Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a chance to step back into Snake’s legendary origin story, rebuilt with breathtaking visuals and modern controls. The dense jungle, tense stealth encounters, and survival mechanics all return, but this time they feel more immersive than ever.
In this part of the walkthrough, we navigate the Chyornaya Peschera Cave and fight The Pain. We have also included the locations of the Kerotan Frogs and Gako Ducks 16.

Operation Snake Eater: The Pain
Chyornaya Peschera Cave Branch
As you get up right infront of you is the Animals Uniform. If it’s too dark for you to see use the Thermal Goggles. Pick up some of the snakes and the crabs around the cave for food. There is a path to the left.
Keep to the left and you will come out into a waterfall chamber.
GaKo Duck 16
There is a duck on top of the waterfall on the right.
There is a small cave beneath that has a glowcap mushroom and a torch.
Equip the torch and get back to the cave where you landed. There is a path behind that leads to a huge cave with light coming in.
Dive down and swim down to the right through the cave and come out the other side. Take a breath and pick up the ration then dive down again and go to the left. Swim through the cave and come out the other side and climb out of the water.
Pick up the glowcap mushroom, battery and AK47 ammo. Dive back down and head back to where you landed and go up the slope. Head to the left in the waterfall chamber and up the ramp. Crouch down and crawl through the cave. In the next chamber pick up the supplies and go through the next tunnel. You will come out in a tunnel with a sink hole in the middle.
Kerotan Frog 16
Look across to the wall and you will see a frog.
On the otherside of the hole is a Night Vision Goggle.
Jump down the hole and swim out to the other side. Go up the ramp and through the same area again but take the right path this time. Keep going till a smaller cave with a skeleton. Pick up the supplies here.
Head back out into the main cave chamber and climb through the tunnel on the left. You will come out on top of the waterfall. Go to the right and up the slope. Go past the bats and skeleton into Chyornaya Peschera Cave.
Chyornaya Peschera Cave
When you come into this area, take the narrow corridor on the right. You will come into a cave with a snake and a M37 Shotgun.
On the side of the cave is a tunnel. Crawl through it and on the other side you can pick up the Snow uniform.
Crouch down and crawl through the next tunnel to exit into a large cave with a small puddle on the left. Go left and turn the corner to come into a cave with a small raised island and water surrounding it. Prepare for a boss fight by equipping the shotgun and grenades.
Watch the cutscene play out.
Boss: The Pain
Immediately switch to the AK and start unloading on the Pain.
Once he calls the hornets to him, throw a grenade at him.
Once the hornets dissipate, start shooting again. Once his head goes down to 50%, phase 2 will start. Once again, throw a grenade at him and jump in the water.
Swim around and come up behind him. Use the shotgun on him to disperse his hornet armor.
When the bees come to you, dive in the water. Swim around and come up behind the Pain. Keep shooting and once he makes a hornet machine gun. If you shoot the clumps of hornets he sends your way you can get a grenade. Keep repeating the process till he goes down.
