No Rest For The Wicked – Servant Of God Walkthrough

No Rest for the Wicked

After Cerim made it to Sacrament and witnessed the arrival of Madrigal Seline and the Inquisition, you are left to explore the city and its inhabitants at your own pace.

For your next main task in No Rest for the Wicked, you need to head to the entrance of the marketplace, where you should find a few members of the Inquisition wanting to speak with you.

They are asking you to make your way through the Nameless Pass and seek an audience with Madrigal herself. This is where your next journey begins.

The Nameless Pass

The Nameless Pass is a new region located northeast of Sacrament, and you need to make your way there. The gate will now be open, allowing you to start your journey.

First things first, make sure you interact with the Whisper at the start of the Nameless Pass to set your checkpoint there. There is also a fire pit just south of it if you need to cook some meals before starting.

No Rest for the Wicked

From here, the path east will lead you to some trails, but before you go there, drop down and swim toward the east until you see a broken wooden door. Attack it to break it and be prepared to defeat a few enemies inside.

Once you deal with them, there will be a bunch of wooden boxes that you can roll or attack to get some loot.

Exploration

No Rest for the Wicked

Now exit this room, and just on the opposite side, you will find a small farm filled with a variety of ingredients that you can harvest. However, be careful, as an enemy will emerge from the ground as soon as you approach.

Defeat them and loot all the harvest there for ingredients. Now that you are done with this area, take the wooden stairs to get back on the rails passage.

No Rest for the Wicked

Backtrack a bit, and you should see a ladder that will take you up. At the top, you will see a hole in the roof of the house to your right, so jump through it. Inside, you will find an altar with loot on it.

You can use the house door to exit back to the trail passage, where you will come across another ladder. If you go up, you should see a character that you can talk to.

There is one more thing that you can do here before moving forward toward the main path. You will see some loot on top of one of the blocks, but you won’t be able to reach it.

No Rest for the Wicked

You need to use the wooden crane and move it between you and the loot so you will be able to make the jump.

Ashen Road

No Rest for the Wicked

With the exploration part done, make your way back to the trail passage and go to the wooden structure where the locked door is. Jump to the other side and climb up.

Here you will find two paths. First, take the bridge to the left and follow the road to unlock a ladder shortcut, making it easier for you to access this section in case you die.

No Rest for the Wicked

After that, you can go back and keep making your way up. Use the vines to reach the other side, and then there will be a tree branch that you can use to climb further up.

From here, all you need to do is keep climbing until you reach a wooden elevator that will take you down to what seems to be a quarry.

No Rest for the Wicked

Step inside and go down. In front of you, you will see a Whisper, so interact with it to set this one as your new checkpoint.

Unlock Shortcuts

Before you progress and explore the quarry, head toward the elevator and follow the trail passage. Here you will be able to unlock the gate to activate a shortcut between the Ashen Road and the Quarry.

There is another shortcut you can activate. Track back a bit, and you should see a similar wooden crane from earlier that you can rotate in order to reach the vines on the other side.

Do that and climb all the way to the top. From here, head down and take the ladder. There will be a chest you can open here, so do so.

Keep following the path until you reach another gate that you can unlock, similar to the first one. This will connect to the first gate you passed when you started the Nameless Pass region.

No Rest for the Wicked

There is one more shortcut you can activate before progressing toward the quarry. From the level where you unlocked the gate, there is a path to the left. Follow it and cross the wooden bridge.

Drop down one level, and you will be able to kick the bridge down to create the third and final shortcut that takes you back to the Ashen Road Whisper.

Now you can explore the surrounding area, and just when you think you are done, there is one location to the very west to explore.

Explore The Cave

No Rest for the Wicked

Here, you will find a Whisper next to a big door that is shut. We still don’t know if this door is accessible or if it will be opened as part of a future update, but you can head north and explore a small cave.

This cave is pretty small, and it is filled with wolves. It can be confusing since it is really dark here, so if you have a torch, equip it, or use the Illuminate spell to be able to see your surroundings.

