key
We begin in a renovated Sunset Saw. Our goal now is to meet with Katrina at the Sunset Saw hill, where the sheriff’s office used to be.
Roll on to the hill and go all the way up to talk to Katrina.
After the conversation, if you head into the Old Ruins, you’ll find that the way ahead is blocked as we have one more animal to deal with – the goat.
Now roll all the way to the Sunset Saw train station and book a train to Plaza.

Once in Plaza, go to Plaza East and enter the black market inside The Long Boot Bar. Remember that the code is 113300.
(You can also go to the new Long Boot Bar in Sunset Saw – the code is the same).
Purchase, at the minimum, the Plaza Stamp. I recommend purchasing the Hot Night Mask too, as it increases Kulebra’s speed.
This done, roll to Plaza Central and talk to Abadoo. Purchase both the Old Restroom Key and the Black Pearl, paying with the stamps you found.

Now roll to Plaza North and go through either of the two tunnels that are beside the ruins of the Wing Hotel.
You’ll arrive at the Observatory and also the site of the Ancient Challenge in Plaza.
The Observatory and the Constellations
We’ll check out the Observatory first, as it is necessary to complete the Test of the Goat later.
The Observatory is locked and the owner has gone to the restroom, so go to the west of the area to find the restroom.
Approach the restroom and use the Old Restroom Key you got from Abadoo.

After the conversation, rest until night if necessary, and go up to the Observatory.
On the Observatory ground floor, there’s a locked chest to the right – we’ll deal with it later.
For now, go to the top of the Observatory to meet Astro again. On the top floor, go west and read his open diary on the desk.

Read each of the entries here to record them in your own notebook, under the Astro tab.
Then, interact with the telescope.
The hints in the diary will tell you how to find each of the constellations, but here’s a reference if you’d rather have them directly.
- Frog: -129:048
- Hare: -029:058
- Goat: +096:012
- Bird: +033:035
- Snake: +131:049

Now when you go down to the ground floor again, input the Snake’s coordinates into the chest’s combination lock to open it.
We can now do the Test of the Goat, so go all the way down from the observatory and look east of the final ramp down to find the Old Ruins of the Goat.

Ancient Challenge in Plaza and the Test of the Goat
As usual, try taking the mask to initiate the Ancient Challenge.
Go up the observatory ramps to find the Ancient Challenge, which is a Sokoban-style block pushing puzzle this time.
You can only push the pedestals, not pull them, so be careful when pushing them into an edge or corner. If you mess up, you can go to the panel next to the rope-bridge leading to the observatory.

First set the bird pedestal: push it right, down, left, left.
Then for the goat pedestal, push it down, right, right, right, down, left.
This completes the ancient challenge and unlocks the fast travel portal in Plaza, so head down and enter the Old Ruins.

Inside, you’ll find a panel and a teleporter that leads up to the observatory’s top floor.
You need to use the panel to input the constellation pattern of the Goat constellation. Check the screenshot below to find out how it looks. You can also consult the telescope to remind yourself. It’s also displayed as a poster on the observatory’s inner wall if you know where to look.

Head on over to the Goat mask now and take it.
Now rest until tomorrow and you’ll be back at Sunset Saw.
Getting the Lamp Shade from Abadoo
Before we continue the story, we should meet with Abadoo again for an important but optional item.
Abadoo has relocated just above the observatory ramps, so go there (you can fast travel from the top of the Sunset Saw Hill now).

Offer to help Abadoo and answer ‘Kulebra’. You’ll get a Lamp Shade that you can use to hide in stealth sections.
Entering the Inner Sanctuary
With the Lamp Shade acquired, return to Sunset Saw and this time, enter the Wing Motel (formerly Moon’s Motel).
Roll to the upper floor and all the way east to Lady Bugga’s room.
After the initial conversation, show her each of the three masks you’ve acquired to have her fix them.
Now return to the Old Ruins of the Hare, at the top of the Sunset Saw Hill.
Approach the wall with the three animal symbols to unlock the way forward.
At the very end of the path, interact with the Bird pedestal and try to take the mask. Then, push the pedestal off the cliff.
A series of cutscenes will follow. After these, rest until tomorrow.

Return to Lady Bugga in the Wing Motel and talk to her. After this, head back to the Old Ruins in Sunset Saw and go through the newly-opened doorway into the inner sanctuary.
Here, if you approach the plaque, you’ll learn that you need to ‘rethread the past’.

This simply means you have to go through the symbols in the order you first encountered them. That is to say – Frog, Hare, Goat, and Bird, in that order.
If you mess up here, you’ll find another plaque showing you the directions to get back to the start of the puzzle.

Remember that the start of the puzzle has the explanatory plaque!
After passing through the final symbol, you’ll find Phani. After the conversation with her, you’ll be chased by a dark soul.
In this segment, you must reverse the order you went through. You’ve already passed through Bird, so now go through Goat, Hare, and Frog, in that order.

