Mortal Shell 2 – Walkthrough Part 6: Conquered Temple

Mortal Shell 2 Walkthrough

Mortal Shell 2 is an Action-RPG where you play as the Harbinger. You’ll have to explore the map to find the Corrupted Gates, cleanse the corruption inside them, and take the Ova back to the Marrow Keep. However, the Ova is often guarded by powerful enemies, and these bosses are there to test your skills as you make your progress in the game.

How To Reach The Conquered Temple Gate

To get to the Conquered Temple, you’ll have to start from the Outskirts of Mammon Beacon. Go southeast from there. You’ll enter an area with red-colored leaves.

There’s a settlement here called Sester’s Refuge. You’ll have to go there and keep going southeast until you reach the Sester’s Gate Beacon.

You’ll also find the Abbey Entrance Beacon near the entrance to Sester’s Refuge. However, to enter the gate, you’ll first have to cleanse the Sester’s Gate Beacon.

Sester’s Gate Beacon

As you enter the beacon to cleanse it, you’ll find a chest with Coins. Take the elevator and go to the depths. Defeat the enemies on the way, and you’ll find out that many paths here are broken.

Here, you’ll have to use your sidearm to attack the bells. If you attack the bells, the path will be repaired, and you’ll be able to progress deeper into the area.

Keep going, and you’ll encounter a bridge. The bridge is broken into three places. However, there are three bells on the ground that you’ll have to ring to repair the path on the bridge.

Keep in mind that there are enemies near these bells. Once you’ve rung the bells, you can cross the bridge safely.

When you reach the top, you’ll find an arena here. You’ll first have to fight Twin Sesters. They’re exactly like the crossbow and rapier enemies that you’ve encountered in the area before, but these have a ton more HP.

After you’ve defeated the Twin Sesters, you’ll have to fight the Stray Sesters. This is just one enemy, similar to the Lance Sesters you may have encountered in the area before. Just focus on parrying their attacks, and you’ll be able to defeat them easily.

Defeating the Stray Sesters will reward you with the Black Needle weapon and the Sester’s Crest Tarstone.

Furthermore, you’ll find the Ova just ahead. Cleanse them and return to the surface.

Valley Of The Revered

After returning to the surface, pass through the Cleansed Gate, and you’ll arrive in the snow-covered Valley of the Revered.

The enemies here hit hard and can freeze you on the spot, but they only require one parry to be staggered. You’ll also find many Martyr’s Ash items in the area. This item provides resistance to the Freeze status effect and is quite useful in this area.

This initial area can be a little challenging to pass through due to the number of enemies here, but you can also simply run past them. Keep going, and you’ll reach a Bone Portal.

You’ll immediately encounter some brigands. Go downward from this area. Try to make your way to the thin pathway. As you enter, you’ll find some ranged enemies.

There will be a great hall here. You’ll find many units of Martyr’s Ash inside, as well as the Thawed Gland. You need this item for later, so don’t forget to pick it up.

Keep going. There will be a bridge connected to a similar building. Once you reach the other end, make your way downwards. You’ll eventually reach the Winterglass Lake Beacon.

Winterglass Lake Beacon

When you dive into the Winterglass Lake Beacon to cleanse it, you’ll enter the Mornefrost Grave area. Some of the paths here are blocked by stone hands.

There will be a path to your right. Try to look for some bodies here. One of the bodies is wearing a crown. Take the Immaculate Crown and return to the main bridge area.

Walk to the path that is blocked by the stone hand. However, now that the Immaculate Crown is in your inventory, the hand will move by itself and open a path for you.

As you walk in, you’ll find a Caged Grisha here. It can inflict frost, so be careful. Once you’ve defeated the mini-boss, you’ll be able to cleanse the Beacon easily.

Broken Bridge

After returning to the surface, progress ahead. You’ll find a bridge, but parts of it are broken. There are two bells on the ground that you can ring to piece the bridge together, but you won’t be able to find the third one on the ground.

