Little Nightmares 3 features four chapters, with all of them having fair length. Chapter three, in particular, is the longest and most challenging one. You won’t be teleporting to the other area through the mirror at the end of that chapter. Instead, you will travel through the hot air balloon to the other area you need to be.
The next chapter is going to be the last one in the game, and as expected, it isn’t a piece of cake. There are many puzzles and chase sequences that you may need help with. So, here, I will provide you with a thorough walkthrough on how to complete Chapter Four, The Institute, in Little Nightmares 3 with ease.

Explore The New Area

After your balloon crashes and the cutscene ends, you will find yourself in a new area. Simply go right to enter a building through a large hole. Keep moving right, and note that you are still carrying your torch from the previous chapter, so make sure to use it when needed.
Continue heading right until you reach a door. Open it with the help of your partner, move south, and then remove the plank on your right. Keep going, and be prepared for a small jumpscare ahead.

Shoot the flower with your bow and keep moving right. A breakable wall will appear next, so let Alone handle it. As she hits the wall, the building will start to shake. You can ignore the shaking and continue to the right. Climb the open drawer, then make your way to the top.
After that, go through the window and shoot a flower located to the north (you can do that when Alone goes first, as the flower will shift its focus on her). On the right side, you will see an inclined wooden platform. Climb up and grab onto the steel pipe sticking out of the wall, then move left.

If you are unsure how to proceed, wait for your partner (in offline mode) to perform the action first, then copy them. You would have to wait for Alone to do it first if you are playing as Low, either way. Drop down to the other side and go up the stairs to your left. At the top, you will see a vent cover to your left. Open it with your partner.
Time To Be Stealthy

Once you enter the room through the vent, you will see a monster inside searching for something. While this is a stealth section, you cannot simply crouch and make your way to the next room. That is because you need to open the mail slot on the door, and the monster is standing right beside it. If you try to open it directly, the monster will catch you before you have a chance.
Here is what you need to do: as soon as you enter the room through the vent, move slightly to the left and shoot the bottle on the counter to your south. The monster will walk toward the broken bottle, giving you a chance to move to the other side of the room. Make sure to stay crouched while doing this, or the monster will hear and spot you.
Once you reach the other side, open the mail slot with your partner’s help and go through it. As soon as you enter, the monster will notice you and rush toward the door. Fortunately, it cannot enter the room because the door is locked.
Smash The Gong To Move The Giant Leg

This next section can be a bit confusing, especially if you are playing in offline mode. You may notice a gong on the northeast side of the room, right next to a giant leg blocking the path. Sometimes, Alone does not go up to the gong and smash it automatically.
If that happens, you may need to call her by pressing Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox). I am not sure if this is intended or a bug, but in my playthrough, Alone did not smash the gong on her own.

After Alone hits the gong, a massive wave will pass through the room, and the giant leg will move out of the way. When it does, head north, but do not go through the small passage on your right. Instead, continue going north, climb the small wooden table, and pull down the lever.
After that, the lift will arrive shortly. Once it does, enter and activate it with your partner by pulling the lever inside. When the lift stops, exit it, and you will notice a room to your left. Enter the room to your left. Go left, jump through the hole in the door, and keep heading in the same direction.
You will then enter a room where it may seem like it is a dead end, but it is not. There is a passage on the west side, so go from there, and you can’t pull the lever at the north because it is broken. However, you will be able to pull it, so go back and this time head south. There, you will find a socket without a fuse. I will come back to that later, as first we need to pull down the lever.
How To Pull Down The Lever

You will notice a steel cart right west of the socket. Pull it toward the south to the massive open window. After that, climb it and then jump through the window to reach the other side. Then, keep going left, and eventually you will reach a room with a seesaw.
Keep going left and enter the next room. After that, jump and climb the objects to the north, then go through the small passage at the top. You will enter a room that looks almost identical to the one that appeared in Low’s recent memory or dream.

