Investigate The Decrepit House

You will find yourself inside a house as soon as you reach the Wetlands. As you make your way through the house, you will hear some crooked cops talking.

Drop down the hole in the ground and reach the basement. Here you will find the crooked cops that were talking; defeat them. Open the door to the next room and defeat the cop here.

Jack can interrogate this cop in order to learn what they are all up to. The crooked cop confesses and tells Jack that they were ordered to plant a few bombs in order to clear out the swamps and get rid of the cheeseleggers.
It seems the crooked cops have a beef now with the cheeseleggers after working together.
Search The Swamp For Clues

Jack now needs to find the cheeselegger boss first before the crooked cops get to him. Exit the building and head north. You need to clear out all the enemies along the path.

Eventually, you will reach the mine entrance east. Explore it, and more enemies will come your way.
After you defeat them and before you go inside, check the house opposite the entrance of the mine, and you will find a clue hanging on the wall.

Next, climb up to the rooftop and look west. You will find a small wooden platform where a schematic waits for you to pick up.

Now go inside the mine and progress forward. To your left, activate the switch and it will open the other side. Follow the tracks west, then climb up to the upper floor and follow the path ahead.

As soon as you exit the mine, look left, and you will find some money inside a cage.

To unlock it, look up and hit the target to open it. In addition to that, to the left of the building ahead, you will find a safe with even more money.
Track Down John’s Recipe

You will find an old cheeselegger in the building ahead that you can speak to. This is part of John’s side job, Perfect Bog Fondue, where you need to get the secret recipe.
However, the old mouse will not make it easy for you. He asks you to find three secret thingies for him scattered around the swamp area.
Find Your Way To The Hilltop Mansion

Continue your way through the swamp and you will be able to see a mansion on the hilltop; this is where you need to make your way next. Defeat the enemies here and then go all the way around to unlock a shortcut by activating the switch.
Here, you will find another mine entrance southwest; go inside. You will find yourself on the other side where you turn the light on.

The elevator is not working and you need to make your way down. There is a straight path here so simply follow the detective brush. Along the way, you will come across one of the three thingies for the old man.

The path will end at a wooden plank and you just need to do it the old pirate way: walk the plank. Or if you are more into Assassin’s Creed, then do a leap of faith. Either way, you are jumping into the unknown.

Thankfully, you will be falling into water so Jack is safe. Swim to the ground and then activate the switch here; this will unlock the Warp-Pipe. There will be a book next to it that you can interact with in order to learn how they work.

Basically, you will find these pipes across the rest of the game and they can be used to teleport from one location to another. There is a first time for everything, so use the warp-pipe here to make it to the other side.
After warping, turn your flashlight on and progress ahead. You will find the door locked and you need to follow the cable in order to reach the switch to activate it.

This will not only unlock the door but will also activate the power. This also means that it will attract more enemies your way. Defeat all enemies and head back to the door location.

Go through it and follow the path ahead until you reach an elevator; use it to go up. This will take you directly to the mansion that you saw earlier.
Explore The Mansion

Exit the elevator and take the stairs up to the upper floor until you reach a locked door. Tailpick it and then keep making your way to the top.
Eventually, you will reach the dining room. Here, look north and you will find another one of them thingies for the old man sitting on top of the cheese tower; pick it up.

On the opposite side, you will find a breakable wall. Shoot the barrel next to it to blow it up.
Go through this entrance and take the stairs up to the west. Follow the path until you reach a room where you will find the Foyer Key on the desk.

As soon as you pick it up, the floor will collapse to the start, and you will have to backtrack all the way up until you took the stairs originally. Instead of taking the stairs now, look in the opposite direction and unlock the door here using the key.

Here, enter the open room, and you will be stopped by a Mad Cultist who is trying to stop you; this will initiate a boss fight against him.
Defeat The Mad Cultist

During the whole boss fight, the Mad Cultist will be hanging around the overlooking balcony and he will constantly be throwing explosives your way.
Now, what makes the fight even more annoying is that these explosives create holes in the floor that could result in your falling and insta-kill you.

That is basically the whole fight. You need to be constantly shooting the cultist and keeping track of all the explosives he is shooting and which part of the floor is still intact so you will not fall.

