Jack’s meeting with Miles Curd at the Opera ruins in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire leaves a bad impression, leading him to question why Curd acted the way he did when asked about Betty.
This is why you need to pay a visit to Curdsville, uncover whatever is behind this behavior, and dig up some dirt on him.
Table of contents
Reach Miles Curd’s Mansion

You will start at the location in the forest area, and you need to progress to reach the mansion. You will find the Old Shrew standing near a gate, so speak to her.

The shrew will begin speaking in puzzles, and Jack tells her he needs to reach Curd’s mansion in order to investigate. She will disappear, and the gate behind her will open, but you will meet her again.

Pass through the gate and defeat all the enemies in the graveyard. Follow the path toward the north until you reach a locked gate with multiple pumpkins around it.

Approach the pumpkin in the middle, and it will turn around and offer you a new weapon called Kiss Kiss. This is a double-barreled shotgun that deals a lot of damage to enemies and sets them on fire.
In the next area, you will face a lot of enemies, and you can use your new weapon to try it out. Keep in mind that it comes with less ammunition than your other weapons.

After you defeat all enemies, go inside the house to the west. Before you drop down, enter the room to your right, and you will find a bunch of money, along with a schematic hanging on the wall.
Then drop down, go through the hypnotic spiral, and progress forward deeper into the cave. At this point, you will find a locked door that requires the Cheese Pump Key, but you will find it later in the mission.

Jump to the other side and use the switch to activate the elevator. Use it, and you will find yourself on a balcony overlooking the abandoned village just outside the mansion entrance.
Around this area, there are a few secrets that you can discover:
From this balcony, turn left and go north behind the pipe, and you will reach a secret spot where you can find additional money and some ammunition.

The building next to it has a locked door, so tailpick it and go inside. Turn your flashlight on because it is too dark, then head to the end of the hallway where you will find another secret, a safe that contains money.

To the east of the village, go to the windmill building and move around it from the left path. You will be able to find a Baseball Card sitting on a box, so pick it up.

You can also search around for ammunition, shields, and health in this area if needed.
Talk To The Caretaker

Once you finish exploring, proceed to the entrance of the mansion. You will find the gate locked, and the caretaker is guarding the door.
Jack tries to speak to him, but the caretaker interrupts him and immediately says no visitors. He mentions that Jack is more stubborn than his “ex-wives,” with an s, plural, and this might be a hint.
Talk To The Old Shrew Lady

Right after you finish your conversation with the grumpy caretaker, you will hear the voice of the same Old Shrew from earlier.
Go and speak to her, and as you might expect, the ex-wives are your way to bypass the caretaker. It seems that this Old Shrew knows more than she appears.
The ex-wives are dead, and you need to find their wedding rings in order to help you in your task. As you finish speaking to the Old Shrew, she disappears once again.
Along with that, the window of the house on your left will blow up, indicating that this is where you need to go next.
Solve The Three Wives Problem
Investigate The Spooky House

There will be a bunch of enemies around that you need to deal with, so defeat them quickly.
You need to reach the house that just had its window blown open, and to reach it you will need to do some jumping.

To the southeast, you will find a building with a bell on its door. Go inside and climb up the stairs.
On the upper floor, you will find a hole in the wall that you can use to jump from one building to another until you reach the broken window.

Inside the spooky house, you will be able to find the first wedding ring.
Interact with it, and the ghost of the first ex-wife will appear in front of you and speak to you. She is ready to help you with your problem.

Before you leave the building, there is a schematic lying on the ground, so pick it up.
Check Out The Windmill

Your next destination is the windmill, so make your way there. As soon as you approach the entrance, the door will open and you will be attacked by a few enemies.
The windmill is not functioning, and it is missing both power and the key, so you need to get to work. First, you need to power it up.

Move around and use the jump pad to reach the upper floor. Jump to the other side, then exit the building through the gap in the wall. You need to enter the other building in front of you.
You can drop down from here and open the door to unlock a shortcut to the windmill.

Before you enter the building from the left side, go to the right and look underneath the staircase. You will find some money and a Comic Book.

Then go inside the building, take the ladder up, and use the jump pad to remove the bone stuck between the cogs. This will activate the windmill and restore its power.

After that, return to the windmill building and check the base. The box that had a key on it is now open, and you will be able to pick it up.
This is the Cheese Pump Key that unlocks the door from earlier, the one after the hypnotic spiral in the cave.
Head Back To The Cave

To make your way back to the cave, you need to take a different path. Near the church to the south, the big gate will open once you approach it, but it will bring enemies your way.
Defeat the enemies there and go through the same building that had the hole leading to the cave to the west.

After you reach the locked door, use the key to unlock it and activate the switch. This will lower the water level in the cave, allowing you to reach the underground area.
Explore The Lower Caves

Drop down into the lower cave and circle back east to find a safe that you can tailpick to get some money. Continue deeper into the cave, and you will find your second wedding ring.

This will bring out the ghost of the second wife, who has been tied up and thrown down the well. The caretaker would definitely regret his decision.
After you finish your conversation with her, a new path will open, and you will see another hypnotic spiral that you can go through. This will take you directly to the location of the third ring.

Approach the ring and interact with it, and the ghost of the third ex-wife will appear. She will be very angry at her husband, the caretaker, thinking it was you.

Jack needs to knock some sense into her and bring her back to her senses.
Shed Some Light On This Situationship

This will trigger a boss fight against the third ex-wife, and since she is a ghost, you cannot use bullets against her. She will spawn skeleton enemies to attack you.

The only way to damage her is by using your flashlight and pointing it in her direction. She will constantly move around, so you need to keep up with her.

At times, the ghost wife will create a shield around herself that blocks the light. To break it, you need to use your weapons, then use the flashlight to damage her. That is essentially the whole fight.

Once you deplete her health, she will return to her senses and realize you are not her husband. Jack suggests that she can still release all that anger, just in the right direction this time.
Return To The Caretaker

Use the hypnotic spiral to head back to the village, then make your way to the gate. There, you will see that all three wives make the old man disappear and take their revenge successfully.
With the grumpy man gone, you can finally go inside the house and investigate for clues.
Investigate The Mansion

Reach the mansion door and use the intercom to speak to the child inside. Jack pretends he is the caretaker and asks her to open the door.
Inside, there are a few clues that you need to interact with.
- The first clue is sitting on the small table to your right when you enter the mansion.
- The second clue is on the north side of the mansion, sitting above the fireplace.
- The third clue is on the upper floor of the room, sitting on the desk in the corner.

There is also a secret on the upper floor of the mansion. You will find a locked door there, so tailpick it, and inside you will find a safe that contains a schematic.

After you collect all the clues available, the south entrance will be unlocked, and you will be able to climb the stairs and reach the attic. To your surprise, you will find a small mouse, this is Millie, Curd’s daughter.

A cutscene will play as a phone starts ringing, and Jack will pick it up. The caller is Vivian, using a voice changer to deliver a strange line.

As soon as she finishes, the operator announces that Miles Curd is dead at the Secret Show. Jack takes the little mouse with him back to town, but Vivian has a lot of explaining to do.
Pin Your Curdsville Clues

After you return to town, head to your office, hoping to find Vivian. As expected, she is nowhere to be found, which raises even more suspicion.
Anyway, you need to pin your Curdsville clues on your crime wall, but you already know where to go next, the Secret Show, to investigate the strange timing of Curd’s death.