With the help of your partner, jump and open the trash chute, and a small cutscene will commence. The cutscene will feature Low trying to grab the doll, but as he is about to, a bright light will shine on him.
Pick the doll as it features a bright light that will help you. Head right, go up the seesaw, throw the doll to the other side, exit the room, and grab the doll again. Then, go back to where the lever is (the place will change a little bit). Drop the doll right beside the lever and, with the help of your partner, jump and pull it down.
How To Find The Fuse

After that, pick up the doll and make your way to the left by moving in a zigzag pattern. At the end of the passage, you will find another lever. Drop the doll and jump to pull it down. When you do, a fuse will appear, which you need to insert into the socket you saw earlier in the hallway.
Pick the doll back up and let Alone carry the fuse. Head back into the hallway and insert the fuse into the socket. However, keep in mind that on the way back, you will need to pull the lever again to unlock the door on your right and re-enter the hallway.

Now, the layout of the area will have changed, and the socket will no longer be visible in its previous location. Keep heading south and enter the room on your left. Inside, you will find another doll. Pick it up and exit the room.

This is not the same area, so it will get a little confusing. Head to the most north side and drop the fuse there. The middle of the gate would look like an eye, so drop the doll just in front of it. After leaving the doll behind, go south and then east. You will notice a space to go through in the middle. Go from there, take the fuse with you, and then head right. After that, head south, and you will find the socket.
Open The Steel Gate

Once you have inserted the fuse into the socket, pull the steel cart from the left side and place it in front of the socket. After doing that, climb the steel cart, jump, and grab the lever to your right to pull it down. Upon doing so, the steel gate to your right will be unlocked.
After that, enter and keep going left. Go out from the narrow space and, along with your partner, remove the plank just ahead. Upon exiting the room, an alarm will also ring, and you will notice a giant hand coming from the north. So, hurry up and remove the plank.
After removing the plank, instantly run inside and hide under the table in the middle of the room. The hand is pretty fast, so if it crushes the table, then you need to be faster. Remove the plank as soon as possible and then simply hide beneath the table.
How To Escape From The Giant Hand

After that, the giant hand will try to find you and will eventually stop moving. When that happens, get out from under the table while staying in the crouching position. On the right side, there will be a lever that you need to pull down to unlock the door. However, do not call for your partner, as this will alert the giant hand.
Instead, wait for them to come to you. Once they arrive, jump and pull the lever down. As soon as you do, the door will open and the giant hand will start moving again. Quickly exit the room and sprint north.

Follow the path and enter the small hole to your left. Once inside, Alone will already be smashing the glass on the floor. After she breaks it, both of you will fall down. The giant hand will drop down shortly, but after not finding you, it will retreat.
Now, continue heading left and jump onto the files to climb the small wooden cabinet. Exit through the window and head up the stairs. At the top, you will see a locked door to your left. So, go right and open the door with your partner’s help.
How To Find The Key To Unlock The Door

Once you enter the room, keep going right, and you will spot a monster. There is no need to be stealthy here; just shoot the bottle ahead, and the monster will run toward it. There is a plant west of the monster, so when it comes toward the broken bottle, the plant will grab the monster by its throat and finish it. After that, grab the key lying next to it.

After that, head back, unlock the door, and pull down the lever. This will open the door to the north. Before moving on, make sure to pick up the doll. With the doll in hand, head north and enter the second room on your right.

Place the doll slightly to the left of the center, so its light does not reach the far right side. This is important because if the light touches the right side, it will block the path that should remain open. However, if you place the doll too far to the left, the ground on the right side will disappear.
Once the doll is positioned correctly, the door on the right will remain open. Go through it and exit the room.
Another Stealth Section

After exiting the room, you will notice some monsters, so it is time to be stealthy. Crouch and move to the right. The room is full of monsters, so avoid walking normally or sprinting. Stay crouched and keep heading east.
Continue crouching, as there is another monster in the next room. Once you enter, move toward the north side and drop down through the small gap. After landing, go right, head north, and open the mail slot on the door.

