Inspecting The Village
As you enter this new village, you’ll find it destroyed by the Prickly Vines, and all of the villagers have long left it. There are only two villagers left here, Arden and Enite, alongside Enite’s grandson, Rubrum, who we rescued earlier.

The villagers will tell you that after Prickly Vines destroyed everything, the villagers left, and no one is likely to come back. However, our Ellie is not one to give up. If you talk to Enite, she will tell you that the village had been previously afflicted by Prickly Vines, but those vines were a little different.

Enite says that the vines used to appear often, but they were completely destroyed under a full moon. However, these current ones don’t get destroyed by the moonlight, and even if they try to destroy them, they grow back.

Ellie tries to convince Enite that she has what it takes to fix the town, but Enite asks her to talk tomorrow after she has taken some time to think about it. You’ll have to go back to the Witch’s Hut and sleep for the night.

On her way back, Ellie decides that the first person she wants to bring back to the village after she has fixed the Prickly Vines issue is the carpenter. The carpenter can then help them rebuild other houses to bring back more people to the village.

Diane And The Witch’s Catalogue
As you wake up the next morning, you’ll find Diane outside your house. If you talk to her, she’ll tell you that she’ll be available as a vendor, but you’ll need Luna Coins to trade with her, which can be obtained by selling her your stuff or by completing her quests later.

Diane is an important vendor, and you’ll have to purchase a lot of stuff from her in the future to progress the story. She’ll also give you a broom as a freebie, which has terrible durability, but you can fix it from the workbench in the workplace.

Convincing Enite
Return to the village and talk to Enite. She’ll still be slightly reluctant, but after seeing Ellie’s enthusiasm, she’ll finally give in and agree to bring the villagers back once the village is free from the Prickly Vines.

Enite also tells Ellie about the carpenter Kyla’s house. Enite says that if Ellie is able to get rid of the vines from Kyla’s house, she’ll contact her and ask her to return to the village.

Prickly Vines Of The Village’s Secret
You will then have to go to Kyla’s ruined house and inspect the vines. You’ll get a keyword for Prickly Vines of the Village. Talk to the villagers using this keyword for more information.

Enite will tell you that these vines regenerate rapidly, unlike the White Prickly Vines that they previously encountered often in the village. Rubrum will tell you that he once tried to make a tea out of the Prickly Vines fragments, and it turned out to be similar to Honey Pumpkin and White Prickly Vine tea.

Lastly, Arden will tell you that he thinks that these Vines might be a result of someone’s malice, a curse. After talking to Arden, Ellie will want to check out the books in the Shelf of the Witch’s hut since the previous owner seemed interested in plants.

Diane And The Nutrition Potion
Return to the Witch’s Hut and you might find that Diane wants to talk to you. Talking to her will give you a quest where she wants to try out the Nutrition Potion’s quality. All you have to do is throw the potion on the bird cage, but this will give you 4 Bird Flowers, which will be extremely useful later on.

Once you’re done with the quest, go back to the Witch’s Hut and interact with the shelf on the right side of the house.
After going through the books, Ellie will figure out that the Prickly Vines in the village are a hybrid form of the White Prickly Vines that are afraid of the moon, and the Little Honey Pumpkin plant that endlessly regenerates until the core is destroyed.

You’ll then have to go back to Kyla’s ruined house to investigate the vines. Ellie will decide that she might be able to reach the core if she follows the vines that are partially above the ground all over the Green Forest Plains.

Decoding The Ancient Witch Language
As you inspect Kyla’s ruined house, Ellie and Virgil will discuss how to get rid of the core now since they no longer have a Phoenix Feather to craft the Moon Oil. Ellie then remembers the recipe she found that was written in Ancient Witch’s language.

You will gain a Keyword about the topic. Now, you have to go to Diane outside the Witch’s Hut and talk to her about this Keyword. Diane will be relatively unhelpful, but she will suggest that you use the Enhance Intellect Potion to read the Ancient Language.

You can buy the disposable recipe for the potion from Diane for 15 Luna Coins. Consume the recipe from your bag to learn the details on how to craft the Enhance Intellect Potion. You’ll need four Bird Flowers and four Pumpkin Terrier Furs to brew it.

Brewing Enhance Intellect Potion
Fortunately, you’d have four Bird Flowers already after completing the Nutrition Potion quest from Diane. But if you’ve got rid of them, you can still obtain more by throwing a Nutrition Potion on a Flower Bird’s head.
Or, you can simply sneak up on Sprout Bird and wait for the flower on its head to sprout. Once it’s sprouted, you can chase away the bird, and it will leave behind a Bird Flower.

For Pumpkin Terrier Fur, you’ll have to approach those walking Pumpkin Plants that you might find in the Green Forest Plains.

Approach these creatures with your gloves on and hold the Interact button. You’ll have to hold it a bit until the creature runs away, and then chase it and hold it again until the bar fills itself. After doing so, you’ll be able to pick the Pumpkin Terrier Fur from the ground.

However, your work here is far from done. Go back to the village during the day and talk to Aurea there. You’ll have to purchase the Roaster’s Handle from her.

Bring back all the materials to the Workplace. Create an extract from the Bird Flowers using the extactor. Use the Roaster to get the Burned Pumpkin Terrier Fur. Now that you have all the items, use the pot to brew the Enhance Intellect Potion.

Brewing Moon Tears
Reading the Ancient Language on the recipe will allow you to learn how to craft Moon Tears, but for that, you’ll need Sacred Water. You should already have a Moonflower remaining in your inventory.