If done right, you’ll end up at the start of the puzzle again, this time with Phani.
Return to Lady Bugga
Once you’re out of the Ruins, return to the Wing Motel in Sunset Saw. The door is locked, so enter through the basement door in the back.
Interact with the door to the boiler room, which is blocked by a wooden crate.

Then, go up to the motel lobby and make your way to Lady Bugga’s room.
After the series of cutscenes, return to the Inner Sanctuary through the Bird Ruins.
The City of Kandle
When you’re ready to trigger the final section of the game, let Katrina know that you are ready. You will be able to return to the world of Kulebra later, but only after completing Chapter V and beating the game.

As before, pass through the symbols in the way you first encountered them – Frog, Hare, Goat, and Bird.
When you get to where Phani was previously, approach the door to the north and interact with them.
Next, you’ll find a control panel on a platform – interact with the control panel. Continue forward, through the double doors ahead.
Continue north and enter the building at the very end of the path.
Resident Kulebra: Moon Statue
You’ll now find yourself trapped in a building that’s a total send-up to Resident Evil 1. Much like that game, this is a survival horror section where you must avoid and escape dark souls while solving environmental puzzles.
This section is made much easier by having the lamp shade from Abadoo, as you can use it to hide in plain sight of the dark souls (albeit you must not be touched by them while they patrol).
When you’re ready, go through the Moon door in the northwest.

You’ll find a statue – there are four such statues, and you need to activate them all to open the double doors in the central area of the mansion.
The Moon statue is blocked by orange vines, so we’ll need to find orange herbicide to clear the way.
Continue west to find a green herbicide, and an unmixing machine to the left of that. Use the Green herbicide with the unmixing machine to get herbicides Yellow and Blue.

Go south from there to your first proper survival horror area. Note that dark souls in this section can pursue you through areas, so simply running won’t do – you need to block their line of sight and hide until the coast is clear.
Proceed east to find some blue vines blocking the way to the north. Use your blue herbicide on them, then cut them, and proceed north, past the small stairs.
Grab the purple herbicide here, push the box-on-wheels to the right, and proceed through the Moon door.
Now use the purple herbicide on the unmixing machine to get red and blue herbicides.
Combine the red and yellow herbicides into the orange herbicide, and use it on the vines blocking the statue.
Cut the vines now to lower the gate and gain access to the statue. Interact with the statue and answer the Moon statue’s questions with: “Flora”, then “Estrella”, and finally, “Ceed”.
Resident Kulebra: Eye Statue
Now go back south through the door to the west to return to the maze-like area from before.
This time, go through the door to the south. Go up the stairs here and in the upper room, interact with the green box to find a Lion Key.
Use the Lion Key on the lock of the Eye door, then pass through it.
Be wary of the tripwire and bell to the immediate west. Instead, go east, north, west, and south to bypass it.
Proceed west and then south to enter a small room. Interact with the green box here to get a Goat Key.
Go back through the eye door and then proceed northeast until you encounter another bell-and-tripwire. Go past these from the south and then north to find a box in the darkness that contains a Snake Key.
Return to the previous room (where you found the Goat Key) and interact with the locked chest on the box. Use the Snake Key on it.
Carefully make your way back to the box where you found the Snake Key and go through the Eye door to its west (don’t trip the bell!). You will need to use the Goat Key to unlock this Eye door.
As you can see here, we have the old three-symbol lock from Sunset Saw guarding the Eye statue.
Interact with the three-symbol lock, combine the three broken keys you have, and use the resulting Chimera Key to unlock the lock.

Now interact with the Eye statue and answer its questions with “Coal”, “Ceniza”, and “Moto-Rawr”. This unlocks the Eye seal on the main door.
Resident Kulebra: Star Statue
From here, go west to find a dangling painting. Ram into it to find a hole behind it.
Go through the hole and interact with the box here to find an ancient hairpin.

Go south now to clear the blockage of the door, and push the box-on-wheels to the right to unblock access to the door. (You can also seemingly slip through the gap between the hedge and the box).
Go to the far east now to find a door locked with an ancient-looking padlock. Use the ancient hairpin on it to open the door.
Before we move on, let’s make use of the Crescent Moon Key we just found. Go down to the lower floor and then return to the Moon maze.
Interact with the big chest to the far northeast of the room to find an orange herbicide.

Combine this orange herbicide with the blue herbicide you already have, to create the black herbicide.
Exit the Moon maze through the south, back to where the stairs leading up are. However, here, use the black herbicide on the vines to the west. Cut them to access the door to the west.

Interact with the box here to find another Ancient Hairpin.
Return to the Moon maze and go west to find a locked door – use your Ancient Hairpin on it to unlock this door.
You’re now back in the main area of the mansion. Go to the upper floor now and return to the Eye maze. Head north to the Eye statue.
Go east down the stairs and continue east until your find a Star door. This will trigger an incoming dark soul, so quickly hide out of the red carpet path, then pass through the Star door when you have the chance.

