Nivalis Nights – Walkthrough Part 1: Setting Up The Noodle Bar

Nivalis Nights Walkthrough

Nivalis Nights is a cozy life simulator game where you walk through the streets of a cyberpunk city, opening restaurants, nightclubs, and apartments as you grow your presence in this city of lights. You’ll have to expand your business and interact with other NPCs to make new friends or enemies.

Arrival In Meridian Market

As the game begins, you’ll wake up in an apartment in Lowtown. Ava will tell you that she was previously Mr Thaddeus’ companion, but now she’s here to assist you.

You’ll first have to exit the apartment. Go downstairs and follow the quest marker. You’ll reach a cab here. The cab will take you to the Meridian Market.

After arriving in the market area, you’ll have to look for Thaddeus Carminus. The quest marker at the top of the screen shows his location.

As you talk to Thaddeus Carminus, he’ll tell you that you now own the Noodle Bar behind him. He’ll tell you that it belongs to you now, and you should ask Baron for further help. Thaddeus will take his leave now.

Setting Up The Noodle Bar

Now that you’re the proud owner of the Noodle Bar, you’ll have to set it up for business. Ava will tell you some initial details. First, you have to place some tables and a few chairs beside them.

The furniture has been added to your inventory. Place the tables first, and then you can place two chairs beside each table.

Next, you have to put a dish on the menu. For starters, you can only place one meal. Interact with the electronic panel next to the counter. You’ll be managing your entire restaurant from this panel.

Open it and select the Chicken Noodle Soup to add to the menu. After that, you’ll have to stock the ingredients for the dishes on the menu.

Stocking Ingredients

Before you can stock the ingredients, you’ll have to talk to Baron, the chef. He’s inside the Noodle Bar. He’ll tell you that the shop is open right away.

Now, head to the market. The quest marker will lead you to the area with plenty of vendors. You have to memorize the route because you’ll be heading there often from now on.

There are multiple vendors here, each one specializing in different types of products. There are some hints in their names. Luckily, you don’t have to browse through the hundreds of products each vendor has to offer.

Approach a vendor and open their shop menu. Go to the shopping list and select the ingredient that you want to purchase. If the shop has that ingredient, you’ll be able to select it from there and purchase it accordingly.

Do it with several vendors until you have everything that you need. Once you’ve purchased all of the required ingredients, return to the Noodle Bar.

Interact with the refrigerator inside the bar. Use it to stock all of the items. Keep in mind that certain ingredients, such as chicken meat, must be kept in a refrigerator. The ingredients decay after some time, so don’t purchase a lot more than you need.

Gathering More Recipes And Introducing Yourself

Talk to Baron after restocking ingredients. He’ll ask you to gather more recipes. You have to go to your competitors and ask them for the recipe. Plain and simple!

There are three restaurant owners that you’ll have to talk to. There’s Marius Mitchel. Marius’s shop is quite close to the Noodle Bar. Go and talk to him.

Personally, I lied to Marius that I was just a home chef, and he ended up giving me the recipe. You’ll still have to talk to Nola Berg and Dagmar Fitz. The quest marker will lead you to both of them.

Dagmar Fitz was quite rude and didn’t give out any recipes. You can get Beer’s recipe from Nola Berg.

Hiring A Waiter

After getting the Beer recipe from Nola Berg, you’ll have to return to Banor. He’ll ask you to hire a waiter because he can’t do everything by himself.

You can hire workers by interacting with hiring boards. There’s one near the Noodle Bar. Each worker has a different set of skills. Early on, when you don’t have enough workers, a waiter will be filling in for a cleaner or a chef, and vice versa.

Once you’ve hired a worker, you’ll have to adjust their shift. The workers take their pay daily. Longer shifts contribute to lower worker satisfaction.

If you’re making a worker work longer shifts, you’ll have to pay them better to balance out worker satisfaction, but you can pay them less too. After hiring your new waiter, you’ll have to increase their shift to match the venue’s working hours so they don’t leave early.

Setting Up The Bar

It’s a Noodle Bar, and you’re selling Noodles only so far. Talk to Banor, and he’ll ask you to get bar stools. There’s a furniture shop in the market. You can purchase at least three bar stools from there.

Bring the stools back and place them near the bar counter. You should also remember the path to the furniture shop because you can purchase all sorts of upgrades and decorations here.

Talk to Banor again. He’ll ask you to get a Drink Machine next. You’ll have to return to the furniture shop. There’s another vendor in the shop, towards the back. You can buy the Drink Machine from them.

Place the Drink Machine on the Noodle Bar’s counter. You can then add a drink to the menu.

For the Beer recipe, you’ll need wheat. Head to the market area and you’ll find some vendors selling wheat. Buy some and return to your shop.

Restock the items in the Noodle Bar. You’ll have a working bar now.

Curfew

Once the clock hits 00:00, the Noodle Bar will automatically close for the day. You have around two in-game hours to move around and return to an apartment. Note that you’ll have to pay a small share of Thaddeus’ debt from your daily profit at the end of each day.

The curfew hits at 02:00. If you’re still out, you can get caught by security drones, and it has some negative consequences.

However, it’s not entirely prohibited to explore at night. Some vendors and NPCs only show up at night, sneaking around. You can explore that as well as you play the game.

It’s best to find an apartment to rest. Don’t forget that you can fast travel immediately to Lowtown and head to your apartment to sleep.
