Now that we’ve defeated Crow and picked up the Harvester, we are free to head toward Metropolis and check out the once proud city.

Note
This is part of our MIO: Memories In Orbit Walkthrough Hub, so we suggest starting there if you haven’t already.

Mending the Torn Overseer

From the gate where we left off the first part of our walkthrough, continue heading left. Open the large gate that comes up ahead. This leads to the City Gate Attuner. Note that the Overseer is missing. But you can still save your progress and heal.

There’s a door on the left that’s locked from the other side. It’s a shortcut that we’ll be unlocking in a moment. We’ll also mend the Torn Overseer for the Attuner.

After using the Attuner, head back out the door you came through. Use the grapple point above you to launch yourself up, hit the purple flower on the left to refill your energy, and then immediately use Hairpin on a second grapple point above you to climb up.

You’ll have to repeat a similar sequence of parkour to reach a ledge above you. There will be an enemy here waiting for you. Take it down and pick up the Disturbing Curio item from the ground.

Continue climbing up the side of the building using the Hairpin till you reach the top.

Drop down the left side of the building and continue moving forward. Open the door and head through.

You’ll reach an office building. Note the strange backdrop near the center. This leads to an upper chamber, but you’ll have to unlock an ability later to access the area.

Exit the building through the door on the left. Use the grapple point to climb to the ledge above you.

You’ll see an NPC stuck on the ceiling because of the air current. This is one of Mel’s Scraplings. There’s a switch on the other side, but you don’t have any way to reach it without getting caught yourself. Remember this spot and go back down.

Continue moving forward, and you’ll encounter two enemies. There’s a door on your left and a path leading down. Take the lower path first.

You’ll face another group of robots as you drop down to the lower level. Take them down.

If you’re low on health, head left to find a Nacre Basin to restore your health.

Otherwise, continue along the path on the right. You’ll drop down to the ground level. The door on the left is locked and requires the Old-Fashioned Key. Head right, through the open door.

Heading inside the building will trigger a gauntlet. Take down the robots while avoiding the red grass on the ground. After beating all the enemies, the door on the right will open.

Once outside, jump to the upper platform on the right. Go forward to find the Torn Overseer for City Gates Attuner. Interact with it to send it back.

Backtrack to the previous platform and drop to the lower area on the right. Continue heading bottom-right to find the door leading back to the Attuner. Open it to unlock the shortcut.

How to Find the Bell Tower Visitor Pass

Make your way back to the broken bridge where you dropped down from and head left. There’s a large door up ahead but a tough floating enemy guards it.

Take down the enemy and head inside. This is the start of a moderately difficult parkour section. You’ll only need the Hairpin and the Harvester to complete the segment.

At the end of the path, you’ll find an item. Pick it up to collect the Bell Tower Visitor Pass. Break the floor to return to entrance of the section.

mio walkthrough

Drop back down from the broken bridge and this time head left. You’ll spot a Nacre Basin up ahead.

mio walkthrough

Past the basin, there’s another drop off. There’s a Crystalliser on the roof and two flying enemies in the section below you.

Take down the enemies and keep heading left, the door on the right is locked and requires the Old-Fashioned Key. You’ll enter a building and spot a Container up ahead. Don’t Open It Yet!!!

mio walkthrough

Instead, continue past the Container and exit the house through the left. You’ll spot a Torn Overseer on the ground and another Librarian. Interact with the Overseer and talk to the Librarian.

mio walkthrough

Run across the bridge to the left to spot The Blood’s Sanctum Attuner. You can’t activate it just yet.

mio walkthrough

Return to the Container you saw earlier and interact with it. This will drop you to the boss arena.

How to Beat Calderon, Unyielding Furnace

mio walkthrough

The fight against Calderon can be tricky. You can only strike the floating head to deal damage to the boss. But the boss constantly keeps slamming the arena with his four limbs.

mio walkthrough

Proper position is essential for this fight. The Dodge ability is your trump card, and you’ll have to use it constantly to avoid taking unnecessary hits.

mio walkthrough

The second phase of the battle gets even harder as he fills the arena with air currents. This can make positioning yourself extremely difficult. Use Dodge to avoid attacks that you can’t get away from.

The boss has a lot of HP and will take a while for you to beat. Things get easier when you learn to use the Dodge more efficiently.

The Hall of History

mio walkthrough

After defeating the boss, exit the arean through the right side. You’ll reach an item that you can pick up. This is the Old-Fashioned Key.

mio walkthrough

Return to the boss arena, and use the grapple point to get out.

mio walkthrough

Exit the area through the right side, and use the Old-Fashioned Key to unlock the door. this takes you to the Hall of History.

mio walkthrough

Use the grapple point right above you to reach the platform. Pick up the Sharpened Hairpin Modifier from the ground.

mio walkthrough

Drop back down and go to the other side of the area. There’s an elevator here but we’re not going to use it yet. Open the door on the right.

mio walkthrough

Then make your way back to the Attuner. You can now use the Overseer Pathway to travel back to the Nexus Attuner. We’ll be heading back to Haven now to wrap up the rest of the zone.
