In this part of the walkthrough for Octopath Traveler 0 we start the quest chain for The Master of Wealth. The first of which is Chapter 1: The Covetous Witch. In this part of the walkthrough we meet up with Bargello and his crew in Valore and head to Herminia’s mansion.

So before we start The Covetous Witch, lets check if there are any quests in Emberglow. If you head to the East District, you will find this woman at the eastern end.
Talking to her will start the quest The Freezing Cold.
The Freezing Cold
Speak to the old man and his daughter. The old man wants you to find his son.
Search for the long-lost family member
Travel to Valore. Down south of the town near the trader you will find the son.
Inquire and Recruit him to talk to him.
Take the Young man back to his family
Travel back to Emberglow. Speak to the family again. Once the family is together the quest is done and you receive a Bronze Pouch for your efforts.
Head back to Valore now. Talk to the man infront of the Tavern to start the quest, The Covetous Witch.
The Covetous Witch
Search for People who oppose Herminia
Head to the main boulevard out on the west side of town. You will see Bargello and his crew plan something. You will have two options to interact with them –
Pick Ask about Herminia. A flower girl will show up and offer to sell you a flower. You can buy it but Bargello will show you the truth. Pretty soon a fight will break out. Join the fray. Once presented with the option, join their cause.
Head to Herminia’s Manse
Head south to get to the path to Herminia’s Manse. In this bit you should can find a Red Chest in the northern path leading to the mansion.
In the far north west corner you can find a mini boss, The Menacing Demon Deer.
Miniboss: Menacing Demon Deer
It’s weak to Swords, Bows and Axes and should go down pretty easily.
Once you get to the entrance of Herminia’s manse, head to the left to find a chest with a 1000 leaves.
Meet up Bargello’s gang next.
Join the Party
Enter the manse and watch the cutscenes play out.
Leave the Party
Head outside and speak to Bargello. Soon, you will have the option to go with Bargello. Take it.
Confront the man who killed the slaves
Head north up the path to fight Captain Tristan.
Boss: Captain Tristan
The adds are weak to lightning and swords.
Captain Tristan has 9 Shields and is weak to Bows, Daggers, Polearms, Fire and Dark magic.
Once he is down, watch the cutscenes.
Head to Taviani’s hideout
Head back to Valore and head to Taviani’s tavern. Watch the final cutscenes for this quest play out to end the quest.
