Moss: The Forgotten Relic Book 2 Walkthrough – Part 4

Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough covering Part 4 of Moss: The Forgotten Relic Book 2.

After Aderyn informs Sahima about what happened to Quill and the stolen Glass, she doesn’t hesitate to leave her realm and return to the castle to see the situation for herself. Although Sahima has never trusted Aderyn because of his constant tricks and schemes, this time he is telling the truth.

Following his directions, she finds Quill and comes to her aid, returning the Glass and helping her get back on her feet. With the Glass recovered and the Arcane still at large, Quill sets her sights on the remaining enemies, determined to put an end to this growing threat once and for all.

Explore The Foundry

As you enter the first room of the Foundry, you’ll come across a new armored variant of the basic enemy. Unlike the enemies you’ve encountered so far, this one is immune to your control ability.

There’s no need to worry about it yet, though, because you currently have no way of defeating it.

Climb the rocks on the right and make your way up to the upper floor, then continue through the opening in the wall.

In the next area, you’ll notice lava droplets falling from above. These can damage Quill, so carefully work your way across the lower floor while avoiding the falling lava.

Before long, you’ll reach a large cylinder blocking the path forward.

To move it, pull the connected cylinder on the left side, which causes the one in front of you to retract. Continue into the next room and defeat the enemies waiting there.

The next obstacle uses the same mechanic. Two cylinders are linked together, and pulling the one on the left will retract the one on the right.

Move Quill over to the right-side cylinder and pull it upward to open a route into the next room. As soon as you step inside, the gate behind you will close.

From here, pull out the cylinder on the left to reveal the path hidden behind it, then repeat the process with the second cylinder before continuing through the entrance ahead.

Obtain Cariel’s Hammer

Inside this room, you’ll find a statue holding Cariel’s Hammer. Approach it and hold the interact button to release the weapon and claim it for Quill.

Cariel’s Hammer is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, capable of defeating most enemies in a single hit. The tradeoff is that, as a two-handed weapon, it attacks much more slowly than Quill’s other options.

Its charged attack allows you to place a Hammer Trap at your current location, which can be activated at any time by pressing the interact button.

When triggered, the trap unleashes a powerful shockwave that damages enemies, destroys metal objects, and activates Hammer Buttons.

The room conveniently serves as a tutorial for the weapon, so use the charged hammer attack on the Hammer Button to raise the nearby platform.

Before leaving, take a moment to destroy the metal crates scattered around the room, as they contain additional Relic Dust.

Reach The Warden Gate

Backtrack to the previous room and head toward the Hammer Button in the center. Place a charged hammer attack on the button, but don’t trigger it right away.

Instead, move Quill onto the platform north of the button, then activate the trap to raise the platform and gain access to the upper floor.

Your next task is to pull both cylinders into position and create a path forward. Once that’s done, use the charged hammer attack on the armored enemy to break away its metal plating.

With its armor removed, the enemy can finally be controlled normally. Take control of it and move it to the far-left side of the room, placing it on the floor button to open the gate.

After passing through, return to the previous area, where you’ll find another Hammer Button in the center of the room. Activate it with a charged hammer attack to descend to the Warden Gate.

The gate requires two key items to open, with one item needing to be placed into each handle. For now, head back to the upper floor and take the staircase in the top-right corner.

Unlock The Warden Gate

Inside this room are two separate paths, each leading to one of the key items needed to open the Warden Gate. You can tackle them in either order, but we’ll start with the left path.

To unlock the gate on this side, remove the enemy’s armor using the charged hammer attack, then take control of it and place it on the nearby button.

This opens the way forward and grants access to the first puzzle room.

Obtain The First Key Item

This room contains multiple pink circular devices that need to be destroyed. The puzzle can seem confusing at first, but it becomes much easier once you understand how the different mechanics connect together.

Begin by activating the Hammer Button in the center of the room, which opens the gate on the left side.

Head up to the upper floor and follow the path to the end, then switch to the Chakram and use its charged attack on the marked surface.

As you backtrack, the Chakram’s path will eventually intersect with the device. Once it connects, recall the weapon.

Destroying the device removes the barrier protecting the rotating power disc near the button. You can now rotate the disc to redirect the power flow, so turn it toward the right side to unlock the gate there.

Make your way back to the upper floor and interact with the lever, opening the small gate downstairs and releasing a Bomber enemy.

Return to the Hammer Button and activate it again to reveal the device in the top-right corner, then take control of the Bomber and use its attack to destroy the target.

Next, deal with the top-left device in the same way. Rotate the power disc toward the left side, activate the Hammer Button to reveal the target, and use the Bomber to destroy it.

With both devices taken care of, rotate the disc so the power flows north and place a charged hammer attack on the button. Don’t activate it immediately.

Instead, move Quill onto the circular platform ahead, then trigger the hammer trap to raise the platform and open the way forward. Continue into the next room to collect the first key item.

Obtain The Second Key Item

Return to the room with the two branching paths and take the route on the right this time. To unlock the gate, simply activate the Hammer Button using the charged hammer attack, then drop into the room beyond.

You’ll immediately notice the chest containing the second key item positioned above the arena. Fortunately, this section is much simpler than the previous puzzle.

All you need to do is carefully platform across the rocks on the right side, using them to climb toward the chest and collect the second key item.

With both key items now in your possession, make your way back to the Warden Gate and place them into the handles. Doing so unlocks the gate and triggers the boss fight against the Warden.

Defeat The Warden

The Warden is a massive boss who begins the encounter fighting with his fists before eventually switching to his hammer.

During the first phase, his primary attack consists of slamming his fists into Quill’s location, though regular attacks won’t do much in return because he’s protected by heavy metal armor.

To damage him, you’ll need to rely on Cariel’s Hammer. Watch for the Warden’s third attack, as there’s a brief moment after the strike lands and before he pulls his hand back.

This short opening gives you enough time to place a charged hammer attack and hit him with it.

Continue repeating this process until the Warden becomes frustrated and grabs his hammer. He’ll then activate the furnace behind him, raising its temperature to the maximum while infusing the weapon with fire.

At the same time, waves of enemies will begin spawning on Quill’s platform, forcing you to divide your attention between clearing the adds and avoiding incoming attacks.

Once the enemies have been dealt with, the Warden enters his second phase.

Expose The Weak Points

The Warden starts slamming his flaming hammer into the arena. The impact zone is clearly highlighted in red, making it easy to see where each attack will land, but the real danger comes afterward.

Every slam sends a fiery shockwave across the platform, though these can be avoided by simply jumping over them.

Rather than rushing in, stay patient and wait for the Warden to strike the center of the platform, which causes multiple shockwaves to spread outward at once.

This creates the opening you need to pull the hammer from its mounting point, exposing two glowing weak points, one on either side.

Your objective from this point onward is to destroy both weak points. The process can take several attempts because the Warden will repeatedly return to the furnace to reignite his weapon, forcing you to create the same opening again and again before dealing more damage.

After you destory both weak points, the Warden enters a berserk state. His attacks become noticeably faster, but the overall strategy remains unchanged.

Continue baiting out the center slam, pull the hammer free whenever the opportunity appears, and focus on damaging the exposed weak points.

Eventually, the hammer will become weakened enough that the Warden himself becomes vulnerable. When that happens, the fight is nearly over.

Quill can climb onto the hammer and make her way up to the Warden, allowing her to deliver the final blow and bring the battle to a close.
