Welcome to the second part of our walkthrough for Pathologic 3.
After the events of Day 1, you’ll find yourself sitting in a dark chamber, interrogated by the Inspector of the Special Committee. The conversation inevitably leads to you explaining what happened during Day 5 of your stay at the strange town.

The Infected District Town Hall

When the day starts, you’ll find yourself locked in a jail cell. You’ll unlock a new Thought (The End of the Beginning) in your Mindmap.

Walk toward the door to trigger a reasoning sequence. Choose whichever option you like. After it ends, you’ll find the Thought Darkness unlocked in your Mindmap. It will also increase your Apathy.

The door will open after the sequence, and you’ll see a woman standing near it. She is Victoria Olgimskaya, also called Capella by the local townsfolk. Speak with her.

During the conversation, certain dialogues will increase your Apathy while others will increase your Mania. There’s no right or wrong answer here, but certain interactions will require you to either be in Apathy or Mania. Regardless, you can always influence the meter by consuming drugs, so it’s best not to worry too much about it.
Capella mentions Rubin, a doctor that you’ve worked with, holed up in the Warehouses district. However, you can’t leave since the district you’re currently in is covered in plague.

After the conversation, continue moving forward and walk up the stairs. You’ll find another group of people waiting for you. led by Alexander Saburov, the governor of the town.

From the conversation, you’ll learn that he’s the person responsible for you being behind bars. On top of that, you’ll know that you’re trapped in an infected district. And as per a decree issued two days ago, anyone caught in the infected district is presumed dead.
That means you can’t hope for a rescue unless someone lights 5 bonfires in the district. At the end of the conversation, he’ll tell you that your Experimental Prototype is in the main hall along with other confiscated items. Before he lets you outside, you need to prove to him that your device can safely clear the Miasma.

Head to the central room where a crowd of people is gathered and pick up the Experimental Prototype from the table.
There are two more people here that you can talk to for some additional information, but they are not essential for progression.

First there’s the Murderer’s Brother, sitting on a chair in the room with the crowd.

Secondly, you’ll find Vlad the Younger standing in front of a study table in a side room.

When you’re ready, go through the door left of the Murderer’s Brother to enter a room full of Miasma. Use your Experimental Prototype to disperse the smoke. You’ll need to use the device three to four times to fully clear the room.

Exit the room when you’re done to find Alexander Saburov waiting near the door. He’ll agree to let you out of the building. He also suggests making your way to the southern exit of the district after lighting the bonfires, where you’ll find the orderlies.
After the conversation, head towards the door and exit the building.
Escaping the Infected District

Once you’re outside, your job is to light five signal bonfires. The first bonfire will be right in front of you on the right.
However, you need to find matches before you can light any of them. You can find them by looting bags on the street as you explore the district.

Since the district is infected, you also have to keep an eye out for Miasma clouds. Use the Experimental Prototype to disperse the smoke and clear the way forward if you have to.

Open your map and hover over the icon near the gate. This is where the orderlies are waiting.

Make your way to this location and speak with the people you find.

As expected, they refuse to rescue the people unless the bonfires are lit. Ask for some matches, and they’ll hand you a set of 10 matches.

Now make your way around the zone and light five signal bonfires. You’ll have to equip the matches in your pocket and press F when you’re near a bonfire to light them up. There are more than five bonfires available, but as long as you light five, you can return to the orderlies.

Talk to them, and this time, they’ll agree to send help. You can now exit the infected district.

When you exit through the gate, the map will open, and you’ll be introduced to the Route Planning system. Note that some of the districts are calm, while others are infected. We’re trying to get to the warehouse district to talk to Rubin.
To do so, click on the Gut district and then Warehouses. Press the Spacebar to start traveling.
The Warehouses District

As you reach the warehouses, you’ll see a man standing nearby. Speak with him.

Run through his dialogues, and eventually, he’ll tell you to ask the kids about Rubin’s whereabouts.

