Little Witch In The Woods Walkthrough – Repairing The Fountain In Act 1

Little Witch in the Woods features Ellie, a young apprentice witch, who has been helping a village that was destroyed by supernatural vines. There are tons of challenges that Ellie faces on her journey, but she’s capable of overcoming all of them. For more information on Little Witch in the Woods, check out its official Steam page.

So far, we’ve gotten rid of the Prickly Vines from the village and have restored the houses of Roy and Kyla, alongside the Temple. Enite has asked us to repair the fountain, and that’s where we’ll be continuing in this Walkthrough.

Request To Repair The Fountain

Enite asks you to repair the fountain because she wants this area to be ready for the returning villagers in the future.

If you talk to Kyla, she’ll give you a list of materials for you to provide so that she can finish building the fountain. You’ll be required to deliver 20 units of branches, pieces of rock, and mud.

You can easily get the branches from the trees in the Green Forest Plains area.

For pieces of rock, you can find plenty of deposits all over the Green Forest. You’ll need a pickaxe to mine them efficiently.

Mud can be obtained from the Green Forest Waterfalls and the Green Forest Depths area. You need a shovel to get the mud out of the dirt patches in those areas.

It will take around two full days for Kyla to repair the fountain.

Celebrating The Completion Of The Fountain

After you’ve delivered all of the required materials for the restoration of the fountain, Kyla will tell you that Enite and Arden are planning a party of sorts to celebrate the restoration.

Kyla also suggests that Ellie craft some Firecracker Potions to make the celebrations better. This will also give you a keyword for the topic.

You’ll then have to go to Diane and ask her about the Firecracker Potion. Diane tells Ellie that crafting such dangerous potions requires permission from the Administration.

After a discussion, Diane agrees to sell Ellie a limited recipe for crafting a single Firecracker Potion. You can then buy the recipe from her shop for 15 Luna Coins.

Around this time, you would have received mail from Freddie asking you to visit him in the Green Forest Waterfalls area.

How To Fish

If you go to the Green Forest Waterfall area during the day after reading the mail, you’ll find a bear fishing in some spots. This bear is Freddie, and he’s not a villager, but just someone who lives in the forest.

At first, Freddie is a little overwhelmed by Ellie’s talkativeness. But he eventually agrees to teach her how to fish to show his gratitude for saving the village from the Prickly Vines.

Freddie will give you one of his spare rods to get you started. Now that you have a fishing rod, you can fish near any body of water that isn’t too shallow.

Equip the fishing rod from the tools menu and use it near water. A small circular window will appear near the bait, and it will show you if a fish is close or has bitten it yet.

You don’t have to do anything until the fish bites the bait. Once it does, you have to rapidly press the interact button to fill the fishing bar before the fish’ bar fills to the maximum.

If you manage to fill the fishing bar before the fish, you will be able to catch it. If you see bubbles popping up in any body of water, you should try fishing there because you might be able to catch rarer fish.

After you’ve caught the fish, you can sell it to Freddie by accessing his shop. The fish will be sold in Gold Coins, depending on the fish.

Brewing The Firecracker Potion

The Firecracker Potion requires you to collect 4 Little Mandrake, 2 One-Eye Frogs, and 2 Tinkle Spiders.

Little Mandrake can be found all over the Green Forest Depths area. You’ll need to use an Earmuff Potion on yourself before pulling them out.

One-Eye Frogs can be found in the Green Forest Waterfall area at night. These frogs are transparent, but you can easily spot them due to their distinct white outline.

There are two ways to catch One-Eye Frogs. Either you can tiptoe behind them and grab them with a bug catcher’s net, or wait for them to dive into the water and then grab them with your gloves.

Tinkle Spiders are found in abundance in the Green Forest Depths. But you have to tiptoe near them and use the bugcatcher’s net to catch them.

After you’ve gathered all the required items, toss them into the pot and brew the Firecracker Potion.

Kent’s Second Visit

The next day, Kent will show up at your door in the morning. This time, Kent has done his homework, and he knows that Ellie is supposed to be in Highlion right now.

However, Kent agrees to keep it all a secret due to Ellie’s good intentions for the village.

Ellie then asks Kent if he knows anything about the Witch that originally resided in the Witch’s Hut. Kent doesn’t know as of now, but agrees to dig into it.

