Welcome to part 4 of our walkthrough for OFF. On our quest to purify the world, we’ve already defeated the guardians of the three zones.
It’s time to check in on the earlier zones and see how they’ve been doing since their purification.
If you want to know more about OFF, check out the official website here.
This walkthrough contains spoilers for the Purified Zones of OFF.
Table of contents
Purified Zone 1

When you arrive at Zone 1, you’ll notice that everything has turned monochrome, similar to how Zone 3 looked near the end of the chapter. Use the Red Cube to save, then head north.

The text on the sign ahead is gone, and so is the train.

Go left and loot the chest for an Inspiration, a usable battle object that deals direct damage to a targeted enemy.

Start heading east along the train tracks.

You’ll face random encounters here, but instead of Burnt Elsens or phantoms, you’ll be up against a strange new enemy called Secretary. They hit hard and have a lot of HP, but they also drop a huge amount of XP, making them an excellent source of levels for your party.

Keep walking until you reach the Damien signboard, then go south.

You’re now in the Smoke Mine entrance, though parts of the area are flooded. Head down into the primary mine.

Keep moving until you see the Yellow Cube save point. Loot the nearby chest for a Fortune Ticket, then head east.

If you remember the layout from your first visit, make your way toward the ladder that leads down to a corridor with a locked door at the end.

Look for a lamp with two wooden beams on either side. Interact with it to reveal a hidden room on the left.

Inside, you’ll find two chests. One contains another Inspiration, and the other has three pieces of Belial’s Meat that you can loot.

With that done, continue along the main path to exit the Smoke Mines.

This brings you back to the barn section of Zone 1. The area is now filled with rock-pushing puzzles. They’re easy enough to solve, and you can retry if you mess up.

In the northern section, you’ll find two chests. The one on the left has the Purified Pillar Art, and the other contains two Jokers.

Go inside the building on the left, use the Red Cube to save and heal, then take the other exit.

Outside, you’ll find another rock-pushing puzzle. Solve it and head north.

Up ahead, you’ll see three rocks blocking a door. This is where you’ll fight the first of the new bosses in OFF, Source. Push the rocks to create a path and enter through the door.

Climb the ladders until you reach the spot shown in the image above. Interact with the moving eye and choose “Fight” to begin the encounter.

The battle against Source isn’t too tough. He mostly sticks to healing himself and can inflict poison.

After defeating Source, head back down to the building’s entrance and continue east along the train tracks.
You’ll come to another signboard marked “?????” The monorail continues east, but you’ll want to go south first.

This is the postal office area you purified earlier. Go inside the main building.

The lift no longer works, but you’ll find a chest containing two pieces of Golden Flesh.

Return to the train track and continue east to reach Alma. You’ll see the train parked in front of the signpost.

Go inside the building and exit through the opposite door to reach the main section.
Here, you’ll find a Yellow Cube for saving and healing. On the right, where Zacharie used to stand, there’s a chest with ten Eyes.
You can enter the building up ahead, but it’s empty.

Head right to the next section and use the Pedalo Recovery Point to call a Pedalo.

Then, go west into the next area to find the Pedalo waiting in the water.

Ride along the river until you reach the area with the keypad puzzle. You’ll notice a new door on the north here.

Before going inside, get off on the southern platform and walk to the end to find a chest with four pieces of Abaddon’s Meat.

Now head through the northern door. Inside, you’ll find a Red Cube and two chests. The left one contains Monday, another Special equipment item.
The right chest contains the Grand Finale, one of the “Grand” items needed to unlock the game’s true ending.
There’s nothing else to do in Zone 1, so use the Red Cube to return to Nothingness.
Purified Zone 2

From the world map, choose Zone 2 as your next destination. As expected, the zone is now bathed in white light, and there’s not a single soul in sight apart from the Secretaries.

Head north toward the central library. The building is empty.
Continue making your way up through the floors until you reach the roof. There’s nothing here for you to collect.

Before the ladder leading up to the roof, you’ll find a Red Cube and a chest containing a Vengeful Symbol.

On the rooftop, you’ll find the Judge, meowing hopelessly. Speaking to him gives you a short, sad bit of dialogue, but nothing else.

Next, head for the Amusement Park in the western part of the city. You won’t need a Pedalo this time, as there’s now a path connecting the park entrance directly to the city.

Entering the park, you’ll find a chest containing three pieces of Golden Flesh.

From the park’s central plaza, head north to find a Red Cube for saving and healing. A little further up, you’ll encounter the second of the new bosses. Choose “Fight” to begin the battle.

Maldiction is a crab-like entity, and unlike Source, he actually fights back. He has several strong offensive abilities and can damage your entire party with one move. Make sure you’re stocked up on healing items to give yourself an edge during the fight.

There’s nothing else to do in the Amusement Park after defeating the boss, so make your way to the Shopping Mall in the northern part of the city.

