Nocturne Walkthrough – Chapter 2

Welcome to our Walkthrough for Nocturne (2026).

Chapter 2: City of the Dead takes Karma into the desert and eventually to the city of Yama, where he meets new characters and learns more about the world and its mysterious crystals. Along the way, you’ll explore new areas, clear corruption, collect useful items, and meet Asayla, who joins you on your journey. Things quickly become more dangerous when the city comes under attack, leading to several fights and a boss battle against Glaucus. This walkthrough covers the main path through the chapter, important items, key encounters, and everything you need to reach the end of Chapter 2.

Meet Sue and Return to the Surface

Once you wake up, go up the river and up over the tree root to talk to the woman. Her name is Sue and shee fills you with a bit more backstory. She will then send you back to your body. Go up the elevator and once you are out head right and up the stairs. Climb the ladder and exit the area. Save at the next point and go right. You will find a chest with Functional Capacitor.

Repair the Gondola

Head north and you will fight a Lizard on the left. On the left of the save point is the Gondola. Remove the corruption on it.

Cross the Desert

Get on the Gondola to go back to Satoru. Speak to him once you get there. You can choose to tell Satoru what happened or keep things vague. I chose to tell him. After the conversation get back on the Gondola. Go around the containers and head north to the next area. In this desert area, you will fight a Snake first. Follow the path and you will see a chest on the other side. Go around then ambush the Antlion. Head north and exit the area. In the next area, head to the right and you will find another Antlion. If you head into the arches and pillars up north you will fight a Lizard. Beyond it is a chest with a Functional Capacitor.

Follow the path leading south now. There is another lizard here, behind the cactus. To the left is another chest with a Prismatic Amulet. Go back up and to the previous area and head north. Once you see the plank on the left, cross over it. Follow the path to exit this area. Save in the next area and soon you will see a whirlpool of corruption. Fix the corruption here.

Or atleast try to. Head back down and to the left to exit the area. In the next area, fight the Antlion under the bridge. You will see a chest overhead as well. Follow the path down and around towards the bridge. Fight the lizard here and pick up the chest, it contains a Leaky Battery.

Meet Bert and Martha

Cross the bridge and head north into the new area. Save in this area and go left. Check the crystal structure here. An old man will come talk to you, watch the cutscene unfold. Bert and Martha will speak to you about the crystals with you. They will give you a Black Tea. Head out and check the top right corner of the garden for a chest with Trail Mix inside.

Reach Yama

Leave the homestead and head north again to exit this area. Keep going up and you will fight an Antlion and a Snake. Near the bridge on the right you can find another chest with a Rusty Pipe inside. There is a corrupted ladder up north. Fix it up and head north. On the right you can find a Functional Capacitor.

Head down and to the left. Fight the Lizard and follow the path up by turning back. Exit this area through the northern path. In the next area, you will get caught in a sandstorm, but you will have reached Yama. You will also meet Asayla now, who will tag along with you. Speak to Nasser to shop. Walk around the market and Asayla will show you around. Speak to Patricia as well. Bombus next. Be wary that you can only sell Capacitors, most of your inventory cannot be sold. Go up the stairs and check the statue of Ellen out. Move up the stairs and you will find the Arcade, where you can replay any fight that you have unlocked in your travels.

The Transcendence

Asayla will tell you the Transcendence is happening today. Follow her up to the town square. You will speak to Renzo now. He is Asayla’s father and he will be allowed to live in the castle now. You will have control back now so head back down and look around the city. Once you find Asayla’s shop go inside.

Crawler Attack

She sells equipment and weapons. Kimothy will rush into the store and a crawler attack will start. Go back out and to the right. Go up the stairs over the railway track and you will get into a fight with a Firefly and a Mantis. Someone will join the fight with you and you will get an extra bar to contend with.

Once the fight is over, they will join you. Go down and save the people being crystalized. Another fight here. Go north and into the next area. You will now learn the person with you is Ellen, the mayor of Yama. Fight the crawlers together. Go to the left and up the stairs. Right now and down the stairs. Head north and then to the left. North again to exit. In the new area, save. Then go left. Down the stairs and past the well. Up the rubble and you will find Kimothy again. Save him. You will be beset up by Glaucus now. This is a boss fight.

Boss Fight: Glaucus

Defeat Glacaus, watch the cutscene and head to Asayla’s shop. KImothy and Karma will find a corrupted citizen but be unable to save him. Follow the path to Asayla’s shop down south, right side of the rail track. Watch the cutscene unfold inside the store. Once the conversation is over, head up the stairs at the back and go down and through the door at the bottom.

On the balcony outside, you will find a chest with a Gnarled Root inside. Go into Kimothy’s room and then down to the bed and get some sleep. Next morning, look for Kimothy before going to the memorial. Go downstairs and speak to Asayla. Head out and head to the town square up north of the city. Before going there you can find Krystal on the opposite side of the rail tracks, she has some rare loot. You can also roam the city and speak to the various NPCs but its not functional, only flavour.

Otherwise, head to the memorial and watch the cutscene. Go up past the stage and up the stairs. You will pass through the gates after a short cutscene. Timothy will run off. Keep going up into the castle courtyard. Meet all the NPCs here. To the left and up are the Vaults which you can’t enter right now. Go up through the right side and columns to meet Ellen. Watch the cutscenes play out. Ellen will ask you to go to Hoshii forest to get Kai’s research.

Head out of the castle. Go south and down the stairs back into Yama. On your way out you can meet Renzo. After the conversation with him and the guards at the entrance, head back to Asayla’s store. Kimothy will talk to you and be upset once you do not want to take him along to fight Kai. Speak to Asayla and then Kimothy upstairs. Once you are done speaking to him, head back out. Resupply at the market as well as with Asayla. You will meet Satoru at the bottom of the stairs in the market. Head out of the city once you are done. Head south in the desert. Soon you will reach a corrupted well, clean it up and then fight the Snake. Now, go left past the wagon into the earlier area with the giant corruption. Head south from there to the old couple’s house. Bert will speak to you and Martha will come out to speak to you as well. From this house, follow the road to the south over the bridge. Fight the snake on the bridge. Then go left to find the entrance to the forest.