No Rest for the Wicked

Go inside and drop down, kill the wolves, and go through the small hole in the wall. There will be a digging site where you can gather materials and ingredients.

Making a full turn will take you back to the center. From here, you can climb up using the vines ahead.

No Rest for the Wicked

The upper level is filled with dig sites and ingredients to collect, and of course, wolves, so make sure you kill all enemies before starting to gather.

After you finish exploring the upper level, head back down to the center. There will be a secret passage to the southwest. Use this to return to the entrance of the cave and exit.

The Quarry

No Rest for the Wicked

Now that all shortcuts are unlocked and the surrounding area explored, head back to the Quarry and get ready to explore it and progress forward.

Just nearby, you will find a prisoner locked in a cell. Approach him and talk to him. He will tell you the story of how Madrigal came through and burned everything in their path, but two, the Riven Twins, escaped.

No Rest for the Wicked

This man might sound mad, but you should definitely be on guard and keep searching for Madrigal. Moving along, follow the trail north, and eventually you will find a wooden crane.

This one is not as simple as the first two you’ve encountered, as you need more than just moving it to make it to the other side.

Wooden Crane Puzzle

No Rest for the Wicked

First, move the platform southeast, five o’clock, to reach the platform to the south. Once you get there, drop down the ladder, as you will need it later.

No Rest for the Wicked

Now you will find another wooden crane. This one you need to rotate northwest, eleven o’clock. Next, head back to the first wooden crane and move it ten o’clock so you can progress to the northern entrance.

This is where the ladder will come in handy. After you rotate the first crane for the second time, use the ladder to make your way back to the second crane, then jump and continue north.

Go inside, and you will find a Whisper that you can activate. Before heading back up and progressing north, make sure to open the door south of the Whisper so you can use it as a shortcut.

The Quarry Dungeon

No Rest for the Wicked

From the Whisper, climb back up and move to the right until you see a lever. Interacting with it will unlock the gate just below. Drop down, go through it, and progress forward until you reach an area that looks like a prison.

In the middle of this prison, you will find a rotating pillar that you can use to open three different cells ahead. Rotate the pillar until you open the first door to the right, go inside, and pick up the loot there.

No Rest for the Wicked

From here, climb back up and make your way south until you reach a ladder that you can kick down as a shortcut, with a chest to loot nearby.

Head back to the rotating pillar and rotate it until you open the door in the middle. This will unleash a monster that will attack you immediately, so be prepared to fight it.

Keep moving the rotating pillar until you open the third door. This is filled with enemies, so progress cautiously and try to lure and kill them one by one.

After you defeat the enemies, you will hear a man’s voice talking to you. Climb up to the catwalk, and you will see the prisoner trapped inside a cell.

He will ask you to set him free, but the door is locked, and you need to find a key for him. We’ll get it later.

Obtain The Cell Key

Now, keep using the catwalk to progress west, carefully jumping so you don’t fall. Climb up to the other side to the north, and you will find two paths.

The main path is on the left, so naturally, we will go right. At the end of the right path, you’ll come across a ladder that takes you deeper into the prison. That’s not all; there will be tough enemies here, so prepare yourself.

If you don’t want to risk it, you can skip it, but it’s definitely recommended to defeat them for extra loot, plus there are two rare chests down that you can collect.

Now, moving back to the main path on the left, climb up the ladder and use the wooden bridge to go south. Take the next ladder down, and if you go to the left, you can kick the bridge down to unlock the shortcut from the Whisper inside the dungeon.

The key to unlock the prisoner’s cell is located on the upper level, but you need to make some risky jumps to reach it. It’s worth it.

From the ladder, go north and then left. You will spot some hanging cages, these are the risky jumps you need to make. The best advice here is to release the sprint button after you jump so you don’t overdo it.

No Rest for the Wicked

This is why you unlocked the shortcut earlier, so even if you fall and die, it will be easier to come back and try again.

After you make it to the other side, climb up and use the wooden bridge to reach the loot ahead. Pick it up, and you will get the key that unlocks the prisoner’s cell.

