Lunarium – Walkthrough Part 1: Firleaves

Lunarium Walkthrough

Lunarium puts you in the shoes of Ave, a young aspiring knight. She sets out on a journey alongside Lune, a Starfarer, and the two will end up diving deeper into the mystery of the strange dark matter that has been creeping up on the mountains in Firleaves. From there, the journey of our two protagonists truly begins.

Forest

As the game begins, you’ll find yourself in a forest. You’ll have to progress ahead from the starting location. Try to chop down every plant and rock that you encounter, because these resources will be needed later on.

Eventually, you’ll find a resurrection point. If you’re defeated, you’ll respawn here for the time being. From here, keep moving deeper. You’ll find many enemies in this area, so try to get used to the combat.

At the end of the path, you’ll find Ave gazing at the horizon. To progress, you’ll have to find a ledge where you can jump down from.

There will be a boss enemy here. This Longhorn Troll is the first boss in the game. You’ll have to fight against it and defeat it.

Its attack pattern is very simple. It will repeatedly do two swipes into a smash attack. After you’ve taken out 40% of its HP, it will start to glow red before some attacks. These attacks can’t be parried, but can be dodged.

Once you’ve defeated the boss, it will be consumed by the darkness and rise again. There’s not much you can do against it because it is a scripted battle.

Lune

Ave will pass out of exhaustion. When you wake up, you’ll find a girl taking care of you. She heals Ave up and is quite determined to escort her back to the village.

She’ll introduce herself as Lune, and Ave will leave the Sanctuary with her. You’ll be able to heal yourself now. Keep going straight on the path.

You’ll shortly make your way back to the infected Longhorn Troll. It turns out that the black energy is called Nihilus. You’ll have to fight against the troll once again. However, you’ll be able to heal yourself, and Lune will be here to help you out.

Lune can shoot a powerful arrow of light, which can destroy Nihilus orbs and stagger enemies once their stagger bar is full.

As soon as you’ve defeated the boss, the Nihilus surrounding the area will disappear and you’ll be able to progress ahead.

You’ll shortly arrive at a bench. These benches are your healing points. You can restore your HP, healing charges, and teleport to other benches that you’ve activated. However, resting at a bench also respawns most enemies, so keep that in mind.

Since you’re at a bench, you should unlock more skills depending on the Animus you’ve gathered. Once you’re ready, leave the bench and keep going on the path.

There are more enemies here, as well as bigger wolves. You might come across a ledge from where you can see a vine infected by Nihilus, but you can’t go down there from the ledge.

Mountains

From the area, you have to try to make your way north. After that, you’ll find yourself on a lift. Go up on the lift and keep going.

Keep following the path, and you’ll find yourself near a statue behind the waterfall. You can’t reach it from here, but the path will lead you downwards.

Whenever you spot white flowers, know that a resting bench is nearby. Most of the time, you’ll find out that the paths are so interconnected that you can create more shortcuts to the same bench as you progress through the area.

From the bench, keep going left. There will be a path here. The path will lead you further downward. You’ll then eventually reach the Vine Fungi, the plant that appeared to be consumed by Nihilus.

The Vine Fungi doesn’t attack a lot, except for the occasional swing and the red-flash smash attack. However, the boss can summon small plants that shoot out spikes. These can get very annoying, so try to get rid of them fast.

After defeating the Vine Fungi, you’ll be able to reach the ground level. From here, you can make your way to the resting bench under the statue.

From this resting bench, go southeast. You’ll spot the area affected by Nihilus with all the black thorns. Go through the path here, and you’ll find the next boss shortly.

Shadow Of Firleaves

The boss here is a lot different from the two you’ve encountered before. It will glow red and puke out Nihilus on the ground in front of it.

Shadow of Firleaves can also summon spikes on the ground. Keep an eye on the ground as well when it starts to glow red.

It can also surround itself with spikes when pressured. When the boss glows red, you should just get yourself at a distance. After you’ve taken out 40% of its HP, it will become more aggressive and an eye will appear on its forehead.

In Phase 2, after using an attack where it summons spikes all around it, it will start to glow red once again, and a black cloud will form on top of its head. If you wait, it unleashes an area-wide shockwave, which can be dodged. However, you can also interrupt the boss by using Lune to fire an arrow at it whilte its charging the attack.

After you’ve defeated the boss, you’ll obtain Echoes of Yore and will be able to progress ahead. There’s a Nihilus orb blocking the path, but you can charge Lune’s arrow and fire it towards the orb to clear the path.

You’ll then arrive in Starfall Village. Head to Ave’s house to talk to her grandmother and siblings. Ave’s grandma will ask you to check out your room. When you get there, you’ll find the Wayfarer’s Cloak here. Once you’ve talked to everyone, you can head to the bench outside of Ave’s house to progress the story.

After resting at the bench, Lune will bring you to her Sanctuary. This is your base. You can consume clusters of berries to make dyes at the Fungal Mortar or set up a Loom to upgrade and craft cloaks and embroideries.

First, you’ll have to craft both of them. Head to the table with a hammer on it and select both options. They will be built inside the Sanctuary shortly. After you’re ready, talk to Lune in the middle of the shrine to head for Cyanstone.
