Moss: The Forgotten Relic Book 2 Walkthrough – Part 1

Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough covering Part 1 of Moss: The Forgotten Relic Book 2.

After overcoming Sarffog and finally reaching the castle, Quill reunites with her uncle Argus, who remains imprisoned inside a cage. Thankfully, freeing him is easier than expected, and before long the two are together once again.

However, they reunite only briefly. To Quill’s surprise, Argus reveals that the Arcane’s attack was never just about capturing him. Their true objective is the King’s Glass, and the danger threatening the kingdom has only just begun.

The Beginning

The start of the book tells the story of how the war in Moss began with the Five Glass and how the Arcane have always sought to get their hands on them. A guardian protects each piece.

After that, you will get a recap of what happened in the first book, where Quill found one of the Glass pieces and her uncle Argus rushed to the Sprites to warn them about it.

This led to Argus’s capture and prompted Quill to set out on a journey to the castle to save him. She successfully completed her mission, but the Arcane threat did not end with Sarffog, as an even greater danger awaits.

Retrieve Argus’ Sword

You will start at the entrance of the castle where Quill defeated Sarffog. The Wisp, now in his true form, will drop Argus’ sword nearby as Quill searches for it.

Once you pick up the sword, enter the castle and continue forward. In the first room, you will need to pull the pillar into position so you can cross to the other side and progress.

In the next room, go all the way to the right and climb up before pulling the movable pillar toward you. Stand on the pillar and move it across to the other side.

Make your way to the button and press it. This will open the gate but also lower the fixed pillar. What you need to do next is place the blue pillar on top of the lowered pillar to keep the door open.

Go through the doorway and you will find Argus waiting for you. He is weak from everything he has been through, so he now relies on Quill for protection.

Reach The Throne Room

The King’s Glass is hidden beneath the throne room, and that is where you need to go.

In the next area, Quill will be attacked from behind by an enemy, but Argus will quickly take care of it. This serves as a tutorial reminder for healing, so simply follow the healing prompt when it appears.

Continue forward by climbing to the top and interacting with the lever to open the gate. Soon after, you will enter an area where enemies ambush you. Defeat all enemy waves to clear the path forward.

In the next room, the gate is closed, but there is a floor button behind it and an enemy nearby. This serves as a reminder that you can control enemies.

Simply grab the enemy and place it on the button to open the gate. You can defeat the enemy afterward if you want, but it is not necessary.

In the following room, you will notice a movable pillar and a floor button. Move the pillar north so you can climb on top of it. Then move it to the right so you can reach the upper floor.

From there, make your way to the lever on the left and activate it. This will summon an enemy that you can control. Since the pillar is blocking your path, place the enemy on the floor button to unlock the door.

This door leads directly to the throne room. Head to the center, where the throne is located. It appears that Argus’ sword is the key to the crest above the throne.

Using the sword reveals a hidden passage beneath the throne room.

Obtain The Second Glass

As Quill and Argus descend into the secret chamber, they are stopped by a mysterious voice. Argus recognizes it as Barnanrd, whose duty was to protect the King’s Glass.

The enemy they are preparing to face is far stronger than Sarffog, and even gathering all Five Glass pieces may not be enough for the small group to defeat it.

Because of this, Quill must travel to the Sprites and convince them to join the fight. Before she can do that, however, she must first secure the second Glass.

In the secret chamber, simply climb the stairs to the altar and claim the second Glass. Once you have it, return to the throne room.

Meet The Sprites

You will notice an entrance glowing green. This is the portal leading to the Sprite Realm. Go through it and enter the giant green door. Ignore the flaming door for now.

Continue forward until you meet the Toad once again. Quill explains that she needs to reach Vada and convince her to join the fight.

Despite warning Quill that Vada will never agree, the Toad opens the path forward and asks you to follow the Sprite Bud to find her.

Follow the Sprite Bud into the next room, where you must activate all three devices to remove the roots blocking the path.

The first two devices can be reached by climbing the leaves around them. For the third one, push the box all the way to the right, climb the leaves, and stand on the branch.

Jump onto the box and circle around to reach the final device. Once all three devices are activated, the path forward will open.

Shortly afterward, you will enter an area filled with enemies. Defeat all enemy waves before continuing north.

Unlock The New Ability

You will find a tree with a mask-shaped opening that you can interact with. Doing so grants Quill a new ability.

Whenever you encounter vines on a wall, you can use the Glass Power to grow leaves, creating climbable surfaces that allow Quill to scale walls.

The wall on the right is the perfect place to test this new ability. Use it on the vines and hold the prompt to grow leaves, turning the wall into a climbable surface.

Keep in mind that the leaves only remain for a limited time before disappearing, so climb quickly. In addition, this ability allows you to connect floral points and create traversable paths.

The starting point is marked by glowing light-blue flowers, while the destination is identified by pale blue vines.

The best example is right here in this room. To backtrack, simply connect the glowing flowers to the anchor point by holding the prompt and dragging it across.

Make Your Way To Vada

With your new ability, you can now reach previously inaccessible locations and eventually find the Sprite settlement. Backtrack to the previous room and head all the way south.

Use your ability on the vines to climb upward, then create a bridge to the far-right platform to continue.

Jump across and create another bridge to move forward. Next, grow leaves on the wall to reach the first device, removing one-third of the roots blocking the way.

The second device is located in the upper-right corner and can be reached through platforming.

The final device is in the lower-left area. To reach it, remove the first bridge and reconnect it to the lower platform. Once all three devices are active, the roots will disappear.

In the next section, the path is blocked by rubble. Fortunately, a Ticker enemy will appear. Control it and direct it into the rubble to destroy it, then use your leaf-growing ability to climb upward.

Connect the glowing flowers to the anchor point on the right side and make your way to the far-right floor button. Stand on it to spawn an enemy.

Your next objective is to move the enemy onto the floor button on the far right. Start by dragging it to the first button, then recreate the bridge and guide it across.

Once the enemy is standing on the second button, the platform leading upward will remain active. Now connect the bridge to the flowers and vines above, then climb your way upward.

Grow the leaves here and you will be able to cross into the next room. Upon arrival, defeat all enemy waves that appear.

From there, continue forward and you will eventually return to the room where you activated the three devices earlier.

Backtrack to the Toad and he will notice that you obtained the new Glass ability needed to reach the Sprites. Simply grow the bridge leading to the right-side entrance and continue onward to reach Vada.

Just as Quill explains the situation and asks the Sprites to join the fight, things do not go as planned.

When she mentions that reuniting all Five Glass pieces may be the only solution, Vada becomes furious. The last time the Glass was reunited, it resulted in a catastrophe.

Quill is ultimately asked to leave the settlement, but she remains determined to stop the growing threat facing the kingdom.

As soon as you leave the Sprite Realm, Aderyn the Wisp appears. Not only did he survive, but he also claims to know where the next Glass can be found. Naturally, Quill follows him, which leads her to the Greenhouse.

According to Aderyn, you must break the Hex, reach the Keeper, and claim his Glass in order to continue the journey.
