Welcome to Into Indie Games and the third part of our Palworld walkthrough!

After defeating your first Tower Boss, you obtain a strange item known as a Key Sphere. As you try to learn more about it, you discover that several more of these mysterious spheres are scattered across the islands.

Search For Clues About The Next Tower

After you manage to defeat Zoe and Grizzbolt and obtain the first Key Sphere, it’s time to find clues about where the next tower is located. The next step is to track down its location.

You will get an objective marker in the far northwest of the map, in the Bamboo Groves region. Make your way there. If you have a Pal mount, use it to make traveling easier.

When you reach your destination, you will find a small camp with an inhabitant sitting by a cooking pot. Approach him and interact with him. You will learn that he has a favor to ask of you.

To your surprise, he will mention the tower’s name, the Free Pal Alliance. It seems that this is an organization that used to treat Pals well, but now something is wrong and needs to be investigated.

Investigate the Free Pal Alliance Situation

Your task is to go and investigate the site of the most recent attack they carried out. It is located just south of your current location. Make your way there.

When you arrive, you will notice some Pal materials scattered around. It seems that the victim was indeed attacked here, but somehow his Pal received treatment from the Free Pal Alliance.

Go back to the inhabitant and report your findings to him. He still has his suspicions and seems to remember a different patient. He once helped a young girl who has a hideout just southeast of this location.

Make your way there. The hideout is located below the cliff near a pool of water. Go inside the cave, and you will find a table with a letter on it. Interact with it. Once you have this new information, head back to the inhabitant and report your discovery.

It seems that this young girl is Lily, and she is the founder of the Free Pal Alliance organization. What started as a mission to help locals and Pals has somehow taken a turn for the worse, but he believes that she can still be saved.

This is where he asks you to make your way to her tower and knock some sense back into her. The objective marker will lead you directly to the tower.

Free Pal Alliance Tower Boss Fight – Lily and Lyleen

Lily and Lyleen are certainly more difficult than the first tower boss, but the challenge here is very different.

Instead of relying on overwhelming damage, Lyleen focuses on sustained attacks and ranged pressure. It also uses healing abilities that can prolong the fight if you’re not dealing enough damage.

This battle is where you realize you can no longer rely solely on your strongest Pal and need to start thinking about elemental advantages, proper gear, and team composition.

Preparations

Before entering the Free Pal Alliance Tower, you should aim to be around Level 25 to 30. Reaching this level range gives you access to significantly better weapons, armor, and Pal options, which is exactly what you need for this encounter.

Just as importantly, your main combat Pals should be at least Level 25. Anything lower than this, and your team will struggle to survive long enough to deal meaningful damage, especially once Lyleen starts chaining attacks together and healing itself.

If you’re still below the recommended level, take your time exploring more regions, defeating Alpha Pals, completing dungeons, and capturing new Pals to earn additional experience.

The Best Pals to Bring

The biggest thing to remember is that Lyleen is a Grass-type Pal, which means Fire-type Pals should make up the majority of your team for this encounter.

One of the best options available at this stage of the game is Wixen. You can find it roaming west of the Dessicated Desert. What makes Wixen particularly useful here is its Lord Fox Partner Skill, which adds Fire damage to your attacks while it is fighting alongside you.

Since you’ll be spending much of the battle shooting at Lyleen while your Pal keeps its attention, that extra Fire damage can contribute a surprising amount of additional damage throughout the fight.

If you’ve already started exploring the volcanic regions around Mount Obsidian, then Reptyro is another excellent choice.

Reptyro is much tankier than most Fire-type Pals available at this point in the game, allowing it to survive longer against Lyleen’s attacks. Its naturally high Health and Defense stats make it ideal for keeping pressure on the boss while you attack from a safe distance.

Another strong option is Vanwyrm, which can be found flying around several areas near Mount Obsidian and the surrounding coastline.

Vanwyrm has access to powerful Fire skills such as Ignis Blast, Spirit Fire, and Flare Arrow, all of which take advantage of Lyleen’s elemental weakness. Since Lyleen tends to stay at range during parts of the fight, Vanwyrm’s mobility can also help it stay engaged more consistently than some ground-based Pals.

If you’re struggling to find enough high-level Fire-types, Arsox is another reliable option. It can be found throughout portions of Verdant Brook and nearby grassland areas.

While it may not deal as much damage as some of the other recommendations, it offers a good balance of survivability and offensive power, making it a solid addition to your party.

