MIO: Memories in Orbit Walkthrough Part 6 – Promenade & The Breath

mio walkthrough

Welcome to the sixth part of our walkthrough for MIO: Memories in Orbit.

After unlocking the Glide ability, we can now venture across the dark chasm to the west of Haven.

Note
This is part of our MIO: Memories In Orbit Walkthrough Hub, so we suggest starting there if you haven’t already.

For more information about the game, check out their official website here.

Reaching the Promenade Entrance Attuner

Use the Glide ability to sail across to the other side of the chasm.

You’ll reach a platform on the other side. There’s a Junk Pile that you can break for some Nacre.

Head under the roof to spot a hanging flower. If you go under it, it’ll attack you. You can’t kill it, but hitting it will cause it to become inactive for a while. There’s nothing on the left.

Go right, and you’ll see a door close in front of you. This door can only be accessed by Dr. Halyn’s Assistant.

Get back to the roof where you landed and glide to the upper section on the right.

There’s a difficult enemy up ahead that you’ll have to take down.

Go past the enemy to spot the Promenade Entrance Attuner.

From here, the first thing we’re going to do is find the Torn Overseer for the Attuner. Head right from the Attuner and jump on the platform past the red grass.

Drop down and go through the narrow gap heading downward.

Go left to run into your first boss battle of the zone.

How to Beat Lombre, Intrusive Fertiliser

Lombre, at this point in the game, can be a pretty tough boss despite having a pretty simple moveset.

Basically, the boss keeps burrowing out to the edges of the screen. When he appears in the arena, he’ll either dash horizontally or vertically across, after which he will drill out of the arena.

You can hit the back of the boss as he’s tunneling past the screen. Other than that, you’ll want to keep moving and jumping away as he’s moving.

During the second phase, the boss will also throw gloomwater bombs and drop gloomwater in the arena that will damage you if you get hit. This can be hard to avoid. Use Dodge to avoid getting hit by them. But positioning properly is the best way to avoid taking unnecessary damage.

After defeating the boss, take the left exit to find the Torn Overseer. Interact with it and return to the Attuner.

Promenade is a tough zone. So, before moving on, it might be a good idea to go back to Mel and see if you can get any additional upgrades for Mio. When you teleport back to the Nexus Attuner, you’ll find Ati standing nearby. Talk to her.

Once you’re ready, return to the Promenade Entrance Attuner. We’re about to head to the tower.

Reaching the Promenade Tower

From the Promenade Entrance, start heading right. There’s a hard enemy up ahead in your path. Take it down or run past it.

You’ll reach a jump pad up ahead. If you continue past the jump pad and keep going right, you’ll get to an elevator. Don’t worry about the elevator right now. Use the jump pad to head to the upper section of the zone.

From here, the path splits off again. Go left first.

Use the grapple point to reach a small area. There’s another one of the same annoying enemy you faced earlier in this place. Take it down.

You’ll see a wall with a purple barrier on the left. This requires an ability we’ll unlock later. For now, just mark the spot on your map so that you remember it.

There’s a grapple point that’ll lead you to a Junk Pile on the right. You can drop down past the Junk Pile to the entrance of the room. Remember to hit the flower to disable it before you drop down.

Return to where the path split off earlier and use the jump pad to continue climbing up through the zone.

There will be some flying enemies up ahead that shoot gloomwater blobs up ahead. Keep heading right, past the enemies.

You’ll find some Crystallised Nacre on a platform. From here, continue parkouring through the area to reach the upper level.

Hit the flower above and go left.

Glide across the red grass area to reach a Nacre Basin on the left.

There are more parkour segments up ahead.

Past it, you’ll reach a clearing. Break the flower here to unlock a shortcut back to the room with the purple wall barrier.

Jump to the right, across the gap, to find Alice. Interact with her to reboot her.

Talk to her afterward to learn that a huge beast guards the gate to the Greenhouse. She is talking about another boss that we’ll face a bit later.

Go left to find a jump pad in the red grass and continue ascending through the zone.

Keep heading left to reach a lake. There’s a flower on the ceiling. Strike it and glide across.

Keep heading right (there will be a few more flowers that you’ll have to strike to get past safely) till you reach a door. Open it and head through.

This will take you to an elevator room.

Jump up the platforms to find the Promenade Tower Attuner. Activate it.

Picking up the Fragment Serial Number 1

mio walkthrough

From the Attuner, look up to spot a grapple point. Use it to go up.

mio walkthrough

Head left to find an elevator. You’re currently at L1: The Breath’s Spring. L0: Lakeshore takes you to the bottom part of Promenade, past the jump pad that you saw before all the parkour sections.

Let’s head to L-1: <redacted>.

mio walkthrough

This is a zone that we’ll access much later in the game. For now, we’re here to collect one item.

mio walkthrough

From the elevator, go left first. A door will close. This door can only be accessed by Dr. Halyn’s Assistant.

mio walkthrough

Start heading right, past the elevator. You’ll see one of those jumping robots up ahead.

mio walkthrough

Go past the robot all the way to the right to spot an item on the ground. Pick it up to collect a Fragmented Serial Number.

mio walkthrough

With that done, return to the elevator and go back to L1: The Breath’s Spring. Return to the Promenade Tower Attuner and go out through the left exit.

mio walkthrough

From the ledge, glide across to the left platform. There’s a Crystalliser here that you can use to store your Nacre Droplets.

Continue left to reach another edge of a lake. Use your movement abilities to get across. This is a long lake, and there are also some flowers on the ceiling that will attack you if you’re not careful.

mio walkthrough

Pick up the Crystallised Nacre up ahead after getting across. Keep moving forward to reach another boss battle.

How to Beat Nabuu, Keeper of The Breath

mio walkthrough

This might be one of the best boss battles of the game as you go up against a majestic androir stag. The fight isn’t too difficult, as most of the boss’s attacks are easy to dodge.

mio walkthrough

Nabuu has two close-range attacks, a front headbutt and a back leg kick. Both of them can be avoided if you stay on the other side.

She also periodically summons homing missiles that slowly track towards your location. But you can destroy them with a single attack.

Nabuu also has an attack where she charges vertically across the arena that you can dodge by simply jumping over her.

mio walkthrough

The only attack that you need to watch out for is when she slams her horns into the ground, and after a while, horns erupt from the ground that follow your movement. When she uses that attack, you’ll want to keep running in a specific direction.

mio walkthrough

At one point during the fight, Nabuu will jump to the background, and the entire bottom part of the arena will fill with gloomwater. You need to stay airborne while dodging the missiles using the flowers that appear in the arena.

Severing Amytis, The Breath

mio walkthrough

After defeating Nabuu, continue heading left to enter The Breath’s Spring.

mio walkthrough

Keep running across the bridge till you reach a set of Chimes. Interact with it to trigger a cutscene.

mio walkthrough

Once the cutscene ends, you can keep going left. You’ll reach the door to the Greenhouse. Talk to Janus, the Librarian.

Go to the Bell Tower Attuner all the way to the left. Use it to travel back to the Nexus Attuner using the Overseer’s Pathway.

mio walkthrough

Talk to Shii to sever the Pearl.
