Mortal Shell 2 is a Souls-like Action-RPG where you have to collect the Ova of the UnderMether from the corrupted gates and take them back to the Marrow Keep. These Ova are usually guarded by powerful bosses, and you’ll have to beat them first to collect the Ova.

Reaching The Prisoner’s Domain Gate
To get to this corrupted gate, you’ll have to start from the Citadel of Penance. Go south from there. You’ll then reach the Desolate Peak. Travel through the Bone Portals to eventually reach the southwest part of the North region.
From here, keep going south until you reach the Nochtean Gate Beacon. You’ll first have to cleanse it to open the path to the gate.

Nochtean Gate Beacon
As you enter the beacon, you’ll find many enemies with long limbs. Dealing with them one by one is a lot easier, but in some sections, you’ll have to fight multiple of them. Try to lure them away from one another or break them and finish them quickly.
When you reach deeper into the dungeon, you’ll have to jump down. Here, you’ll fight against Vrago, Solikar Champion.

The mini-boss uses a wheel-like weapon. His jumping attacks can’t be blocked, so you’ll have to dodge them. He can also throw the weapon like a boomerang, so stay on your toes.
Overall, most of his attacks can be easily parried. Once you’ve defeated the mini-boss, you’ll be able to clear the corruption and take the Ova, while also cleansing the path to the gate.

Prisoner’s Way
As you enter the dungeon, you’ll come across many enemies. Some of them are fighting against each other. It’s best to let them finish one another off before you try to aggro them.
There will be a warden enemy guarding a gate. Defeat it and pull the lever to unlock the gate.

As you progress, you’ll find a note on the right side of the path. The left side leads you to a Resolve root. There’s a path leading left of the root.
From here, you’ll find a building that you can enter to your right. If you go straight instead of entering the building, you’ll find a giant statue guarded by a few enemies.

Shoot the jars next to the statue to break it down. You’ll then be able to climb on the broken statue and progress deeper into the region.
If you keep going straight on the path, you’ll then reach the Hangman’s Scaffold Beacon. This beacon requires you to fight a horde of enemies at once. You can easily cleanse it after clearing the enemies.

Path To Tishina’s Confessor (Hidden Path)
From the Hangman’s Scaffold beacon, the path is straightforward. If you keep going, you’ll eventually reach the Executioner’s Pulpit Beacon, and Tishina’s Confessor is just ahead of it.
However, you can skip most of the route by using an illusory wall. Go back to the area before the giant statue. There will be a path going right. There’s a wall with a white marking on it. You can destroy the wall with a normal attack and then proceed. This path will lead you straight to Tishina’s Confessor, but more quickly.

Executioner’s Pulpit Beacon
As you activate the beacon and dive into it to cleanse it, you’ll find the Ova locked behind a gate. There will be a long-limbed enemy here. Defeat the enemy. You’ll also spot multiple cells here. You can attack the locks on the cell gates to unlock them.
Hit the first cell gate on your left from the entrance. There will be a switch here. This switch doesn’t open a direct path to the Ova, but another path will appear inside the same cell.

As you go deeper, you’ll find more enemies inside the hall. There’s also a hole in the middle of the room. Don’t fall into it. There are multiple jars that you can explode using your sidearm to deal damage to the enemies.
Next, there will be a small plate next to the locked gate after you’ve cleared all of the enemies in the hall. Shoot the plate with your sidearm.

When you go deeper through the unlocked path, you’ll find some wraiths alongside other enemies. There will also be a chest with the Squall Stone Tarstone.
In the opposite chamber of the one where you found the Tarstone, there’s a pressure plate that unlocks the gate guarding the Ova. Press the pressure plate and proceed to the Ova and return to the surface.

Tishina’s Confessor
Tishina’s Confessor is the last mini-boss before the main boss of the gate. It is a scythe-wielding enemy. You can parry most of its attacks, but its patterns take some time to get used to.
If you’re having trouble parrying the attacks, just attacking and creating some distance is also a valid strategy for this boss battle.

If you manage to knock it down, use your sidearm to deal additional damage to it before the mini-boss gets back on its feet.
Defeating the boss will grant you the Confessor’s Keepsake Tarstone, which allows you to fire a charged shot from your sidearm and is fairly useful.

Nameless Captive
Defeating Tishina’s Confessor will unlock the path to the Bone Portals, leading you straight to the Nameless Captive’s arena. You can also summon a Supporting Shell for this battle.
Nameless Captive has a giant sword embedded in its head, which is what it uses to attack. The boss deals a significant amount of damage, so you’ll have to try your best not to get hit.

There are a few attacks that you’ll have to learn to parry, and they’re quite easy to get the timing down. The first one is where the boss charges at you with the sword and smacks it into the ground. The boss will smack the sword into the ground two more times.
Another attack is where the boss swings its sword horizontally. He’ll first swing the sword from your right to left, and then left to right. This attack has four hits, and the last two hits are a little delayed. If you can parry these two sequences, you won’t have much trouble getting out of the first phase.

After losing around 30% of its HP, the boss will enter a guaranteed stagger break situation. Here, you’ll have to land a riposte to deal significant damage.
However, immediately after using the riposte, you’ll have to get back. The boss gets back up and swings the sword like a fan, and it can easily reduce your HP to 0 in seconds. You can also parry all of them if you’re confident enough.

After losing 50% HP, the boss really starts to get aggressive. He gets a grab attack where he kicks you up. Dodge it. All of his attacks where he thrusts the sword into the ground will unleash a small shockwave when he pulls it out of the ground during the second phase.
You’ll have to stand at a distance to avoid getting damaged. Stay persistent, but don’t get greedy, and you’ll easily be able to overcome the Nameless Captive. If you’ve got the Grisha item, you can use it to knock the Nameless Captive down on the ground, opening him up for a few more attacks easily.

Defeating the boss will reward you with the Captive’s Scabstone item. Be careful to stand at a distance, because his death animation can deal damage and kill you if you’re standing too close to it after defeating it. Recover the Ova from the beacon that emerges after the boss battle.