Regardless of which Fire-type Pals you decide to bring, try to have at least three of them in your active party. Unlike Grizzbolt, Lyleen can heal itself during the fight, meaning battles often last much longer than players expect. This is why having multiple Fire-type Pals available to rotate in and out can make a huge difference.

Don’t forget that your Pals should ideally be around Level 25 to 30 before entering the tower. This helps increase their base stats and improves your chances of winning.

The Loadout

Unlike the Rayne Syndicate Tower fight, this is the point where firearms start becoming much more important.

The Handgun, unlocked at Level 28, should be your primary goal before attempting Lily and Lyleen. It provides consistent damage while allowing you to stay mobile throughout the battle. Since Lyleen regularly uses ranged attacks and area-of-effect abilities, being able to keep moving while firing is a major advantage.

If you haven’t reached Level 28 yet, the Musket, unlocked at Level 21, is still a perfectly viable option.

It deals significantly more damage per shot, but its slow reload speed means accuracy becomes much more important. If you miss your shots using the Musket, this can dramatically lower your overall damage output during the fight. Whichever weapon you choose, make sure you bring plenty of ammunition.

We recommend a stack of at least 150 to 200 rounds. Lyleen’s healing abilities can extend the encounter, and the last thing you want is to run out of ammo when the boss is nearly defeated.

When it comes to armor, you should ideally be wearing Metal Armor, which becomes available at Level 23.

The additional defense helps reduce the damage from Lyleen’s constant ranged attacks and gives you more room for error when avoiding its larger abilities.

You should also bring the Mega Shield, unlocked at Level 16, or even better, the Giga Shield, unlocked at Level 29, if available.

Whichever you’re able to obtain, the extra durability compared to earlier shields can absorb several attacks before breaking, and the recharge mechanic can often save you during the more hectic moments of the fight.

Don’t forget to stock up on your preferred healing items as well. They’re just as important because it wouldn’t be fair if only Lyleen could heal.

Lily And Lyleen Attacks

Once the fight begins, you’ll quickly notice that Lily serves primarily as the rider while Lyleen is responsible for most of the danger.

One of the most common attacks you’ll encounter is a series of tracking energy projectiles. These attacks can follow your movement for a short distance.

Lyleen also frequently uses large Grass-type tornado attacks that cover sections of the battlefield. These abilities can deal significant damage if you’re caught standing still, making constant movement extremely important throughout the fight.

Another dangerous attack involves summoning multiple projectiles around the arena that explode after a brief delay. While these attacks are not difficult to avoid individually, they can become problematic when combined with Lyleen’s other abilities.

The most frustrating aspect of this encounter is Lyleen’s ability to heal itself. If you fail to maintain consistent pressure, the boss can recover a noticeable amount of Health and extend the battle considerably.

Fortunately, Lyleen’s biggest weakness is Fire damage. Every Fire-type Pal you bring and every Fire-based attack they use helps shorten the encounter and limits the opportunities Lyleen has to recover Health.

How To Defeat Lily And Lyleen

When it comes to defeating Lily and Lyleen, the biggest challenge is maintaining pressure while avoiding unnecessary damage.

As soon as the fight begins, send out your strongest Fire-type Pal and immediately start attacking.

While your Pal has Lyleen’s attention, continuously circle the arena and fire at the boss whenever you have a clear shot. Just like the previous tower fight, standing still is one of the fastest ways to get yourself defeated.

Pay close attention whenever Lyleen begins using its larger attacks. Most of its abilities are relatively easy to avoid if you’re already moving, but they can become dangerous if you get greedy and try to squeeze in extra damage.

Whenever one of your Pals starts taking heavy damage, recall it before it gets knocked out and immediately send out another Fire-type Pal. Basically, you need to rotate your party just like you did before.

The biggest mistake you can make during this fight is allowing Lyleen to dictate the pace of combat. If you’re constantly attacking and cycling through your Fire-type Pals, the boss will have fewer opportunities to heal and drag the battle out.

Eventually, the combination of sustained Fire damage, ranged weapon attacks, and proper Pal management will wear Lyleen down.

This is, of course, for a solo attempt against the boss. However, if you’re tackling the tower with a friend or a larger group, the encounter becomes significantly easier.

After defeating Lily and Lyleen, you will be rewarded with 5 Ancient Technology Points and the Key Sphere of Pride.

Report To The Inhabitant

Now that Lily and Lyleen have achieved victory, head back to the inhabitant’s location and report your achievement to him.
