Mind Module
As you start a new game, you’ll find a rover near the Mind Module. Here, you have to enter the Editor and place the Mind Module on the rover.
There’s a spaceship wreck near the Mind Module’s location. Access the spaceship’s storage and transfer all the resources to the rover.

After that, you have to find the starting base. The starting base is located northeast of the starting location. Once you get there, you’ll find two rovers, as well as a broken Locator and Repair Shop.
Most of the structures in the game require power to function. You can generate power by creating generators. At the start, open the workshop in Editor mode and place a wind generator in such a way that both the Repair Shop and Locator fall under its range.

Setting Up A Base
After that, interact with the generator to deliver resources to it. One of the rovers that is already stationed at the base has a construction module on it. Enter Editor mode and take the construction module away from the other rover, and place it on the one that has the Mind Module on it.
Interact with the silhouette of the wind generator and press the corresponding button to build it. You’ll need some resources to repair the Repair Shop and the Locator.

Roam around the map, but be careful as you don’t have a weapon. You can go over the rubble to collect resources. Furthermore, certain enemy camps in the area can provide you with resources.
Clear the enemies around the area, and interact with the storage they’re guarding; you’ll be able to gather resources from them that way. You’ll have to make multiple rounds to the base since you have limited storage.

The other rovers in the base have some storage modules that you can equip and then go to the storage camps to gather these resources.
Once you’ve got the resources, deliver them to the Repair Shop and the Locator. Once all the materials have been delivered, you can build these structures to proceed towards the next objective.

If the Locator or the Repair Shop needs more power, build another Wind Generator connected to both structures. Furthermore, you can use the Repair Shop to heal your rovers in exchange for scraps.

Mind Repository
So far, you’re only able to use one Rover, and even that has space issues since you have to carry the Mind Module. The next objective requires you to build a Mind Repository.
Before you can build a Mind Repository, you’ll have to research it using the Locator. Build the Mind Repository and put the Mind Module inside of it in Editor mode. Once that’s done, you’ll be able to switch to other rovers as well.

Building Weapons And Storage
Now that the Mind Repository is ready, you can focus on other structures. Build a storage – you’ll need many of those, so never hesitate to place more storage structures.
Set up a Workbench. You’ll need a weapon to defend yourself. If you get attacked before crafting a weapon, you can try to shake enemies off or just ram the rover into them to deal some damage.

You’ll also get a side quest for finding a second crash site. Follow the blue quest marker to find the crash site, and you’ll be able to gather a ton of resources from here, especially Plasma, Electronics, and Fuel.
While you’re going around building stuff and gathering resources, you can use the Locator to research new structures and buildings.

The next objective requires you to restore the Observatory Locator, but note that it’s heavily guarded. You won’t be able to get to it unless you strengthen your forces and get better weapons.

Setting Up Defenses
By now, you should be on your third or fourth day. You’ll shortly receive a creepy transmission from the Wasteland Rumble. They’ll warn you that they’re coming for your Mind Module.
The Wasteland Rumble will raid you on Day 8. You have to prepare your defenses to survive the raid. Keep in mind that if your Mind Repository is destroyed, it’s game over, so make sure it is well protected.

By Day 6 and 7, you should have researched Turrets from the Locator. Place multiple Turrets around the base. You should place at least four of them.
You’ll also have to place Wind Generators to power up these Turrets. If there’s a lightning mark on any structures, it means that it isn’t receiving power.
From Weapon Modules, you can either craft the Grumbler Makeshift Canon or the Roar Shotgun. Personally, I picked Grumbler as it deals 10 damage and has a power consumption of 1.

Wasteland Rumble
The Wasteland Rumble will attack on the night of Day 8. It is a big vehicle that utilizes two turrets on the front and a homing missile launcher.
You can avoid the missiles by moving out of the circles where the missiles are expected to land. For turret fire, you’ll have to keep moving sideways to avoid it.