Fall on the frozen lake. Be wary of the holes in the lake because enemies can jump out of it. There’s a wooden log here that you can vault over.

Keep going through the path here, and you’ll arrive on the other side of the bridge. You’ll also find the third bell here. Note that you could hit the bell from across the broken part of the bridge, but it’s hidden in the fog, and you can’t really spot it easily.

Urrig, The Executioner

After crossing the bridge, you’ll find a few brigands on one of the paths. If you’ve obtained the Immaculate Crown, the path here will open as the hands move away.

You can then move ahead to fight against Urrig, the Executioner, to obtain the Warden’s Stone Tarstone and to progress deeper into the gate.

The boss attacks and moves similarly to the other warden enemies that you’ve encountered so far, but this one has a hammer, and it can also inflict frost with its attacks.

Focus on parrying most of its attacks, as it’s not too much of a challenge. Keep an eye out for the unblockable attack where the boss swings his hammer around thrice and more.

After defeating Urrig, jump on the white jump spring. Progress through the burning village and you’ll arrive at a giant elevator. Press the switch on the elevator to make it go up.

Once you reach the top, you’ll find Ruk here and Gragu as a Support Shell Summon. There’s also the Ovate’s Chamber Beacon here.

To cleanse the Ovate’s Chamber Beacon, you’ll have to fight several brigands and those frost zombies before you can reach the Ovum.

There are no puzzles here. Once you’ve cleansed the beacon, you can head straight to the boss arena ahead.

Droeg, The Conquerer

Droeg uses a gigantic bone as a club. The main attack here that you should be looking to parry is when he sweeps the floor with his club twice and then smashes the club on the ground. Parry the first two hits, and dodge the delayed smash.

Another attack to keep an eye out for is the one where he puts the club on his shoulder and smacks the other edge on the ground, leading into two sweep attacks from his club.

After losing 40% of his HP, Droeg will unleash an attack where he holds his head in pain. You’ll see the dodge icon on him. He’ll then curl up on the ground, summoning hundreds of projectiles surrounding him that hit everything that moves.

Here, you’ll have to try to get as far away from the boss as possible. These orbs can deal a ton of damage and inflict both frost and burn status effects. Stay far and keep running sideways so you don’t accidentally get attacked by them until they’ve dispersed.

Droeg will also coat his club in flames. If you get hit by his club when it’s coated in blue flames, you’ll be inflicted with Frost and Burn status effects.

When the boss has around 30% HP left, he’ll start using the curl-up projectile attack a lot. Be patient, use your parries whenever you get the opportunity, and stagger him to finish him off.

After defeating him, you’ll obtain the Conqueror’s Reward Tarstone. Furthermore, a new beacon will appear from the arena, which is a little different from other post-boss battle beacons.

Conqueror’s Hoard Beacon

As you enter the beacon, you’ll find a ton of Ova here. Cleanse the corruption, but you’ll spot a bath going deeper into the beacon, just behind the Ova.

On the other end, you’ll find a structure that somewhat resembles a beacon’s shape. You’ll get the prompt here to pray. Use that, and the path will open.

In this area, an extreme blizzard will be ongoing. You’ll take damage if you stay in the open for too long. However, there are some bonfires where you can rest and heal.

You won’t take the periodic damage in the area as long as you stay within a bonfire’s range.

Keep going from one bonfire to the next. Jump on the spring and move to the next bonfire ahead. You’ll find many enemies on the way, but it’s not worth fighting them. Just keep running.

You’ll eventually reach an area filled with multiple bonfires, but there are also a ton of wraiths here. Run to the other side. You’ll find a path that leads you to what appears to be a gigantic skull’s mouth. Enter the mouth and the reality will shift.

Turn back, and you’ll find an entirely different landscape. There are more enemies here. You’ll also find a chest on the other end.

The chest will drop the Frostshard Stone Tarstone. There’s also a warp point here that will return you to the entrance of the beacon immediately.