It is easy to land headshots because the cultist’s head is quite big. We recommend using the James Gun since it has a large magazine before you have to reload. You can use the Devarnisher as well to set him on fire for additional damage.
After you defeat him, you will be able to exit the mansion using the east door.
Locate The Cheeselegger’s Base

As soon as you exit, many crooked cops will be waiting for you, so you need to defeat them all. Luckily for you, there is a Hot Pepper power-up that you can use to set enemies on fire.
From the house exit, turn to your left and go to the end of this way. You will find a newspaper sitting on the bench; pick it up.

Follow the way north until you reach a shack, and here you will be able to pick up a strange doll as a clue. From here, you need to cross the swamp and defeat all the enemies along the way.

You will be able to spot more cop cars on the way ahead, making their way to the station on the other side.

Along the way, there are a few things that you can pick up. On the first platform on the right, you will be able to pick up a schematic hanging on the tree.

Midway through, you will find a submarine. Go inside and use the warp-pipe there; it will take you to a secret location that contains some money and extra ammunition.

On top of the submarine, you will find a jumping platform, and just underneath it, quite sneaky, you will find the third and the last of them thingies for the old man.
Now the problem is there is no way to backtrack to his location, but continue progressing for now.
Get To The Boss Before He Croaks

Now that is all done, continue your path until you reach what looks like the station. There are a few ways to go inside and we went ahead and started with the locked door to the far right (south).

Tailpick this door, go inside, and take the stairs to the left. This will take you to another warp-pipe that you can use to reach another secret location. Here you will find tons of money and a baseball card.

Follow the detective brush southeast until you reach a hole in the ground. Drop down, then open the door to your right where you will find the cheeselegger boss beaten up.

Jack will question him, and during the conversation, he will confirm that the cops just used them to achieve their plan and that the Ze Professor is also in alliance with them and surprisingly, someone else, someone we do not know yet.

On his last breath, the boss will mention that the route is going straight to the Depths, which is your lead to your next location.

As soon as you finish the conversation with the dying mouse, the ceiling will collapse and a different mouse, MacLeod, will appear and will throw a grenade your way and cause the place to flood.
Reach The Pier And Escape

Do not stress; you can take your own time despite the objective telling you to escape. You will not drown or die or any of that, but you need to find a way out of here.
Start by using the wooden platform to reach the upper floor. From here, go through the hole in the wall and follow the way northwest to reach the next building. Once you do, you will be “safe” and you can explore around if you want.
Exchange The “Thingies” For The Recipe

After you exit the building, look south and continue this path until you spot the old mouse sitting on a pile of cheese northeast. Speak to him and deliver the thingies that he asked for.

In exchange, the old cheeselegger will give you John’s recipe so that you can give it back to him after you finish with your investigation here. To his right, you will find a secret and a comic page sitting on one of the boxes.
Finish The Job

It is time to finish the job, so make your way to the pier where you will find a plane parked there. As soon as you reach it, you will see a boat that has the same guy from earlier, MacLeod, and he is coming for you.
This is another annoying boss fight because you will have only a few platforms that you can use to stand on, while the water around is toxic and will drain your health. MacLeod will be going in circles.
All you need to do is try not to stay on one platform for too long; otherwise, it will sink and reduce the number of safe places that you can stand on. Then spam shoot MacLeod. In addition to that, defeat any other flying enemy that spawns here.

After you defeat MacLeod, a short cutscene will show a few fish attacking and finishing him up alive. Make your way to the boat and look for anything left in his remains; you will be able to pick up his notebook.
Use the airboat to leave and head back to town where you need to wedge these clues into the rest of the puzzle.
Head Back To Little & Big With The Recipe In Hand

As soon as you reach the town, go to the bar and hand John his recipe. He will be grateful for your help and will reward you with an additional two Spike-D tokens.
You can also speak to Stilton and Wanda to get some more dialogue, but it is optional.
Pin Your Far Wetlands Clues

Head to your office and interact with your crime wall. Pin all the clues you have found in the Wetlands.
A few clues will resolve leads and you will get two locations that you can go and investigate to get more leads on this mess.