After the conversation, Kent can be seen talking to himself in a secluded area about how everything turned out as Blueriver thought it would.

Celebrations For The Fountain

After you’ve finished brewing the Firecracker Potion, you will have to wait around two days before the repairs are finished after you’ve given the required materials to Kyla.

Now, you have to go talk to Enite once the time has passed. She’ll tell you to come to the fountain alongside everyone. The event takes place at night, and you’d have the option to spend time with Enite until it’s time.

As the celebration begins, Enite will give out her famous Pie, and towards the end of the celebration, Ellie will set the Firecracker Potion out, causing a beautiful moment in the sky above Wisteria.

Kent’s Third Visit

Return to bed after celebrating the restoration of the fountain, and Kent will show up for the third time the next morning.

Kent is here with valuable information about the previous witch this time. Kent tells Ellie that the name of the previous witch was Lisa Whitegarden.

Ellie and Kent further discuss Lisa Whitegarden and how the Whitegardens specialized in building gardens, and she came to Wisteria to study the White Prickly Vines.

In the end, Kent reveals to Ellie that he’s not currently aware of the whereabouts of Lisa. He hands over a few of the untranslated books and scriptures that his organization had received from Lisa Whitegarden to Ellie.

Inquiring About Lisa

After the conversation with Kent, Ellie will acquire a keyword for Lisa Whitegarden, which can be used to inquire more about her from the villagers.

Strangely, some of the villagers seem to be happy with Lisa. While the Hybrid Prickly Vines appear to be her work, Ellie refuses to jump to conclusions. If Lisa Whitegarden is really behind the destruction of the village, then Ellie wants to hear why she did all that from her.

Amidst the confusion, if you talk to Rubrum regarding Lisa, he’ll tell you to go and ask the Cat Gods at the temple, as they might know something. Rubrum further clarifies that the Black Cat God will appear if you pray at the temple during the day.

Conversing With The Cat Gods

Head to the temple during the day and pray there, which will cause the Black Cat God to appear. Talk to the Black Cat God, but it will speak in riddles.

Ellie decides that the White Cat God was a lot easier to talk to. As such, she’ll have to pray at the temple during the night to make it appear.

Return to the temple at night and pray there, which will cause the White Cat God to appear.

The White Cat God will tell Ellie that Lisa is currently in the Cloud Valley, which can be accessed after repairing the bridge in the village.

Ellie also asks the White Cat God if Lisa was really behind the Prickly Vines in the village. However, the White Cat God tells her that it would be better if she heard it from Lisa herself.

Fixing The Witch’s Hut

Amidst all this, if you return to the Witch’s Hut, you’ll get stuck in the floorboard. It makes sense considering the Witch’s Hut was extremely old and worn down. You’ll get a keyword for the topic.

Go talk to Kyla about fixing the Witch’s Hut, and she’ll agree. Kyla will ask for 20 units of branches, pieces of rocks, and mud so she can start working on fixing the hut.

Providing Kyla with all the materials will allow you to expand your house. However, all of your furniture and items in the storage chest will be delivered to the mailbox, and some of it will be dropped off on the ground inside the house.

Decorating The Witch’s Hut

If you want to place the furniture again, access the furniture items in your inventory. Use them to add them to the catalogue.

Once done, you can place the furniture in the house by interacting with the Decorating Bell to the left of the house’s entrance.

You will also have to redecorate the Workplace, which can be accessed by interacting with the platform on the right side of the entrance. The Workplace doesn’t increase in size after the initial upgrade, but it will be cleaned up.

As you enter the Workplace, there’s a Decorating Bell to the left that looks like a lantern. You’ll have to interact with it to place the furniture in the Workplace.

After the Witch’s House is fixed, you can talk to Diane to enlarge the Workplace. You’ll also be able to purchase more tools and machines from her. Keep in mind that you can only place one of the processing and crafting machines in the Workplace.

This task is part of the main quest, so you’ll have to complete it to progress to Act 2. If you’re looking for more furniture, you can talk to Diane, Kyla, Aurea, and Roy to purchase and add more furniture to the catalogue.

After you’ve done all of the above, that would mark the end of Act 1 of Little Witch in the Woods. For more walkthroughs, visit our main hub.