Make sure you’re not hiding behind the base, because the turret fire can easily destroy most of your base. Try to trap the vehicle between the turrets, while you position yourself on the opposite side with your rover.
Make the Wasteland Rumble target you, and place the weapon facing backwards so you can keep shooting while running away from it.

The Wasteland Rumble takes a while to cool down after raining down bullets with the turrets, and that’s when you can start attacking for most of the damage.
You can also use the terrain in your favor to block the turret fire from the Wasteland Rumble. Keep doing that, and you’ll eventually come out victorious.

Keep in mind that you can sacrifice one rover max in this battle. Once your main rover has been defeated, quickly use the second rover to reach it and place the weapon on the second rover in Editor mode, so you can continue the battle.

Rewards For Defeating Wasteland Rumble
Defeating the Wasteland Rumble rewards you with a turret, a rocket launcher, and an Oracle Cube. There’s not much you can do with the Oracle Cube for now, so place it inside your base somewhere near the Mind Repository until you find some use for it later.

The turret you get from the Wasteland Rumble is an exceptional weapon, and pairing that with the rocket launcher, you’ll be able to slowly chip away at the defenses guarding the Observatory Locator.
However, both the turret and the rocket launcher consume 3 power, so you’ll need to use better cabins or heads for your rovers that produce at least 2 power, such as the Simpleton Standard Cabin.

Expanding the Base
Now that the threat of the Wasteland Rumble is gone, you can focus on expanding the production aspects of your base. Research the Geothermal Generator and the Power Transmitter structures.
Place the Geothermal Generator on a Geothermal Point. Connect Power Transmitters to expand the range of the power output. You’ll have to place multiple Power Transmitters.

Some structures require CPU and AI Cores to be researched at the Locator. AI Cores require a structure that is made from advanced resources that you’ve yet to unlock. However, you can set up Servers to increase the CPU. Note that each server increases CPU by 100.
Also note that multiple Locators can speed up the research for new technology. However, you’ll need Electronics to build Servers, as well as the Bot Factory, which produces new rovers.

Electronics are scarce early on, and you’ll only find them by scavenging the trash heaps, that too rarely. Gathering Electronics takes a lot of time early on, but if you’ve managed to take the area around the Observatory Locator, you’ll find plenty of Electronics there.
For now, you should place the digging module on one of your rovers and assign them on digging duty. If you’ve got two extra rovers available, you can assign them both to digging.

Keep setting up Storage structures. If you’ve researched Combined Storage, you should place each storage structure near the other one to increase the capacity.
Even though you’ve defeated the Wasteland Rumble, enemy forces will keep invading your base periodically, so keep improving your defenses and set up turrets and tall turrets to make the base more secure. You can also choose to build walls.

Chipping Away at the Defenses
Now that you’ve got most of your resources and the Turret and Rocket Launcher from the Wasteland Rumble, you’ll be able to do something about the Tall Turrets surrounding the Observatory Locator.
Use the terrain to your advantage. Here, you have to go and attack one turret at a time. Some enemy vehicles will also attack you. When you’re below 40% HP, it’s best to return to the Repair Shop and get healed.

Keep repeating the process until all the turrets and the enemies outside the Observatory Locator have been defeated. You can also use the rocket launcher and return to base to get healed, as the rockets deal 100 damage, but their targets are random.
This will take a while, but you’ll eventually be able to get rid of all the enemies around the area.

Restoring The Observatory Locator
Once you’ve found the Observatory Locator, you’ll have to deliver resources to it to repair it. The Observatory Locator requires 200 scraps, 50 machine parts, and 20 electronics.
Fortunately, there are three storage structures in the camp, and you can get all the required materials, as well as a lot more, from these storage structures. You can spot these storage structures inside the facility by their dome-like appearance.

After the resources have been delivered, you’ll have to send a rover with a construction module to complete building it.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll get a new objective that you have to deliver the Oracle Module to the Daedalus Base and destroy its force field with a plasma weapon.
