Norse: Oath of Blood is a tactical turn-based RPG developed by Arctic Hazard and published by Tripwire Interactive. This game is not like your normal turn-based games. It is a tactical turn-based experience where you have to use your mind and take advantage of everything around you. For more information, head over to its Steam page.
Now that you have completed the first three chapters, you will unlock the map. After that, you will need to build a settlement. You will receive several projects to complete. In this guide, I will provide you with a complete walkthrough explaining how to finish all of the new projects, along with the missions Little Magpie and Ullr’s Arrow, in Norse: Oath of Blood.
Disclaimer
Norse: Oath of the Blood is a tactical turn-based RPG game. So my Little Magpie and Ullr’s Arrow missions are based on how I proceeded with the game and the tactics that I found to be the best. In your case, the enemy may act completely differently, and you may not face the same formation attacks. That is completely normal, as our tactics may not align with each other.

Building A Settlement – Makeshift Camp

As you finish the third mission, Settling In, you will receive a new project to work on. That project is Makeshift Camp, where you begin building your settlement. The first thing you will need to do is construct tents and shelters. You must build four of them.
You should already have enough materials to craft them, since the Jarl provided you with a parting gift. Click on Wood, Leather, Wadmal, and Oil, then confirm the turn. This will begin the Makeshift Camp project. After that, go to the menu bar, click Home, and then advance to the next step. With that, the framework will also be completed, allowing you to move on to the next steps.
With these steps completed, the Makeshift Camp project will be finished.
Unlock New Abilities

After completing the project, go to the menu bar and click on Hirdmen to unlock new abilities for your characters. For Gunnar, I chose the Leader ability. Regarding Sigrid, I selected Sharp Eyed, specifically Mighty Shot. For Arn, the Veteran ability Iron Will made the most sense to me, so I chose that option.
For Asmarr, I selected the Warrior ability Ram, since the other option was similar to Arn. As for Buldi, I chose the Wolf skill called Wolf Fang. The remaining characters will not have unlocked their next abilities yet. After you are done unlocking abilities, head to the Seamstress tab and craft clothes for the other characters.
Completing More Projects

When you go to the Project tab, you will notice several additional projects that need to be completed. These include Western Reach, Master Loomhall, Large Room, and Drop Spindles. You will not be able to complete all of them immediately because your resources are limited.
Focus on completing the ones that are currently possible. Most likely, you will only be able to fully start Drop Spindles. The Seamstress brings in different materials over time, so you do not need to worry too much about shortages. In the Large Room project, select the resources you currently have. After a short while, you should obtain five fibers, so select those as well and begin the project.
For Western Reach, you will most likely be missing Oil and Fiber. Select Wood and Bog Iron for now and wait until the remaining materials become available. Then click on Next Turn, and you will see a pop-up titled The Struggling Stranger. Shortly after, the longhouse construction will be completed, and you will receive a task to train with Sigrid.
This will trigger a cutscene, so you will not need to take any action. After the scene ends, a story mission will begin. Head to the map, select the Little Magpie story mission, and click Prepare to start the mission.
Little Magpie Quest Walkthrough

As you click Prepare, you can depart for the mission, but there are a couple of things you can do beforehand. You can change the equipment of your characters and even adjust the party. If you do not like a particular character, you can remove them from the party and choose another one.
Once your party is fully set up, depart for the mission, and the Little Magpie quest in Norse: Oath of Blood will begin.
Investigate The Trail

The first objective in this mission is to investigate the trail. There will be some berries nearby, but all of your characters are likely at full health, so ignore those for now and move forward to collect some provisions. Just ahead, there will be an open chest containing five Hacksilver.
Loot the chest and continue along the path. There will be more chests and provisions along the way, so make sure to collect everything. After looting the third open chest, pick up the nearby provisions. Then head left, where you will find a runestone. Near the runestone, there will be a skeleton. Investigate it to obtain a Golden Eagle Feather.
After that, inspect the runestone to receive the Blessing of Loki. As soon as you gain the blessing, you will be attacked by wolves, and you will have to defeat them.
Defeat The Wolves To Be On Your Way

