Lorelei and the Laser Eyes Walkthrough – How to find all the Maps

Apart from the Forest Map, which you may have found near the car, there are 5 hotel maps that you can find in document tubes scattered across the hotel. There is also a maze map that you can find along the way.

Each of the document tubes you’ll find is locked by a 3-digit code. In order to deduce these codes, you first need access to the Architect’s Sketches, which can be found in the basement.

Finding and Solving the Architect’s Sketches

On entering the hotel from the front door, go down the stairs to the basement, to the right of the doorway to the foyer.
Go to the back of the basement and then go left through the door to reach the Architect Studio.

Here, examine the sketches on the drawing board. Each sketch has a stamp on the bottom-right: the text on these stamps must correspond to document tube you are trying to open.
Note that while the five puzzles here will remain the same, the solutions to most of these sketches will vary between playthroughs. Furthermore, which document tube corresponds to which puzzle, will also vary between playthroughs.
Thankfully, the Architect’s Sketches will remain in your photographic memory, so you’ll be able to bring them up any time you encounter a document tube.
Here, we will figure out how to solve these puzzles, rather than provide solutions outright (which we can’t).

1. “Symmetric Design”

Here, you have an isometric view of the modules that form the hotel. You’ll have the cost of one module given (this varies), and you have to estimate the project cost by counting the number of modules in the diagram.
Keeping in mind that the structure is of symmetric design, the number of modules is 13 (5 on each wing, and 3 in the center).
Multiply 13 × Module Cost to get the solution to this puzzle.
In our example, the solution would be 13 × 20 = 260.

2. “Modern Design Proposal”

In this one, you’re tasked with finding “hidden costs”. The solution only requires turning your head to the right. The digits ‘714’ become apparent when you look at the walls of the floorplan.
This puzzle does not vary between playthroughs.

3. “Modular Room Design”

Here, you have to essentially play Tetris in your mind and create the figure in the top-left by combining the modules below. Add up their prices and you’ll have the solution.
The modules and room do not change, only the prices do.
The correct modules are the ones marked “130”, “55” and “210” in our example. As 130 + 55 + 210 = 395, that is the solution of our version of the puzzle.

4. “Simple Room Design”

Here we have to find the area of the room, but the “measurements do not make sense”.
This one is simple, because the diagram given is in fact upside-down (apparent thanks to the question mark).
In our example, this means that the length of the room is 18 and the width of the room is 6. The area of the room, that is, 18 × 6 = 108.

5. “Component-based Mansion Design”

In this one, we have to combine the correct left and right components of the hotel to form the design shown in the top-right of the sketch.
Pay attention to the number of windows, the front door, the heights of the towers at the extreme ends, and the ‘pins’ on top of these towers.
In our example, the correct components were “330” and “400”. As 330 + 400 = 730, that is the solution to our version of the puzzle.

Where to Find the Document Tubes

The first document tube can be found to the right of the Architect’s Sketches in the basement architect studio.
On entering the foyer, go right to the bookshelf. The document tube is on one of the shelves here.
On going up the stairs in the foyer, go west and then south. Go past the lithograph and posters to reach the Front West Hallway. The document tube is on top of a bookshelf here to the south side of the hallway.
Go up to the third floor (go up the stairs to the left from the second floor), and then go east past the computer. Then, go south opposite the “1847” door and you’ll find the document tube sticking out of a drawer on the left side of East Hallway, 3rd Floor.
When you gain access to Room 2014, go east and then up the ladder. The document tube can be found on a shelf to the left of the screen.

Where to Find the Maze Map

On gaining access to Room 2014, go east and examine the Maze Lithograph on the wall to the right.
