Nine Sols Walkthrough – The Path to Kuafu

Welcome to Into Indie Games’ walkthrough for Nine Sols. In this part we cover the quickest path to getting the First Sol Seal from Kuafu and defeating General Yingzhao

From the Root node move to the left and use your grapple hook to get up higher. Take out the heavy enemy here, and move to the right. Drop down and take out the enemies here and keep moving. Wall jump up and tai chi kick to the upper platform. The enemies here have shields so be wary. Hack the terminal to open the door.

Before going that way, go back to where you climbed up on this platform and use your Nymph to drop a chain down to climb up to a platform and pick up Jins and a Standard Component.

Now go back to the door you opened earlier and rush to the statue on the other side. Take out its weapon and then hack it. Take the Jins and drop down the chain. Hack this door now and then move to the left over the wire.

Celestial Sentinel : Jiaoduan

Grapple jump up and drop down to take the enemy out and move to the left. Hack the next terminal and then hit the spinning switch at the end to lower an elevator and go up. Pick up the loot on top, then take the elevator you activated a second ago by hacking. Kill the rushing dog and then hack the other door on the right. Then drop down the middle. At the bottom is a bunch of lasers and heavy enemies. Use your nymph to get through.

On the other end you will fight your first Celestial Sentinel, Jiaoduan.

He does a thrust attack which can be parried.
He steps back, charges up and dashes with his spear.

Tip: You can kite him to the lasers you crossed earlier and just one-shot him. He drops a Computing Unit.

Keep heading right and hack the next terminal. Take the moving platform up to save at the Root Node on top. Head to the left and take the transporter.

While on it a call will come in from Heng, your sister. Watch the cutscene unfold. Get off the transporter and head left. Get down the chain and break the wall here for a secret room.

Tai Chi kick your way across and hack the door. A new type of heavy enemy is on the other side, dodge to his sides and take him out. Climb up the chain and take out the enemies on top and open the chest for more Jin. Jump on the platform and hack it and then climb up the chain in the middle. Take out the enemies on top and hack the terminal on the right to drop a chain down.

Climb up and move to the left. Take the statue out and then hack it. It will unlock a chest. Go down to it and pick up the loot. Jump up and take the enemies out and grab the chest. Drop down the chain and take out the enemy with the shield and hack the large chest for a Steely Jade.

The path to the Radiant Pagoda

Hack the next door and head through. Drop down the chain and head to the Light Bridge and talk to the Shanhai 9000 here.

You learn that your goal is at the Radiant Pagoda and for that you have to power the Light Bridge behind you. Run to the left past the columns and jump down. Kill the enemies here and then hack the door to go talk to the Chiyou. He is a merchant that sells Jades. You will probably want to buy the computing unit. Save at the Root Node next to Chiyou. Head to the right and down the stairs and enter the room with the large door.

Complete the hacking mini game at the console in the middle of the room to power everything around you as well as the Light Bridge. Exit the room and go back up after clearing the gauntlet. Activate the bridge and enter the Radiant Pagoda. Once inside pick up the Radiant Pagoda Control Data and save at the Root Node. Head to the right to fight the boss General Yingzhao.

General: Yingzhao

He changes sides while swiping downwards. Parry these attacks as they will damn near one shot you.
He does a charge attack, an over-head swing and upward thrust combo. Parry these too.

Tip: He isn’t that difficult in this Phase. Just watch his timing and telegraph. Parry timing is the most important thing in this fight.