Then, continue moving to the right, and eventually you will notice the giant hand in the background. Wait for the monster to do its thing, and then a small platform will be placed ahead for you to jump on. Jump on that and keep moving to the right. Ahead, you will notice a bench; climb and then go through the open window. Make sure to take Alone with you, as she may not follow you if you are too ahead.
Escape The Giant Monster

After getting inside, go into the room on your right and open the vent cover together. Once it is open, immediately sprint south, as the giant hand has returned. On your right, you will see a wooden ramp; use it to jump into the next room, where a cutscene will begin. The giant will reveal its face from the north side, and another one of its hands will appear from the east.

The monster will try to crush both Low and Alone, but during the cutscene, you will have to shoot the eye on its hand, forcing the creature to retreat. When the cutscene ends, go right through the small hole and jump onto the wooden platform ahead. You will need to grab the edge, so make sure to press R1 (PlayStation) or RB (Xbox).

Next, sprint and jump to grab the edge of the table on your right. Climb up, then jump to the platform on the left side. Again, you will need to grab the edge to pull yourself up. After that, grab the vine, climb up, and jump onto the platform to your right. Jump once more and enter the hole on the right.
Exit the room, head north, and pull down the lever. This will open the steel door to your right, but only Alone will be able to pass through. Head south and wait for her to break the wall for you. Once she does, go through the small passage, enter the room to your right, and step into the elevator.
Exploring The Lowest Floor

Once the elevator reaches the lowest floor, enter the room on your right and go through the small path to the southeast. Grab the key from the area to the north, then head east to pick up the doll. After that, return and go south from the elevator. After crossing the plank, you will see a locked door to your left.

You can unlock that door with the key you just grabbed, but there will be nothing inside except a lore-related thing. After that, head into the room on your right, climb up, and when you reach the top, go through the small hole. Keep moving right, drop down, and then head north. Continue going north and open the door with your partner. Once you do, a cutscene will trigger, and the giant monster will return.
Escaping The Giant Monster Once Again

Once the cutscene ends, immediately run to the east, jump, then slide, and head south. At the end of the path, go right. The floor will collapse, so be ready to jump to the other side. Then, sprint south, enter the room on your right, keep heading south, and enter the next room on your right.
After that, head north again, enter the room to your right, and help Alone open the door. Once the door is open, the boss will trap you, but there will be a gong in the middle of the room. Let Alone smash it, and the path to your right will open.

Go through the newly opened path, sprint north, and eventually you will see light coming through a small hole. Enter the hole, go right, and you will see a mirror to the east. Approach the mirror, and Alone will hesitate to go along. Due to that, the giant monster will appear and smash the mirror.
Getting Rid Of The Boss

The room will start collapsing, so make sure not to get hit by anything or get under the rubble. Eventually, the gong will also fall into the room. Approach it and remove the plank. After that, Alone will smash it, causing the monster to go berserk. After it goes berserk, the roof from the left side will collapse, so move to the east.

Then, the monster will strike down the wooden platform from the right, so this time, head west. After that, go to the right again. Shortly after, a wooden crate will fall. Climb it, then jump to the platform on the right. Let Alone smash the gong once again. The monster’s hand eye will be exposed, so shoot it with an arrow.
After that, the boss’s face will slam into the ground, and Alone will smash its glasses (as she smashes his glasses, you should shoot his eye using your bow), causing it to fall. Low and Alone will fall as well, and since they are both unconscious, a cutscene will begin. The cutscene will show Low and Alone drawing on some papers, and when it ends, another one will start.

Alone will help Low get up, and when the cutscene ends, start heading north. Since both of you are injured, you won’t be able to walk normally or sprint. Keep moving forward, and at the end of the path, you will find a mirror. Approach the mirror, and Alone will hesitate to go through at first, but eventually, she will step in.
Ending Chapter Four – The Institute

A cutscene will begin, showing only Low making his way through the mirror. Alone will be repelled by the mirror, and shortly after, she will vanish. With that, Chapter Four, The Institute of Little Nightmares 3, comes to an end.