Here, you’ll find the Star statue, which has a special condition that you don’t know yet.
Go south from here to enter the Star maze. Go to the far south of this area and pass through the door to the south.
Go east through the star door and interact with the box to find an Ancient Battery.
Now return to the Star maze and go east, so that you end up on the south side of a box with wheels.
Push the box as far north as possible and then climb the small stairs to the left. Ram into the dangling vent cover here, then enter the vent.
In this small room, interact with the box to the east to find an ancient hairpin. Then, go north and interact with the switches. Use your Ancient Battery to activate them.
Operate the circuits to have another round of the old lighting mini-game. This time, light up the two lights on the left, and the lower-right light.
This unlocks the Star statue, so now push the box-on-wheels to the north and go through the Star door.
Interact with the Star statue and answer its questions with “Lluvia”, “Lluvia’s Cup” and “Tormenta”. This will unlock the Star symbol on the main door.
Resident Kulebra: Sun Statue
We only have one symbol to go now: the Sun. Return to the Star maze and exit through the door to the west, which you can unlock with the ancient hairpin.
Go to the upper floor and interact with the half-open Sun door to the northeast.

Once on the other side, interact with the box to find another ancient hairpin.
The Sun statue also appears to have a special condition to be unlocked, so head back south, out of the room.
Return to the Star maze on the lower floor and go south to find a flight of stairs to the west. Go up these stairs and pass through the door to end up in the Sun maze.

Unlock the Sun door to your immediate north for convenience, and then approach the Diablo statue.
You can’t get the key here just yet, so go southeast. Here, you’ll find a more intricate hedge maze with three plaques scattered about.

Read the three plaques to find out the code for the combination-locked door at the end of the maze: 150224.
In the small room on the other side of the door, interact with the object on the pedestal. Then, interact with the box to the left.

Head back out to the Sun maze and return to the Diablo robot, which has the key you need.
Here, we need to awaken the robot by using the Diablo Whistle, and then run through the maze on the east, until you reach the red X on the floor.
First, examine the Toro whistle to take off the Toro Whistle Cover. Then, combine the whistle with the Diablo Whistle Cover.

Now stand to the southeast of the Diablo robot, just between the boxes and the hedge. Once Diablo starts chasing you, make your way through the maze. Don’t go too fast, or Diablo will give up and return to its original position. Also avoid using the first stairs that lead into the maze – Diablo will give up rather than take the long way around.
Once you’re east of the big red cross, Diablo will be defeated. Grab the key and re-enter the small room with the combination lock.
Use the key you just acquired on the object on the pedestal and then ram into the object when asked to.
This unlocks the Sun statue, so now head out of the small room and make your way west through the Sun door to the main area of the mansion.
Go north through the next Sun door and interact with the Sun statue here. Answer its questions with “Akka-Bukka”, then your chosen sidekick name, and finally, “Wow”.
Now exit the Sun statue room and in the main area of the mansion, pass through the newly-opened double doors.

Continue north through the next set of double-doors and onwards to the final area of the game.
Approach the round platform to the north now and interact with it.
After the cutscenes that follow, use your Enlightenment beam.
Next up, you’ll be facing Risa.
Chapter 5 Finale

This encounter is not a traditional boss fight – rather, you have to interact with the four statues again, while Risa chases you.
Return to the Moon maze and make your way north to the Moon statue. Interact with the statue and use your Enlightenment beam to light it up.
Next, go southwest back to the Moon maze and make your way through the south door. Go up the stairs to the east, so that you enter the Eye door and then the Eye maze.
Make your way north, avoiding Risa, and pass through the gap to the northwest to enter the room with the hole to the right.
Pass through the hole and approach the Eye statue. Interact with it and activate it as before.
Now make your way east and through the Star door, while taking care to avoid the fires. Head south from here, as your way to the statue will be blocked.
In the Star maze, navigate south, then east, and north through the open vent.

Then, go through the Star door to the west to return to the Star statue. Interact with the statue as usual.
Now go south to the Star maze again. This time, go through the south door. Go up the stairs to the west and through the door to the east.
Make your way to the Sun door now and interact with it.
Next, quickly go to the southeast of the area, and when the coast is clear, go west and return to the Sun door.
Back in the main area of the mansion, go north through the Sun door that leads to the Sun statue.
Here, interact with the statue and activate it. Then, dodge Risa and the dark soul to get out of the Sun statue room.

Go west, then north through the double doors, and continue north into the inner area of the mansion.
Use the Enlightenment Beam again.
Later, you will use the Enlightenment Beam for the final time in the game. Here, you must press the ‘Let Go’ button when it appears, or you’ll end up needing to retry the section.

This concludes Chapter V of Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, and it also concludes the game.
If you load your Completed save, however, you can enter the Epilogue, where you can resolve any remaining side-quests you want.
