Welcome to Into Indie Games and the fifth part of our Palworld walkthrough!
Defeating Axel and Orserk and obtaining their Key Sphere will lead you to another region, this time the Dessicated Desert in the far northeast corner of the map.
This is where the next Key Sphere is located, but as usual, you’ll need to uncover clues about its location and learn who resides there before you can claim it.

Search For Clues About the Next Tower

The marker will point you in the direction of a small town in the heart of the desert. Before you make your way there, make sure you wear heat-resistant armor.
At the entrance and to your left, you will find an inhabitant in distress. Speak to him.
Listen To The People Of Duneshelter

This is just a humble merchant, but it seems that it has become much more dangerous to conduct business because of the PIDF. He urges you to talk to other people in town to get the full picture.
Go inside the town, and you will see two marked individuals. Approach each of them and speak to them separately. It seems that the merchant was right.

As for the next step, the merchant wants you to head east from here and investigate a hidden PIDF stronghold there.
Investigate The Secret PIDF Location

Exit the town and head east until you come across a cave entrance. Go all the way through it until you reach the end. Here, you will find the Black Marketeer, whom you can do all sorts of forbidden trades with.

However, that’s not our goal. The objective is to inspect the boxes behind him marked with Marcus Dryden’s name. Just as you are inspecting them, a PIDF officer will arrive and ask you to leave since it is a restricted area.
The officer lets you off with a warning but asks you to go check the PIDF station where Marcus was recently seen. Perhaps you will catch him there.
Investigate The PIDF Station

The station is located just north of the tower, so make your way there. Enter the building, take the door to your left, and head into the chief’s office.

On the desk, there is a letter that you can read. It does indeed mention the stim racket operating in the area, so the merchant was right once again. It’s time to head back and report the situation to him.
Return to town, speak to him, and he will urge you to take care of Marcus once and for all.
PIDF Tower Boss Fight – Marcus And Faleris

Marcus and Faleris are one of the more annoying tower fights in Palworld, and that mostly comes down to Faleris itself. Because it spends so much of the battle airborne, landing consistent damage is often harder than actually surviving its attacks.
The good news is that once you learn its attack patterns and bring a few strong Water-type Pals, the encounter becomes much easier to control.
Preparations

Before entering the PIDF Tower, you should aim to be at least Level 50. Anything higher will make your life easier in this frustrating boss fight. Your main combat Pals should ideally be within the same level range as well.
If you’re still below the recommended level, it may be worth delaying this fight for a bit. Faleris has a large health pool, and underleveled Pals often struggle to stay alive long enough to contribute.
The Best Pals To Bring

The biggest thing to remember is that Faleris is a Fire-type Pal, which means Water-type Pals should be the foundation of your team.
One of the best options available at this point is Azurobe, which can be found around the eastern side of the map. Azurobe combines strong Water damage with solid survivability, making it a reliable choice for a fight that can last several minutes.

If you’re looking for another option, Jormuntide remains one of the strongest Water Pals in the game.
The Alpha Jormuntide can be found at the lake west of Investigator’s Fork. Its massive Health pool allows it to stay in the fight for a long time, and its Water attacks can deal significant damage throughout the encounter.

If you’ve been using Relaxaurus throughout your playthrough, there’s no reason to bench it here.
Its naturally high Health allows it to absorb more punishment than many Water Pals, and teaching it Water-based active skills lets it take advantage of Faleris’s elemental weakness despite not being a pure Water-type Pal.
A team built around Jormuntide, Azurobe, and another strong Water-type Pal should be more than enough for this encounter.
The Loadout

The Assault Rifle remains one of the strongest options for this fight. Since Faleris spends so much time moving around the arena, the weapon’s fire rate makes it much easier to consistently land shots compared to slower alternatives.
Faleris has a large health pool, so make sure you bring plenty of ammunition. Running out of ammo near the end of the fight is the last thing you want.

For armor, Pal Metal Armor is still a viable option here, and the Hyper Shield remains a strong choice. Also, don’t forget to bring enough healing items before entering the arena.
Marcus And Faleris Attacks

Faleris relies primarily on Fire attacks, but it also mixes in several Electric abilities that can catch you by surprise.
One of the most common attacks you’ll see is a large fireball projectile. Faleris launches it directly at your position, and the explosion covers a larger area than you might expect.
Instead of dodging early, wait until the projectile is about to reach you before rolling away.

Another attack to watch for is its flamethrower-style breath attack. Whenever Faleris closes the distance, there’s a good chance it will attempt to sweep the area in front of it with flames.
The easiest way to avoid this attack is to move sideways rather than backward.
Faleris can also create large fire tornadoes that travel across the arena. They move slowly at first, which makes them look less threatening than they really are. Give them plenty of space and continue moving rather than trying to squeeze between them.

One of its more dangerous Electric attacks is a tracking beam that follows your movement for a short period. As soon as you see the attack begin, start sprinting sideways and keep moving until the beam ends.
You’ll also occasionally see sections of the arena set ablaze. These areas remain dangerous for a short time, so avoid standing in them and reposition whenever necessary.
How To Defeat Marcus And Faleris

As soon as the fight begins, send out your strongest Water-type Pal. If you have Jormuntide available, it’s an excellent choice to open the battle thanks to its survivability and ability to keep pressure on Faleris while you settle into the fight.
Unlike some previous tower bosses, Faleris rarely stays in one place for very long. Because of this, trying to force damage every time you have a shot usually leads to mistakes.

Focus on clean shots whenever Faleris finishes an attack animation instead of firing recklessly while it is moving around the arena.
In addition to that, the lack of cover means you’ll need to dodge every attack properly rather than hiding behind obstacles. If several attacks are happening at once, focus on creating space first and dealing damage second.

Another thing worth paying attention to is your positioning. Try to avoid fighting near burning sections of the arena whenever possible. It becomes much harder to dodge incoming attacks when the floor itself is limiting where you can move.

After defeating Marcus and Faleris, you will be rewarded with 5 Ancient Technology Points and the Key Sphere of Wrath.
Report To The Inhabitant Merchant

With your task completed, head back to Duneshelter and let the merchant know that they don’t have to worry about Marcus anymore.
