Nine Sols Walkthrough – Path to Goumang

Welcome to Into Indie Games’ walkthrough for Nine Sols. In this part we cover the quickest path to getting the Sol Seal from Goumang.

Head to the left after landing in the lower region, the Yinglong Canal. Kill the enemies here, taking care not to fall in the Yellow Water below. Keep going till you reach the three waterfalls that keep stopping and starting and get across.

Get through the next set of ropes and climb up through the jagged cave and grapple jump up. Go across and drop down to absorb the Tao Fruit. Examine the disc next to it for Dusk Guardian Recording Device 2. Charge strike your way through – and examine the panel for the Water Synthesis Pipeline Panel. Hack the next terminal to drop a climbing rope and take out the heavy enemy that spawns the exploding frogs.

Climb up to the next platform to get a bunch of Jin and then drop back down. Keep going to the left till you exit this area. In the next area you will meet Shennong. He will ask to be fed something poisonous. Save at the Root Node above and pick up the chest from the top left corner of the room. Jump across and kill the enemies. Keep going to the right and grapple jump up on top and kill the dragon worms and flies. Go around this area and kill everything till you reach the top.

Remember to pick up the Data Farmland Markings at the bottom right corner. Once the area is cleared head up through the narrow tunnel covered with explosive goo. Hit the spinning wheel switch to move the platform closer to the far right wall, so you can wall jump on top of it.

A heavy hitter is waiting on the other side, keep to his back and keep your parry timing on point. Pick up the chest to loot an Advanced Component. Keep going you can find a Cultivation Jade in the chest on the left. Climb the long rope in the middle of the room and charge strike the stone barrier and clear the exit path. This connects back to the Lake.

Run back to the bottom and head left from where Shennong is lying down. There is a big locked door here – the switch is on top. Go up and around till you reach this location on the map.

Keep going left, clearing the enemies. Move around the area and towards the right you will find the switch needed to unlock the big door below.

Now keep moving to the left and upwards and in a cove you will find the Golden Yinglong Egg.

Go back to Shennong to give him the Egg and have a drink with him. Shennong will move to the Pavillion and will provide brews in exchange for poison items. Head back towards where we found the egg and exit the area through the door at the bottom.

Keep heading left and kill the enemies on your way, including a pretty tough Samurai enemy. You can pick up the Tiandao Academy Periodical artifact here, which is a gift for ShuanShuan. Enemies get tougher here so head back to the right till you reach the Dragon Boat. There is a channel you can fly your nymph up to activate the boat nearby.

Go up and around the climbable wall here and grapple to the other side, open the chest for a Herb Catalyst. Go back down and head to the boat. Ring the bell and hop on. You will be ambushed by a number of enemies on this ride, so take care of them. Jump off and up on the platform here to take care of a few enemies that are high up and avoid the water damage.

Do the same at the next platform. Ruyi will call you and inform you of the damage to this sector. Get off the boat and take the elevator up. Save at the root node and prepare for a boss fight.

Boss : Goumang

The smaller soldier will shoot a projectile at you, while the larger one will jump and slam down. The shot can be parried but the slam cannot be, so dodge them both for efficiency.
The smaller one will do a 3 hit combo as well while the larger one charges you with a 2 hit top to bottom combo. They go down pretty fast and when they do Goumang enter the fight.
Goumang uses her bell to heal the soldiers up, so whale on her while she is doing that.

Tip: Use the space to your advantage. Move the smaller one to the side as it is faster and take it out first.

Kill the soldiers 3 times and the fight ends. After the cutscene ends, check the chest for Jin and Ready-to-eat-Rations, another gift for ShuanShuan. Check the terminal after to walk through Goumang’s memories and get her Sol Seal. Exit the room through the door on the left.