Inside, you’ll find a Yellow Cube to save your progress. Move into the next room.

Take the left door first. This leads to the area where you once found the Judge staring at a wall drawing.

There’s now a chest where he used to sit, containing a Color of Sadness.

Return to the previous room and head east, then go down the stairs.

You’ll find yourself back in the Shopping Mall maze. As before, keep moving until you find a door you can pass through.

Eventually, you’ll reach a corridor with a Yellow Cube save point in front of you. Walk down the corridor and take the stairs at the end.

You’ll arrive at a house with the number “1805” written on the wall. Loot the chest for a Fortune Ticket and exit through the main door.

This brings you to the Residential Area. There are two houses of interest here. You’ll also find a Red Cube in the northern part of the area.

From the house you came out of, head forward and take the first set of stairs down.
Continue south until you find another narrow staircase near a waterfall. Go inside the house shown in the image above.

You’ll find another number on the wall here, “1709.”

Now head to the western part of town, where you’ll find a locked house. Enter the code to go inside.

Inside, you’ll meet an Elsen. He thinks he’s safe now that all the colors are gone.

In the room below, you’ll find a Red Cube and two chests. The left chest contains the Thursday special equipment, and the right chest holds the Grand Diagonal.
When you’re done, use the Red Cube to return to Nothingness.
Purified Zone 3

With the first two zones covered, it’s time to head into Zone 3.

This zone feels even emptier than the first two. Head straight for the dormitories. You don’t have to worry about the minefield puzzle. It’s gone now, and you can walk right in.

Remember the Elsen who insisted he wasn’t hiding anything? If you interact with that same spot, you’ll find three Jokers.

With that done, head to the last room in the dormitories, and you’ll find a door.

This door leads to a long path connecting to the Sugar Treatment Facility.

The last building to the east has a Yellow Cube you can use.

From here, head to the monorail station. Go down to the platform level to find a chest containing a Silent Symbol.

Next, make your way to the main building. Keep walking until you reach the area where you once saw the Elsens fighting off specters.

There’s a new door on the north side of this room. Before going through it, loot the chest on the right for a Tibia Epidermis.

Follow the path through the door to reach the Sugar Factory.

Climb the long ladder and jump into the chimney.

There’s no mini-game this time, and you’ll drop directly into the Sugar Factory interior.

Take the ladder to the lower room, then go into the empty hole in the fireplace.

You’ll find a Red Cube here. Save and heal up, then take the ladder next to it to face the third of the new bosses.

This is a duo boss battle and by far the hardest of the three you’ve faced so far. The enemies use a new mechanic called Vilify, which can one-shot your party members if you’re not careful.

After defeating the bosses, return to the main chamber of the Sugar Factory and jump through the hole to reach the monorail platform.

This time, the monorail is already waiting. Use the Red Cube, then choose “???” as your destination.

You’ll arrive in the area with the gamepad puzzle. Head to the station and take the left exit.

Go south, and at the end of the corridor you’ll find two Expirations. Like Inspiration, these items deal direct damage to enemies in battle.

Now head to the upper part of this area. The door before the last can be opened.

Inside, you’ll find a chest containing the Yoshihiro Bat.

Return to the corridor and go east into the next section.

Head for Enoch’s office. In the room with the reversed keypad puzzle, you’ll find a Yellow Cube and a door to the south.

This door takes you to an empty, white zone.

Continue moving southwest until you find another door you can go through.

You’ll see a Red Cube inside, along with two chests. These contain Tuesday and The Grand Spectral.
With everything collected, you can now go back to Nothingness.
Backtracking to Zone 0

Now that we’ve covered all the zones we purified earlier, there’s one last place to revisit, Zone 0. Like the other zones in the game, the tutorial area has also changed slightly.

At first glance, you’ll notice this zone still has its colors. Head north into the main section of the zone.

Go through the door on the right to find Zacharie. The door behind him leads to a platform with a Red Cube, but you don’t need it right now.
Speak to Zacharie, and he’ll mention he hasn’t seen Pablo for a while. He still sells items here, and we strongly recommend upgrading your gear at this point. He has some excellent late-game equipment available for you to purchase.
Once you’re done talking to Zacharie and upgrading, head back to the main section of the zone.

Enter the middle building with the Keypad code on the wall during the tutorial.
You’ll find a set of stairs leading deeper inside.

Follow the tunnel until you reach a room with piles of sugar and an Elsen.

This is Sugar, and defeating her is essential if you’re aiming for the true ending of OFF. After a short conversation, the fight begins.
At this stage of the game, Sugar can be a tough opponent. We recommend coming back later once you’ve gained a few more levels.
If you do manage to defeat her, you’ll earn the Grand Chocolatier item.
Whether you win or not, you’ve now wrapped up all the backtracking. It’s time to head into The Room.
This concludes part 4 of our walkthrough for OFF. For other parts, be sure to check out our walkthrough hub for the game.
