Chapter 7: FEAR: A study

At the start of this level, we find our heroes separated by a wall. Like the previous chapter, they are separated, but unlike that level, they will have to collaborate this time.

If you move Dan towards the dark corridor, you’ll find that he refuses to go there without a light source. As there’s nothing else to do with Dan, we’ll switch to Ben.

As Ben, head to the lift next to the window and use the ‘lever’ (which is really more of a lift button). On the upper floor, walk to the left until you find the Dead Science Lady frozen in ice. Use the spike on her arm, and then pull on the hand to get the severed arm.

Go down the lift again and use the severed arm with the hot starlight. This will thaw the arm and give you a bunch of items to work with.

Go back up the lift and to the immediate right, you’ll find a hand scanner. Use the severed hand with the hand scanner to open the metal door. Use the joystick on the computer to be able to control a drone.

Move the drone to the left, allowing it to descend to Ben’s level. Then, press the interact button to regain control of Ben, and have Ben use the holo-spanner on the security drone. Use the ‘Harrowing Console’ again and move it through the shaft going to the right of the corridor that Ben is in. This shaft goes downwards to the lower level.

Once the drone is on the lower level, move right to get it covered in radioactive goo. This lights up the drone, so bring it back up through the shaft and into Ben’s level. Go through the shaft leading up, into a chamber that has a code-locked door.

To unlock this door, you need to match the droid’s colours with the sequence of coloured bars. The droid changes colours based on whether it’s moving left, right, or up – so simply keep in mind those colours and repeat the movements.

Otherwise, just follow this pattern: go up, left, left, right, left, up.

Proceed through the shaft to get the drone to Dan’s area.

As Dan, stand on the button on the lower floor to open the hatch and let the drone into his space. Interact with the drone to piggyback it. Head into the dark corridor to the left and proceed until you find a spider-monster. If it spots you, it will attack you, so to avoid it, hide in one of the lockers and wait for it to pass by.

Proceed to the left, then up and right after the checkpoint. Beware another spider monster here, and go up again. Then go left, jumping across the platforms and clearing another checkpoint. In the corridor to the left, there’s another spider monster.

After clearing this corridor, go left until Dan notes that he made it through. Follow the trail of diamond-points upwards and then right when you reach the top. Further to the right, you’ll find a large room with a three-tier block of ice.

Jump across the ice platforms to reach the Harrowing Door to the right. Don’t bother with the door just now – go right and upwards until you find a big rocket with a fuel leak.

Stand under the fuel leak to get drenched in it and then step on the button to the left. This will cause the thruster to spark, and it will leave Dan no way to get out other than on fire.

Go right through the sparks and very quickly sprint to the right, down the shaft, left, and down to the lowermost floor of the large room. Now, while still on fire, run through the ice blocks on the lowermost floor so that there are no more white ice blocks.

If you did it right, you’ll hear them melt as you speed through them, towards the pile of corpses. If Dan dies before you can clear all the ice blocks on the lowermost level, then do the above procedure again.

Once the ice blocks are cleared and Dan has respawned, return to where the ice blocks were. To the right, there’s a futuristic tractor to use. Hop in and keep driving to the left until you hit the end (and gain a sizeable number of corpses). Take the corpses all the way right into the compactor to create a lovely cube of corpses.

Get out of the tractor, jump up a couple of tiers of ice, and then hop on right to the Harrowing Door again. This time, actually use the door to go downstairs. Here, you’ll find the cube of corpses, but you’ll have to take it all the way to the airlock (near where Dan started). This means – yes, you have to avoid the monsters on the way.

Push the cube down the hole to the left and follow it down. Push it down one more level and then to the left, until it falls to the lowermost level. Push the cube to the right now, but if you spot the monster, hide in the locker. Keep pushing the cube until it’s back into the area where Dan started out.

Pull the cube towards the airlock (with the red door) and note that the lower button has become permanently depressed so that you no longer need to go through the monsters. With the cube in front of the airlock, jump on the button that is directly above the airlock.