Save The Prisoner

No Rest for the Wicked

Now simply head back to the prisoner cell and use the key to unlock the door. Speak to him, and you will learn about Finley. He will thank you for your help and will make his way back to Sacrament.

Finley will be a new merchant you can shop from, but he is only available from 8pm to midnight (real-life time) every day. He can be found on the upper level of Beggar Alley, just northeast of Danos.

Now head back to the ladder and climb it up. To the north, you should see some vines you can climb to reach the top.

Mountain Passage

At the top, progress ahead until you reach the Whisper here and activate it. Go down the stairs, and you will see a gate on fire with many guards, alongside Madrigal and the Inquisition waiting for you.

Approach the center, and a short cutscene will show Seline speaking to Ellsworth about the gate on the mountains as they hope to unlock it.

After the cutscene, speak to Seline, and she will tell you how she knows about your kind, the Cerim, and mention that at the base of the gate they need to unlock, there is an inscription that mentions a chamber west of here that supposedly has a way to unlock it.

Seline believes this is your goal, and you are the only one who can understand and interact with it.

You have your direction, so you need to make your way back to the entrance. Now the passage to the left is unlocked. Go all the way up until you reach a Whisper there. Make sure you activate this one before progressing inside.

Cerim Chamber

There will be a door you can climb up, but the path will be blocked. This is why you need to backtrack and take the narrow path east here.

Kick down the stone pillar and cross to the other side. Follow this path until you reach a pool of water. From here, you can jump down. Don’t worry, you won’t die, it’s just water.

At the bottom, you will have a few enemies to kill and some loot to grab, so make sure you do all of that. After you complete this, head east and follow the path that will take you up.

Climb up the vines here, and then the stairs ahead, basically making your way up until you reach a fire pit. We recommend that you cook any meals you need here before moving forward because you will need them.

Up ahead, you will be able to kick down the stone pillar to activate the shortcut to the Whisper, and then the main path leads toward the entrance up ahead.

As soon as you go inside, a cutscene will play with a strange voice speaking some odd sentences. Brace yourself, Cerim, this is a boss fight that you should win.

The Riven Twins Boss Fight

The Riven Twins use a large pole to attack and cover a wide angle of the arena where you fight, so most of the time, creating distance might not work best for you, and you need to focus on your dodge or parry skills.

Many of their attacks use the pole in sweeps, three slams, and stabs. Given the pole’s extended reach, this takes up a lot of space, so you always need to be aware of how much area their attacks cover and act accordingly.

Dodging toward the twins while attacking is a good option, as you can perform a counterattack. Keep in mind that if you get too close, the twins might use a stab or slam attack into the ground, which will push you away.

That’s not all their attacks, as they can also use pestilence against you. Every now and then, they will throw balls of pestilence at you, causing plague build-up, so you don’t want to get hit by multiple of these.

Stamina management and patience, yet again, become key to this boss fight, as you don’t want to get greedy by landing too many hits and then find yourself with no stamina to dodge their next attack.

The Riven Twins are usually slow to attack, and you can easily predict their pattern. However, the problem is how much damage they can deal if you’re not careful or underleveled.

Defeat The Riven Twins

This boss fight might feel a bit difficult, and if it does, just know that chances are you are underleveled and might need better gear or to upgrade your current one.

Use any meals that grant bonus stats, like increased attack or defense, to your advantage as well.

After you manage to defeat the Riven Twins, you will be able to grab the loot from them, which includes at least one unique weapon and one random drop.

Rejected By The God

With the path clear, you can make your way to the tablet and interact with it. This will put the Cerim on his knees, and the gate will start to shake. As the cutscene shows the gate, the flame there is fading, and it does not open.

To her disappointment, Madrigal Seline will be waiting for you just outside to share her disappointment with you and somewhat put you down, even though you went through all this trouble to help her.

After the brief conversation between the two of you, the quest Servant of God will be completed. From here, you can go back to Sacrament by fast traveling using the Whisper and reach the marketplace area.

You will find Ellsworth giving a speech to his people, talking about the plague and the struggles it brought, hoping to uplift their spirits in these dark, dark times.