The normal wolves have only three health, so this battle will not be very difficult. However, there will also be an Alpha Wolf with 12 health. Even so, the fight is manageable. Take care of the wolves closest to you using normal attacks.
If you have enough points remaining, I recommend using Alert so that your character automatically strikes any wolf that approaches. You should also attempt to cripple the Alpha Wolf using Sigrid’s ability. Although the attack can miss, it is a risk worth taking. I also recommend focusing the Alpha Wolf with Arn and Buldi, as they deal serious damage.
Once you win the battle, continue investigating the trail.
Continue Investigating The Trail

After defeating the wolves, your characters may have taken some damage. Use the berries to heal them if necessary and proceed along the path. Shortly ahead, you will discover the source of the commotion. You will then need to protect a trader from brutes who are about to attack her.
Protect The Trader From The Attackers

Pay close attention to the battlefield, as there are several enemies. Two of their archers are positioned on high ground, giving them an advantage. Place Gunnar and Arn on the right side in front of two enemies. Position Sigrid behind them, and arrange the remaining characters as needed.
Keep at least a couple of characters on the left side to handle the enemies there. As the battle begins, I recommend moving Sigrid to the high ground on the right side. If you are fortunate, one of the enemies may fall quickly, allowing you to secure the high ground advantage. Focus your attacks on the enemies directly in front of Gunnar and Arn.

The leader has relatively low health, so target him first. However, he has three armor, so you will not deal maximum damage immediately. After Gunnar’s turn ends, the enemy will respond. Once that happens, use Arn’s normal attack on the leader. Then, with Asmarr, perform a normal attack on the enemy, and the leader will take his turn.
Next, use Buldi to attack the enemy on the left side. After that, the enemy next to the leader will act, and more outcasts will enter the battle from the left side.
Take Care Of The Enemies
When it is your turn again, use Gunnar to attack the brute. Then have Sigrid use Mighty Shot on the same enemy, which may trigger a combo. If another brute moves closer to the trader, switch to Asmarr and use Shield Bash for a combo attack.
Note
If the trader has taken damage, I recommend healing her with a bandage. You can use bandages on other characters as well, but prioritize the trader if an enemy is close to her. Heal her, then continue focusing on the enemies.
Use Arn’s normal attack to finish off the weakened brute. After that, attack the remaining brute and defeat him as well. Move closer to the leader and use Buldi to strike the enemies arriving from the left. Then have Sigrid finish off the leader.
Afterward, eliminate the remaining scattered enemies. To reach the archer who moved farther north, I recommend using Buldi’s Leap ability to advance five tiles. Then use your remaining action points to close the distance and defeat the final enemies. Once all enemies are defeated, a cutscene will begin, completing the Little Magpie quest.
Loot The Area

You can leave the mission immediately, but before doing so, make sure to loot the area. There are useful materials to collect, so explore thoroughly. There are also berries on the left side. Have your injured characters eat them to recover health. Once you are done looting, leave the mission to receive your rewards.
After returning, begin crafting Western Reach. Then head to the Trade section and select Village Market. Clear the Land and Stands can be handled by Holti, so select both and proceed. Finally, craft the Invitations, which Geirlaug will manage.
Finish More Projects

Now, continue expanding your settlement by starting new projects. You can do this by speaking to two different people. Click on the Home tab from the menu at the top, and you will see two characters available for conversation. On the left side will be Arn, so talk to him. After speaking with him, you will unlock a new project called Dock.
The next person you can speak to is Torsten. He has a request for you, so continue the conversation, and a cutscene will begin. After that, I recommend crafting clothes for your other characters so they can perform better in battle. Once you are finished with that, go to the Projects tab and complete any projects that are currently available.
Make sure to regularly check the map for any new discoveries. After some time, you will unlock the Fishing Hut project by talking to Holti. Then, click Next Turn on the map, and you will receive a new mission called Ullr’s Arrow.
Ullr’s Arrow – Hunt The Elk