For the Sacred Water, you’ll have to go back to Diane, and after a short conversation, she’ll agree to give you some Sacred Water free of cost.

By now, you should clear Diane’s Shop by buying all of the tools and potion recipes. You’ll need the Nutrition Potion and Earmuff Potion later on as well. Sell some of your other potions, candies, or ingredients to obtain Luna Coins.
Return to the Workplace and create an extract from the Moonflower. Head to the pot after that and brew the Moon Tears. Now, you’re ready to destroy the core, but finding it is still a problem.

Searching For The Core
Most of the paths in the Green Forest Plains are blocked, and the only way open now is through near the summit. But before you head there, it is best to bring at least four of the Nutrition Potions and three Weed Extermination Potions.

Follow the vines poking out from the ground, and you’ll be able to reach the area right before the summit that you have to cross.

Here, you need to throw a Nutrition Potion and the withered beansprout to revive it. You can also throw another Nutrition Potion on the vines on the cliff to make the chest in the top-right corner accessible.

You’ll find three Luna Coin bags in the chest. Once you’ve looted the chest, go to the other side of the platform by using the vines on the cliff. Interact with the chalk in front of the ladder to restore it.
You’ll find tons of useful resources here, but you have to progress downwards. However, as you near the spot, you’ll hear the cries of the Gaga Bird. The bird will be blocking your path, and you’ll need a workaround to get past it.

Dealing With The Gaga Bird
To get past the bird, you’ll need something that can block its deafening sound. You’ll get a keyword for it if you approach it again. Unfortunately, no one will be able to help you regarding this issue except Arden. He’ll suggest that there might be something as a Witch that you can do.

You’ll then have to head back to Diane and buy the Earmuff Potion recipe from her if you haven’t already. To craft this potion, you’ll need two Splash Carrots and two Bluemoon Butterflies.

Bluemoon Butterflies can be caught at night near the summit with a bugcatcher’s net, which can be bought from Diane as well.

For Splash Carrots, you’ll have to head back to the region where you encountered the Gaga Bird, and you’ll find these carrots floating in the water.

You can get in the water to pick up these Splash Carrots. After you’ve got at least two of each material, head back to the workplace to craft the Earmuff Potion. You can unlock the shortcuts by using Witch’s White Chalk if you have any of it in your inventory to make the runback a little easier.

Now, return to the Gaga Bird, and drink the potion before approaching it. Ellie will make the bird run away, and you’ll be able to access Green Forest Plain Depths.

Green Forest Plain Depths
While the effect of the Earmuff Potion is active, you can pull out a few Mandrakes from the ground that you’ll find in this area. Keep following the vines to the centre of this area until you come across a giant gate.

This gate will be locked with no way of passing it for now, but you’ll also find a Witch’s Blue Chalk here. There’s only one place where Ellie has come across a Blue Witch Sigil, and that’s where you rescued Rubrum from the cobweb.

Head back to the place where you rescued Rubrum, and you’ll be able to unlock the area ahead after using the Blue Chalk on the Witch’s Sigil.

Solving The Puzzles Behind The Blue Witch’s Sigil Gate
After you enter the area, you’ll immediately be greeted by a puzzle that appears to be like a seesaw. You’ll have to adjust the weights to make one side touch the switch below the platform.

First, approach the seesaw to the left of the room. Take the weight off the statue on the right of this seesaw. Carry this weight all the way to the statue on the left of the second seesaw.

This will allow the statues to press on both of the switches, and the gate will open. There’s a similar puzzle in the next room, but here, you’ll need the spare potions that you crafted earlier.
Head to the left seesaw first. You’ll need to throw a Weed Exterminating Potion on the Honey Pumpkin Plant on the right side of this seesaw.

Now, grab the weight off the statue on the right side and take it all the way to the seesaw on the right side of the room.

Hang the weight to the statue sitting on the left of this seesaw, but that alone won’t be enough. Use a Nutrition Potion on the right side of this seesaw, and it will cause the switch to be pressed.

With both switches now pressed, a path will open to the center of the room. You’ll find some Red Witch’s Chalk and a Lever here. Pick up the chalk and use the lever.

The lever will unlock the giant locked gate in the Green Forest Plain Depths.

Destroying The Core
Head back to the Green Forest Plain Depths and interact with the gate to open it completely. You’ll find a Ticket to the Witch’s Hut here. This can be used to teleport back to the Hut immediately, but you don’t have to use it right away. Keep going ahead.

You’ll encounter the Prickly Vine Core here, but it will be locked behind a giant bird cage. There’s a Red Witch’s Sigil to the right of the cage. Interact with it using the Red Witch’s Chalk that you acquired earlier.

The game will ask you if you want to use the Moon Tears on the Prickly Vine Core. If you select yes, then it will destroy the core, and all the vines in the village will disappear.

Bringing Kyla Back
Now, you have to go and talk to Enite. Enite will hand you the letter and ask you to give it to the peddler during the day. You can also attach a short message of your own to the letter.

During the day, head to Aurea to deliver the letter. It will take her one full day to deliver it.

The very next day, Kyla will return to the village. She’ll be happy to return and will gladly agree to help Ellie on her quest to restore the village. You’ll have to wait for two days before she finishes repairing her house.

After that, you’ll be able to work towards bringing another villager back, and this time, it will be Roy.

This concludes our walkthrough for destroying the Prickly Vines Core that has troubled the village of Wisteria and bringing Kyla back to the village. For more walkthroughs and further progress in the story, check out our main hub.