Activate concentration and follow the smoke trail as you make your way through the zone. This will lead you to a child sitting on a stack of crates outside a building. Speak with her.

You’ll learn that Rubin is acting as the new boiler man here. The kid will also tell you to follow the pipes to the boiler house.

There’s another kid up ahead standing on the train track that you can talk to. But they’ll tell you the same thing.

On the other side of the train track, you’ll see a body pinned to a building. You’ll also see one of the actors that you met on Day 1 beside the body. Talk to him.

The conversation will lead to a reasoning sequence where you’ll inspect the pinned body of Bad Grief.

Keep following the pipes above you afterward. This will lead you to a house with a red chimney above it. This is the boiler house. Enter through the door.

Inside, you’ll find the actor again locked in a strange pose. Talk to him.

Complete the conversation with the Shadow. He’ll tell you that Rubin has passed away, but he witnessed a miracle.

Exit the building and make your way to one of the exits of the zone. This time, we’ll be heading to the Hindquarters district to talk to Isador Burakh.
Finding Isador Burkah

As you enter the zone, you’ll see a small cutscene of a large demonic creature jumping from the roof of a nearby building.

When the cutscene ends, there will be a girl in front of you. Talk to her.

She’ll tell you that the creature is the Shabnak. Shabnak roams around infected zones and actively hunts you down. You can’t fight it. However, you can use bonfires and your Experimental Prototype to slow it down.

After the conversation, open your map to see where you have to go. You’ll want to head straight for the location of the icon.

Light the bonfires along the way. If the Shabnak comes up, use your Experimental Prototype to stun it and run past it.

Eventually, you’ll reach a house with candles outside of it. Enter the house.

Go forward inside the house to see a group of people. The woman with the red dress has her ears to the wall. This is Maria Kaina. Speak with her.

After the conversation, take the stairs to go up. Open the door at the top to find a kid sitting on a stool trying to open a door. Speak with him.

This is Sticky, Isador Burkah’s child. During the conversation, you’ll learn that Isador Burakh is dead and buried. However, Simon’s body is missing as someone stole it.

Head back downstairs and exit the house. Take the exit nearest the house to get back to the Route Planning window. This time, we’re heading to Bridge Square to speak with the Kains.
If you pass through an infected district along the way, you’ll have to exit the zone manually before you can continue your journey. Stay on the main route by checking your map, and you should be fine.
The Bridge Square

After arriving at the Bridge Square, head forward and turn right to spot a building. Take the door to go inside.

Enter the first door on your right to find a group of kids. Talk to the kid sitting at the desk.

Run through the conversation. You’ll learn that Victor Kains is in a place called The Cape. It will be marked on your map.
Exit the house and head toward the exit of the zone. Set The Cape as your next destination.
The Cape

Continue moving forward. Ignore the strange statue up ahead and keep heading straight for the end of the road. Keep walking till you spot a person standing in front of a statue. Talk to him.

Continue the conversation.

When the conversation ends, your Apathy will suddenly start to decrease, and Daniil will start speaking depressingly. This is scripted, and there’s nothing you can do about it. So let the event play out.
Mirror Room

After a while, you’ll find yourself in the Mirror Room for the first time. Talk to the Shadow standing up ahead, hugging the clock.

He’ll explain how you can manipulate time and tells you to break the glass at the end.

Interact with all the mirrors in the room to collect Amalgam.

After breaking all the mirrors, you’ll find yourself transported to a different place. If you open your map, you’ll see that you’re in Stillwater.

Continue down the corridor and open the door on the right to enter a room with a piano.

Open the door on the other side and talk to the woman sitting on the couch.

She reminds you that you promised to put in a good word for her with the Kains. This adds the Thwarted Expectations Thought to your Mindmap.

After the conversation, go up the stairs to find another woman. This is Eva Yan. Speak with her.

After the conversation, look at the clock next to her and press E.

Choose any of the days you want, and you’ll find yourself back in front of the Inspector. He’ll keep asking you for information. The conversation will eventually lead you to Day 3.