Since this quest will block your progress, you will need to start it immediately. Upon beginning the quest, your main objective will be hunting the Elk, and you will also receive a sub-objective to look for signs of the Elk. Follow the path ahead, and eventually a cutscene will begin. Make sure to open the barrel along the way to collect some loot.
During the cutscene, you will discover a runestone. Inspect it to receive the Blessing of Ullr. After that, head to the right and follow the path east. Soon, you will find old tracks, so continue forward while looting any items you see. When the road splits into left and right paths, take the left path, as that is where the Elk will be.
Note
There is a path to the left that leads to the runestone. If you take that path, you will be fighting some boars. I recommend taking this path, but keep in mind that the fight is going to be extremely challenging. As there are going to be a lot of boars, they will have far too many turns, and your characters will be low on health most of the time. So make sure to keep healing and try to take advantage of the terrain. Also, make sure there is nothing behind your characters, as the big boar will use a trample attack. This attack pushes your character back, so if there is a wall behind them, it can turn bad for your character.
As you proceed, another cutscene will trigger, and Gunnar will shoot the Elk with an arrow. However, the Elk will escape, and your objective will change to chasing it.
Chase The Elk
Move a little farther ahead, and another cutscene will begin. This time, you will not only encounter the Elk again, but you will also gain a new party member. After the scene ends, the quest objective will update to searching for signs of the Sons of the Wolf.
Look For Signs Of The Sons Of The Wolf

Now that you have recruited a new member, you will not be returning to the village. To continue with the objective, head straight, and there will be some provisions ahead. Pick them up, and as you get close to the interactable, you will see a wolf running to the side.
Then go a little ahead, and a cutscene will commence. When the cutscene ends, your objective will be updated to find the Sons of the Wolf.
Find The Sons Of The Wolf

Now, to find the Sons of the Wolf, you simply need to follow the path ahead, and you will notice their camp ahead. Once you are close enough, a cutscene will commence. After the cutscene is over, you will have to face each of the enemies in battle.
Stop The Ritual And Keep Everyone Alive

The Sons of the Wolf were performing a ritual, so you now have to stop it and keep everyone alive by defeating the enemy. You will only have three characters, so it may be a difficult fight to win. Place Gunnar at the far right and Sigrid close to him. You do not have to place the new character, Hallbjorn, on the left side, as in this game, enemies usually come where there is more action going on in most instances.
I placed the new character on the right side alongside Gunnar and Sigrid. As you are at a disadvantage here, I do not recommend moving closer to them. Instead, I recommend using an alert with your characters, so if they move closer, you have the upper hand. Also, Sigrid’s alert has a fairly wide range, so make sure to apply it properly.

Note
While that is a good strategy, it is not the ideal one. You can move close to the enemies, and that is possible by removing the alert from them. That can be done by using Sigrid’s attacks first. Use Mighty Shot, Cripple Shot, and the normal attack. I opted for this strategy, and the enemy could not even damage any of my characters. Also, Hallbjorn hits like a truck, so you can perform back-to-back executions with him.
Now, regarding Hallbjorn, move him a little ahead, but make sure not to step on the red tile. As he is using a spear, you can attack from range. So attack the enemy and then move Gunnar to the right side. This is because the enemies would be in alert stance, so going from behind or from the side is the right play here.
Defeat The Enemy In The Tactical Battle
After that, use Sigrid to cripple one enemy, which will also get him out of alert, and then hit another enemy who is on alert. If an enemy comes close to Sigrid, I recommend moving Hallbjorn back and attacking that enemy. Gunnar will not be that far away either, so you can move him back to defeat the enemies who are moving close to Sigrid. Then, when it is Sigrid’s turn, I recommend moving her away and then using any attacks.
Note
If you apply enough pressure from Hallbjorn and Gunnar, the enemies will not reach Sigrid. So, try to be more offensive and make sure to remove the alert from the enemies first..
The enemies will be targeting Sigrid more, so the ideal way to deal with them is by moving Gunnar and her both to the right. Sigrid can stay behind cover, and Gunnar can take care of the enemies on the right side. Once you have taken care of the enemies who came close, move closer to the ones who were throwing stones.
Take Care Of The Reinforcements

Once you have defeated almost everyone, another one of their allies will appear. He will have more health than everyone else and uses dual axes. So fighting him is going to be troublesome. When it is Sigrid’s turn, use Mighty Shot on this enemy and then lay low.
Once you have defeated the rest, only one enemy, the drummer, will remain. Then a cutscene will commence, and Ullr’s Arrow will be over in Norse: Oath of Blood.
