Octopath Traveler 0 Walkthrough – A Dream of Snow Chapter 2

In this part of the walkthrough for Octopath Traveler 0 we advance the storyline for the Master of Power. We also recruit Alexia and fight Jurgen and the Scarlet Wing on a mountaintop.

Before I started the next chapter, I wanted to go back to Wishvale and see if there is anything I can do to increase my Town Level. The more you put into the town early, the more rewards you reap later on. Back at Wishvale

The next requirement to get to Path of Sustainability (Lvl 2) in Wishvale is to remove the rubble and clear the land.

I cleared 14 pieces of rubble. This will trigger Chapter 2 of Kindlers of the Flame – The Young Boy Basil. You can find that walkthrough here. So in this chapter I have both Viator and Celsus in my party because I recruited them during the Kindlers of Flame Chapter 2.

Chapter 2: A Dream of Snow

Talk to Velnorte

Go to Velnorte’s house and speak to him. Accept the quest and watch the cutscene play out. Velnorte will give you a document that you need to hand over to the Knights Ardante of the Order.

Give the text to the Flatlands’ Knights Ardante

We need to go to the Garrison all the way east.

Before heading out of town if you have enough JP, learn atleast 4 skills on each party member to unlock their Support Skills.

I also switched jobs to Merchant at this point for the protagonist. From Emberglow Wilds take the path west.

Take the South East path from the North Theatropolis Plains.

Now you should be in the Theatropolis Plains. The South West path leads to Theatropolis. But we don’t need to go there now. Go to the south east to find a blue chest.

There is a red chest in the north east corner.

Another chest sits on the path to the Garrison.

Finally head north to get to the Garrison. The Garrison itself is a dungeon, so random encounters will happen. There is a chest in the middle of the area.

Towards the north of the dungeon is a miniboss – Menacing Wind Elemental.

Mini Boss: Menacing Wind Elemental

His weakness is Axe strikes and fire. Keep rotating axe strikes and keep everyone topped up with Macy. The magic attacks hit super hard. You get an Alchemy Tome from the chest for all your work.

There is a Fortifying Nut in a chest in the southern corner.

There is another chest left of the path leading north.

Go north to exit this area. Watch the cutscene.

Go to the Inn in Theatropolis in the Flatlands

Head to Theatropolis. Before you do anything head to the house on the far west.

Inside pick up the Letter Fragment.

I got lucky and invited the Bibilophile Cleric to come to Wishvale. Next I used Contend on the Acerbic Scholar to fight him. You can get decent loot off him.

Encounter with Alexia

Talk to Alexia. Entreat her for her paper. This will eventually lead to Alexia joining you. Once this is done head to the inn. There will be certain events during the night.

Report the Incident back to Velnorte

Head back to Emberglow now. Go to Velnorte’s house.

Gather information in Emberglow

Once you get to the town square, a cutscene will trigger, followed by a bunch of cutscenes.

Go to the Tavern at Emberglow

Head to the tavern now. Accept the Tavern Keeper’s request. Watch the cutscene play out.

Follow Velnorte to the mountains

Once you have control, head north from the East District. Meet up with Velnorte.

Search for Rinyuu in the mountains

First pick up the chest on the left. Now, follow the path east and then north. In the north corner you can see a miniboss.

Miniboss: Menacing Frost Bear

He is weak to almost all weapons but does tremendous physical damage. Keep rotating sword damage and axe damage to take him down. You get a Fan for taking him down.

Now cross the bridge. Save on the other side. Once you get to the clearing ahead you will see RInyuu. Watch the cutscene.

Boss: Jurgen

Jurgen is weak to Swords, Axes, Bows, Tomes and Dark magic. The adds are more difficult than the actual boss, as they are only weak to daggers, axes and tomes and they do a decent amount of physical damage. Jurgen himself does a poison slash that hurts. If you have Viator in your party, use Taunt and Nullify physical damage for 3 turns to tank the fight. Keep Macy in the back row as Healer. Velnorte’s spells are pretty helpful as well.

Once the boss is down, watch the hreat wrenching cutscene play out. The quest will now be completed.
